Regardless of whether you like him or not personally, one cannot deny that Newt Gingrich was a very effective leader. Further, I would contend that he is exceptionally brilliant, has specific and concrete solutions for many of our worst current problems, and he has an extremely impressive knowledge of our nation's history in which to place everything into proper context.
The problem is that, like most of us, he has had some messes in his personal life in the past, many of which were due to his own making. While these would probably be a resume enhancement were the former Speaker of the House of Representatives a progressive, these transgressions and others that were nebulous at best have been used against Newt to the point of making him unelectable on a national level since he is indeed a conservative. It is a shame that such vilification via Alinsky tactics have rendered him so, because a man of his abilities and knowledge is what is desperately needed to right the ship of state from heading towards the rocky shoals that our current course has us headed.
With that in mind, see the embedded video of Speaker Gingrich and you will understand why this man or someone of similar mind and ability is what is needed right now. And who knows? One would have thought that a smooth talking community organizer with no experience or knowledge would not be electable either, and yet it happened, much to the chagrin of most Americans today. Perhaps a man who truly is qualified, despite progressive demonization, would stand a chance at being elected to high office again.

I would love a Newt Vs Obama election in 2012. Newt would lose, of course, but it would be a helluva lot more interesting and substantive to see those two debate than to see a dimwit like Sarah Palin reciting slogans from her hand and calling that political discourse.
I honestly don't think Gingrich is electable, and God knows that the fourth branch of government (the progressive media) would support Obama and demonize Newt.
That being said, the debate would indeed be incredible, Splash, and would put into perspective how far we have strayed from American ideals under this president.
If people actually listened to the debate, Newt would destroy Obama in a landslide; however if people had listened to brilliance and logic, Alan Keyes would have been the U.S. Senator from Illinois and Obama would still be lost in obscurity somewhere in Chicago.
