The True Foreign Influence in Our Elections

Many of our brothers and sisters on the left side of the political spectrum have consistently raised the valid issue of foreign interference by Russia in our election dating back to 2016.  Indeed our various intelligence agencies have provided evidence to support this charge thus giving it fairly irreproachable credibility, notwithstanding President Trump’s misspoken words in the past and his down-playing of this issue for whatever reasons to the contrary.

Despite this, it appears that Russia’s tampering and interference produced no credible evidence to suggest that they swayed the election’s results regardless.  Yes, this is a grave matter, and President Trump should have been quite forceful with Putin regarding this to prevent it from happening again in the future.  His milquetoast response towards Putin did nothing to negate it from happening again and only serves to provide his political critics with more fodder to claim collusion and thus develop other conspiracy theories against him.  It is readily apparent that Trump missed a huge opportunity at the Helsinki summit to take Putin to task about this matter accordingly.  Because of these reasons, our friends on the left have good reason to be critical of President Trump, despite some of the excesses and more ridiculous conspiracy theories they have fabricated after the fact.

One must wonder though, how much of this outrage is nothing more than a whole lot of light and very little heat over the supposed issue at hand?  Are our leftist friends truly angry at attempted foreign influence in our elections that for all practical purposes had no discernible effect in the election outcome, or are they simply using this as a political issue in which to further excoriate a president whom they loathe?  I am sure that there are some leftists that are indeed truly concerned about the issue, but for most of them I suspect the latter is actually the case.

I point to that bastion of looney leftism known as California to support my assertion.  Many conservatives have long been concerned about illegal immigrants voting in our elections.  Indeed there have been a few cases here and there where this occurred and the illegal alien was caught, charged, and convicted.  Of course we were mocked, scorned, and the focus of derision by our leftist friends for thinking this could ever seriously become a real issue though.

That was soooo last year.

Now, we have the city of San Francisco issuing voter registration cards to illegal aliens residing within the city.

Yes, all people should be afforded basic human rights and protections regardless of their legal status, but voting rights used to be reserved ONLY for American citizens.  Until now –

The supposed reasoning behind San Francisco supporting this policy is that there are so many illegal immigrants’ children attending public schools there that the city government thought it was only right that they should be given a voice to how things were run.  City Supervisor Norman Yee said: “We want to give immigrants the right to vote,” while conspicuously leaving out the “illegal” prefix.

These “immigrants,” illegal or not, will be allowed to vote in all city elections if they’re at least 18 and are the parents or guardians of children who also live in the city. Local ABC 7 affiliate reports:

"As a parent myself and a former member of the SF Board of Education it is critical that the voices of all parents are at the table, particularly those that have historically been denied a voice in the process,” said Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer who represents District 1.
School Board member Matt Haney was the co-author of the resolution endorsing the measure. He says the school board was in full support of it.  “I think it’s critical that all of our families have a voice in the governance of our schools,” said Haney.

While San Francisco is the very heart of the leftist beast of California, evidently there still remains one brave Republican living in the city that had the courage to disagree. Harmeet Dhillon is the Republican National Committeewoman from California. She says she voted against the measure in 2016.

“The reason I voted against it is that I think the right to vote is something that goes along with citizenship and should be,” said Dhillon.  She states in a common sense fashion that the SF school board is already obligated to look out for the interests of all the children attending schools in the district.  “I don’t think that people who have otherwise tenuous ties to San Francisco given their lack of legal residence should be making long term decisions about that structure and process,” said Dhillon.

I would find myself in complete agreement with Ms. Dhillon.

Let’s summarize, shall we?

Many leftist friends and family are understandably and rightly outraged by the attempts at foreign influence in our elections by Russia, but evidently in the city of San Francisco in the very center of the progressive beast, they evidently see no contradiction or even any issues with allowing foreign nationals to vote in city elections by granting them legal voting privileges.

