Eliseo Medina, The Democratic Socialists of America, SEIU, and "Immigration Reform"

Eliseo Medina is the leader of the Democratic Socialists of America and has been for some time now.  This Marxist organization has had huge influence on many unions, including one of the biggest and most powerful unions, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).  Mr. Medina has also served as an executive vice president for the same SEIU from 1996 until now; a position in which he has been an outspoken and stalwart champion of "immigrant rights" accordingly.

Last week, the second highest leader in the SEIU, Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger, resigned.  SEIU president Mary Kay Henry therefore publicized her intention to nominate Eliseo Medina to Ms. Burger's post as second in command.

This increase in power for Mr. Medina will likely help to consolidate and intensify the Democratic Socialists of America's influence in their unceasing push for what they characterize as "immigration reform" in America.  The ultimate goal of this is to try and bring about "comprehensive" immigration reform in the context of amnesty and a "path to citizenship" for illegal immigrants in the hope of attracting somewhere between eight to twelve million more Democratic voters.

As I, and many others have proclaimed all along, this fight for immigration reform as far as progressives were concerned, was never about human rights as much as it was about the consolidation of power in support of a political agenda.  In this case, the agenda is anti-capitalist, anti-freedom, and anti-American.  Listen to Mr. Medina's words yourself in the attached video.