Of course, I and many of my conservative brothers and sisters can hardly be surprised by this latest nonsense from Nancy Pelosi’s congressional district.  After all, San Francisco really isn’t a city that truly functions well anymore.  There exists no middle class there at all at this point as the average home price exceeds 1.6 million dollars.  The city has become a mecca for the uber-rich and the perpetually poor.  As a "sanctuary city" they continue to attract illegal aliens to their city limits whom are looking for protection from ICE and other law enforcement agencies.  The needle-laden and human excrement infested streets give proof to the brokenness of the city.  San Francisco barely survives currently by massive tax payment transfers from the rich to the myriad homeless street people that live in the city.  It is a perfect example of the abject failure of social and political progressivism.  Enfranchising poor illegal immigrants with voting rights in the city of course makes perfect sense to our leftist brothers and sisters as the next logical step in their progressivism.

It doesn’t, however, give very much credibility to their concerns of illegal foreign influence in our elections.

The Rescinding of DACA and the Restoration of the Governmental Balance of Powers

Long before President Obama, specifically via his Department of Homeland Security, approved the unconstitutional directive to prevent the deportation of the children of illegal immigrants, he correctly stated no less than 22 separate times that he did not have the constitutional authority to overturn, amend, or violate existing immigration law that was duly passed.  Regarding a theoretical executive branch mandate granting amnesty to illegal immigrants, President Obama specifically stated that,

“… for me to – simply through Executive Order – ignore those Congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as President.”

And yet, President Obama proceeded with his un-constitutional DACA directive anyway.

President Trump has recently rescinded that un-constitutional executive branch directive and in doing so gave the rightful authority back to congress in order to deal with this very difficult issue within the next six months.  It is my fervent hope that congress will stop kicking the can down the road and get a fair law passed within this time frame.  This should be something that both Democrats and Republicans discuss and come together on to find a solution for the good and safety of America, instead of continuing the partisan politics that have so ensnared this process in recent decades.

Now I certainly don’t blame the children of illegal immigrants that were brought to America and know no other country.  Indeed it would be exceptionally cruel to deport them back to their countries of origin at this point.  That said, it certainly is not fair that their parents, even with altruistic intentions, violated federal immigration laws and brought them here illegally.  There must be consequences for this if we are to remain a nation of laws.

I would make these suggestions to congress as they work to draft a new immigration law: first, the children affected by the rescinding of the DACA order should be allowed to stay in the United States and be granted legal status accordingly, perhaps with even a long term path towards citizenship. However, it is my opinion that all of the parents of these children that violated the law, while they should also be allowed to stay here if their children are minors, should be limited severely in the federal entitlement programs to which they can apply and also they should not ever be granted full voting citizenship rights.  I hope that congress will draft just such a law accordingly.  I won’t hold my breath.

If there are no consequences for having broken our immigration laws, what is to prevent this from reoccurring?  After all, President Reagan signed a law providing amnesty to illegal aliens back in 1986 with the understanding that congress would provide for better immigration and border protections.  Obviously those things never materialized, and we are dealing with even greater numbers of people coming to America illegally today.

President Trump laid out the case very well when he rescinded DACA the other week:

"In June of 2012, President Obama bypassed Congress to give work permits, social security numbers, and federal benefits to approximately 800,000 illegal immigrants currently between the ages of 15 and 36.  The typical recipients of this executive amnesty, known as DACA, are in their twenties.  Legislation offering these same benefits had been introduced in Congress on numerous occasions and rejected each time. . .
The temporary implementation of DACA by the Obama Administration, after Congress repeatedly rejected this amnesty-first approach, also helped spur a humanitarian crisis – the massive surge of unaccompanied minors from Central America including, in some cases, young people who would become members of violent gangs throughout our country, such as MS-13. . .
The decades-long failure of Washington, D.C. to enforce federal immigration law has had both predictable and tragic consequences: lower wages and higher unemployment for American workers, substantial burdens on local schools and hospitals, the illicit entry of dangerous drugs and criminal cartels, and many billions of dollars a year in costs paid for by U.S. taxpayers.  Yet few in Washington expressed any compassion for the millions of Americans victimized by this unfair system.  Before we ask what is fair to illegal immigrants, we must also ask what is fair to American families, students, taxpayers, and jobseekers."

Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan enthusiastically responded to President Trump’s righting of the balance of powers in this matter immediately after the announcement:

"President Obama’s DACA program was a clear abuse of executive authority, an attempt to create law out of thin air. Congress writes laws, not the president, and ending this program fulfills a promise that President Donald J. Trump made to restore the proper role of the executive and legislative branches. Now, the House and Senate, with the president’s leadership, will work to find consensus on a permanent legislative solution on this and many immigration issues, such as border security and interior enforcement."

Congress should indeed work swiftly under the six month guideline that President Trump has provided to finally come up with comprehensive immigration reform.  No full amnesty should be given nor path to citizenship provided for those that were adults and knowingly broke our immigration laws when they came to the United States.  Those minor and/or dependent children that were brought here by their parents, should be allowed to stay, along with their parents, but with the consequences I have suggested.

It is absolutely unfair to Americans, let alone all of those folks that would like to be Americans whom have respected our laws and asked to come into our country legally to be held to far higher standards than those that have entered illegally.  After all, those folks trying to do things the right way – the legal way – are also Dreamers!

The Society of Professional Journalists Calls on Members to Not Use the Term "Illegal Alien" in Their Reporting

Note: It would seem that a "clarification" that I either missed or more likely which was added after my having read the original source material for my posting states that the Society of Professional Journalists has not endorsed the restraining of the usage of this terminology.  Rather, the clarification states that a member of the SPJ has written an opinion piece encouraging such  constraints on members of the SPJ in their reporting.  The Society as a whole has not endorsed this at this date.

It would seem that the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is trying to improve their "objectivity" as their Diversity Committee is calling on news reporters nationwide to drop the term “illegal immigrant” and "illegal alien" from their news coverage in an effort to “inform and sensitize” people on how “offensive” the phrase is to Latinos.

I would submit to the SPJ that their current efforts to restrain journalists' usage of the terms "illegal alien" and "illegal immigrant" only goes to show their distinct bias and lack of objectivity in their own reporting.  First, the fact that they claim that the need to change these "pejorative labels" to the milder term "undocumented worker" as the former terms are offensive to Latinos strikes me as quite stereotypical and subjective of the SPJ.  Are all illegal aliens in this country only of Latino heritage?  Are they they the only sub-group of illegals that are offended by these terms?  I am quite certain that there are tens of thousands of non-Latino people in this country that would also accurately be classified as "illegal aliens" and similarly take offense.

Further, the fact that the SPJ finds it necessary to have a "diversity committee" smacks of having a pre-disposed bias in protecting or being supportive of minority groups.  I rather thought it was a journalist's professional obligation to report without editorial comments or implications only the facts of a story.  Who, what, where, when, and why should be the guiding principles to any stories, not changing a "label" (particularly an accurately used label) in order to offer no offense to a certain person or group of people in a story.

Indeed, it would seem that we are further losing our language in America and political correctness has driven us to the point of fearing to use "labels" on people at all.  I would suggest that accurately descriptive labels are a part of our language and are necessary for conveying an explanation or dissemination of a given characteristic of a person.  Of course, it is imperative that such labels be accurate in their attribution towards a given person or group.  It would seem that political correctness has indeed run amok though when fear of "labeling" anyone, particularly of a minority status, is deemed not only inappropriate but exceptionally rude.

Ironically quoted, “[T]his is not about being politically correct,” SPJ Diversity Committee chairman George Daniels says, but about aiming to “minimize harm” when reporting.  I find it interesting that the altruistic SPJ group has concerns about "minimizing harm" to politically-correct-protected sub-groups of people but seemingly show no such similar restraint when it comes to interviewing grieving parents about the loss of their child in combat or other similar situations.

It has been painfully obvious that objective and accurate journalism has long been on the decline and indeed may be close to death.  The SPJ's latest pronouncement places one more nail into the coffin of the once venerable journalistic watch dog for the people.  Is it any wonder why most major newspapers, magazines, and news broadcasts in the mainstream media continue to hemorrhage consumers of their "news"?

The DREAM Act Amnesty Bill To Be Brought Up For Vote In Lame Duck Senate

The so-called DREAM Act (The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act) was originally an amendment attached to the Defense Authorization Act that the Republicans were able to successfully thwart passage of previously.  Now Harry Reid is promising to bring up the DREAM Act as a stand alone bill in the Senate in a lame duck session of congress as early as next Monday.  This bill has already met with successful passage in the House of Representatives under Nancy Pelosi's leadership there.

Reid and the Democrats realize that this is likely their only remaining opportunity to pass this type of amnesty legislation before the Republicans take control of the House and narrow the Democrats' majority in the senate to near parity with the convening of the 112th congress this coming January.

The DREAM Act, which was originally proposed by Republican Senator Orin Hatch of Utah and Democrat Dick Durbin of Illinois, is little more than an amnesty package that covers illegal alien "children" up to 35 years of age.  It would effectively grant amnesty to these illegal aliens who have either graduated from high school, earned their GED, or served in the U.S. military well into their adulthood.

Personally, I oppose Harry Reid’s desperate attempt to pass his backdoor amnesty plan during the Lame Duck session of Congress.  The DREAM Act is little more than an educational initiative that would allow millions of illegal aliens who meet a very loose definition of the term ‘student’ to qualify for green cards.  Additionally, the DREAM Act would funnel taxpayer monies away from legal residents and into the pockets of illegal aliens.

Already in my current state of Utah, illegal aliens are granted in-state tuition rates for college education.  I find this to be ludicrous.  A United States citizen living right across the border in Idaho would have to pay out-of-state tuition, but someone that is not even in the country legally gets the same benefits as an American citizen and legal resident of the state of Utah.  Now with the possible passage of the DREAM Act, not only will illegal aliens get in-state tuition, but will be granted green cards with a path to citizenship.

This is absolutely preposterous and it is such concern for illegal aliens at the expense of Americans that has precipitated a lot of resentment from a large majority of the American populace.  This disregard for doing the will of the American people is also the exact reason why Senator Hatch's colleague from Utah, Senator Bennett, was beaten in a GOP primary earlier this year and is slated to be replaced by conservative Senator-elect Mike Lee.  Senator Hatch, with his similar disregard, has similarly been put on notice that he likely will be challenged for his seat in 2012 accordingly.

According to Grassfire Nation, a grass roots conservative organization that fights to protect our Constitutional rights, has stated that their  contacts suggest that there are a number of Republican fence sitters who haven't yet committed their voting intentions on the DREAM Act.  Unfortunately, they did not identify who these specific senators were.  I would strongly encourage everyone to contact your own two senators and ensure that they do not vote for passage of this backdoor amnesty bill accordingly.  If passed, the DREAM Act will be little more than the proverbial camel's nose under the tent wall.  The next resulting action will be a herd of camels in our American tent.

American Illegal Aliens Entering Canada

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The recent actions of the Tea Party are prompting an exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray, WORK, and to agree with Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck.

Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists, and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota.

"The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken.  When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields.  "That was real effective," he said. "The liberals became annoyed and started avoiding my property."

Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals near the Canadian border, pack them into Volvo station wagons and drive them across the border where they are simply left to fend for themselves.  "A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions," an Ontario border patrolman said. "I found one carload without a single bottle of imported drinking water. They did have a nice little Napa Valley Cabernet, though."

When liberals are caught, they're sent back across the border, often wailing loudly that they fear retribution from conservatives. Rumors have been circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer and watch NASCAR races.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border . Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in powdered wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the '50s. "If they can't identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age," an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage and are renting all the Michael Moore movies. "I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can't support them." an Ottawa resident said.  "How many art-history majors does one country need?"

An Arizona Rancher Describes the Perils of Life Along the U.S./Mexican Border

A friend of mine from Arizona sent this letter to me.  I thought it provided a very interesting first-hand account of the dire situation faced along our southern border.

The following commentary was penned by Ed Ashurst of Apache, Arizona:

I believe story telling to be an art form, certainly verbal record is the oldest form of recording history and recognized by historians worldwide. There is an old adage among those who love to tell a good tale, “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.” And yet there are times when the truth is even more fantastic than exaggeration. What I write here is the truth, plain and simple.

I reside on, and manage a large cattle ranch in the far southeastern corner of Arizona. I’ve been here for 13 years and in that time frame have become far too familiar with the illegal trafficking in human beings, marijuana and other illicit drugs. Some have called it “the wetback culture” or “America’s border problem”. Lately it’s been taking steroids.

The recent murder of Robert Krentz by an illegal alien has received massive amounts of publicity worldwide. I live on the ranch bordering the Krentz ranch to the east and north. I can see the Krentz home looking out of my front door approximately 10 miles away. The day after Rob’s death I was involved in tracking the outlaw into Mexico. I saw the outlaw’s footprints where he crossed the border fence. I mention this to say I feel that I’m qualified to speak about current border issues.

My home has been broken into twice. My son’s home has been broken into also and between us we have had between twenty and thirty thousand dollars worth of stuff stolen from us including two ranch pick-ups, a four wheeler, 9 firearms (including a loaded AK 47) cash, jewelry all of our credit cards, driver’s license, etc. A guest house here on the ranch has been broken into so many times we quit counting… many times we haven’t even called the Sheriff’s dept. The Cochise County Sheriff’s dept. has no less than fifteen reports on file where I’ve called for assistance dealing with an outlaw illegal alien.

Several months ago, not long after Rob Krentz’s death, Fox news (channel 10 in Phoenix AZ) contacted me and expressed interest in coming down and doing a news story about me and the problems myself and other ranchers in this area have had in recent months with illegal outlaws. To prepare for my interview with Fox, I asked for assistance from six other neighboring ranchers and businessmen. All of these men are prominent men in the community, tax payers, business owners and individuals who have the best of reputations. Together we made a map of the area which covered from the southeastern corner of AZ going west about 20 miles to the silver creek area, and going north about 30 miles to the area around the towns of Portal, AZ and Rodeo, N.M. On this map we made marks recording violations to United States law committed by illegal aliens. We did not use government statistics (we wouldn’t know how to get them) but recorded incidents that we knew had happened first hand, many of which we had witnessed. We tried to record only the incidents that have happened in the last several years.
  • The sum total of what we recorded is this:
  • The arrest or capture of 40 illegal in one bunch – 40
(we didn’t bother with the countless smaller groups)
  • Loads of Marijuana found and captured – 213
  • Dangerous encounters with illegal aliens – 132
(assault, burglaries, forced entries, etc.)
  • Dead illegal aliens found by civilians – 16
  • High speed vehicle chases between dope haulers and law enforcement – 14
  • Illegal aliens spotted with firearms – 12
  • Fires started by illegal aliens – 9
Over 100,000 acres burned with the cost to taxpayers of $ 40,000,000. One fire near Portal AZ in June of 2010 cost $10,000,000. to fight (forest Service estimate)
  • Outlandish incidents – 4
Example: One bachelor in the Portal area was burglarized around 100 times. He finally took all his valuables and put them in a steel vault and welded the door shut. He then moved out of his house into a shed hoping the illegal aliens would leave him alone. They did not and he finally abandoned his property. Another outlandish event was when outlaws stole a brand new Caterpillar motor grader on the Geronimo Trail east of Douglas, AZ and drove south through the border fence never to be seen again. The grader belonged to Cochise County Hwy Dept.
  • Financial losses to private sector - $100,000,000.00
(losses in real estate value, personal property, etc., losses in wildlife habitat – immeasurable)

Last but certainly not least, the murder of Rob Krentz, which is right in the center of our map.
Let me put this in perspective. The area I’m talking about is an area that covers approximately 17 or 18 townships with only 20 miles being adjacent to the US – Mexico Boundary. Within this area, there is a population of perhaps 600 people, 90% of which reside in Rodeo, N.M. or Portal, AZ, 30 miles or so north of Mexico. No less than 80% of the people in this area have been burglarized or otherwise molested by illegal aliens. This area is about half as big as the Diamond A ranch or Babbitt ranch in northern AZ, both of which I’ve been employed on.

I’m sorry to report that this, in my opinion, is the small part of the story. The Mexican-American border has taken a dramatic change for the worse in the last several years. Those of us who live here see it first hand. As early as February of 1999 Sheriff Larry Dever warned me and others at a town hall meeting at the Apache School that the Sinaloa Cartel was moving into the Douglas-Agua Prieta area (Rob Krentz was at this meeting). The cities of Nuevo Laredo, Coahila, Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, and other border towns south of Texas have been controlled by outlaws for years. There is virtually no law enforcement in those places. The law is the law of the jungle. Until the last two years it seemed that Agua Prieta and Nogales were safer places but that has dramatically changed in recent months.

I am personally acquainted with 2 Mexican men, that I know to be honest and trustworthy, who have been involved first hand with Mexican outlaw terrorist acts. One witnessed first hand an execution of several people in broad daylight in Juarez. Several weeks later his daughter witnessed an assassination in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua no more than fifteen feet from where she stood. The other man is a legal Mexican green card holder (who was employed by the Krentz family for years) whose nephew was murdered by cartel members in Sonora. At night people in Douglas are hearing machine gun fire from Agua Prieta south of the border fence.

The Sinaloa Cartel is now putting a stranglehold on Agua Prieta. No more than 2 months ago 8 armed Mexicans were confronted by 2, U.S. Border Patrol agents north of the International Boundary in southeast Cochise County disguised as Federalizes. They were in fact cartel employees armed with assault rifles and automatic pistols. Mexican people that know tell me the situation in Agua Prieta has deteriorated dramatically in recent months. The good people are told to look the other way “or else.” Volumes could be written about this subject alone, but I will move on.

You could ask, “So what does this have to do with us living north of the border fence?” Plenty! The situation on the border isn’t just about a few workers walking north. It has everything to do with big business. Billions of dollars are being made trafficking humans, drugs, and contraband across the International Boundary. The Sinaloa Cartel, headed by Chapo Guzman and others, is reaping huge profits doing business along the border. The average coyote charges $1500 - $2500 to guide an illegal alien north to find work; usually abandoning them a short distance north of the line. A young man willing to pack dope north can make more than a construction worker or a teacher in the U.S. and only work a day or two a week.

This is not all south of the line. I could take you and show you businesses where checks and credit cards are not accepted and where very few customers walk through the door, yet the owners live in the largest mansions in town and drive very expensive cars. Could there be some money laundering going on? There are only two industries of any significance in Douglas, AZ: law enforcement (Douglas has one of the largest Border Patrol stations in America), and the illegal trafficking of drugs, people, etc. across the border. These two industries feed on each other, and the powers that be seem happy with the situation. Crooked politicians look good to the public when they clean up drunk driving and prostitution, until you find they own bars and whore houses south of the line. These things have happened!

But this, in my opinion, is only the beginning. Chapo Guzman who heads up the Sinaloa Cartel is a multibillionaire. This guy and others like him may be cruel and sinister people but they are also very smart businessmen. They are reaping profits off of the largest tax free unregulated business on the planet. They have so much cash they are befuddled what to do with it all. But they are going to figure it out.

There are rumors that Guzman is financing modern, state of the art feedlots and packing houses in Mexico with plans to overtake America as the Western hemisphere’s leading beef producer. This is probably only a small part of his plans. Mexico is a nation rich in natural resources. Petroleum is abundant and the corrupt Mexican government is in control of all of it. Pemex is the only gas station in town. Pemex, because of the incompetent Mexican government, is broke. Chapo Guzman is at war with the Mexican government and has dreams (not unrealistic) of controlling the entire nation. Think of all of Mexico’s natural resources in the control of Chapo Guzman! He already has the most profitable business in the world - selling Marijuana to your next door neighbor. Think what he could do with a tax free unregulated strangle hold on a nation of poor people begging to work for practically nothing.

Do you think that Chapo Guzman and others like him haven’t thought of all of this? Do you think that Guzman isn’t laughing all the way to the bank as he watches the evening news and hears how the American Government proclaims that the situation on the border is under control? What is going on in northern Mexico is capitalism in its rawest form. They have an untaxed unregulated business making huge profits and they have no plans of closing up shop any time soon. We here in the U.S. are overtaxed, over-regulated and being smothered by increasingly intrusive government that makes it hard to do business in a successful manner. You don’t have to be rocket scientist to figure this one out.

This has nothing to do with being Republican or Democrat or Latino or White. It has everything to do with being right or wrong. I came from a long line of Democrats. My great uncle was a U.S. Senator for several decades. My grandfather was an attorney, and a Superior Court Judge. I have a 1939 copy of a Time Magazine with his picture when he ran as a Democrat for Congress. The only time in history the U.S deficit was paid off was by a Democrat – Andrew Jackson. John Kennedy announced nearly 50 years ago that America could put a man on the moon and in less than a decade we did it.

I am now a registered Republican, but I’m not a Democrat hater. But, how can the president of the “can do” nation of Andrew Jackson’s and JFK’s party say we can’t seal the border? We conquered Adolph Hitler in World War II, but can’t seal the border? We put a man on the moon but can’t seal a leaking oil well in less than 90 days? While this is going on we tax and regulate American business with a vengeance that stifles the free market system that has made our country great. While Janet Napolitano announces the border is safer than ever, Chapo Guzman and others pack billions of American dollars south to invest in a tax free market with one of the largest cheap labor force on the planet at his disposal!

I challenge you to come to Douglas, AZ and drive east on the Geronimo Trail, or northeast on US Hwy 80 to places on the map like Chiracahua and Apache. Or go to Rodeo and Hatchita, NM. Go and search out the 5 biggest cattle ranches in the Apache, AZ area and ask them what they think. Go to Hidalgo County, N.M. and ask the ranchers and cowboys there what they are seeing and hearing. Ask the people who we do business with what they think of our opinions. I challenge you to ask the prominent people in this area, who work hard and pay taxes if they agree with Barack Obama or Ed Ashurst when it comes to what is really going on near the U.S.-Mexican border. Unlike Obama and others I don’t have to be surrounded by sycophants to make a statement. I purposefully left out the names of those who helped me with my map and the data I collected when preparing for the Fox interview.

In closing I challenge you to look around to see if what I say is the truth. This isn’t about a few Mexicans wandering around looking for a job. This is about American civilization going into a time of tremendous change – a building has foundations and walls, maybe the foundation of our country is still strong, I don’t know, but the walls have certainly fallen down and the keepers of the house are out to lunch.

The Obama Paradox

This quotation was forwarded to me that was supposedly attributed to the brilliant Ben Stein.  I have been unable thus far to corroborate that he is the source of the statement, however.  Nevertheless, the point is most excellently made:

"Fathom the odd hypocrisy that Obama wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens."

Illegal Alien Rally and Flag Desecration in Phoenix

These pictures were forwarded to me by my sister and are of a protest on 7/31/10 in Phoenix over the new Arizona state law SB 1070.  One can clearly see how much love and respect that these "would-be" citizens have towards our country and the state of Arizona.  Does it strike anyone else as ironic that this is the way these people chose to make their case that they have a "right" to be here in this country illegally?

One has to wonder if the police would have stepped in and arrested a US citizen should they have chosen to similarly desecrate the Mexican flag at this rally.  Evidently, since desecrating the American flag is a federal crime, the local and state police wouldn't arrest these "protesters" for having done so as it was not a crime within their jurisdiction.  Only the feds could arrest them, and since they won't arrest illegal aliens for even being here, why should they arrest them for this "petty" crime?

Notice the toilet seat and paper sitting on the American flag?  Care to bet whether such a protest in Mexico would land an illegal alien American in a Mexican prison, and justifiably so?

The Democrats Cynical Attempt to Harness the Illegal Alien Vote

Michael D. Shear wrote an article in the July 20th, 2010 publication of the Washington Post that, "President Obama and his political aides privately acknowledge that the government's decision to sue Arizona over its new immigration law is helping to fuel an anti-immigration fervor that could benefit some Republicans in elections this fall.

But White House officials have concluded that, over the long term, the Republicans' get-tough message is a major political miscalculation. They predict it will ultimately alienate millions of Latinos, the fastest-growing minority group in the nation.

West Wing strategists argue that the president's call for legislation that acknowledges the role of immigrants and goes beyond punishing undocumented workers will help cement a permanent political relationship between Democrats and Hispanics -- much as civil rights and voting rights legislation did for the party and African Americans in the 1960s."

And therein lies the crux of the issue as far as the Democrats are concerned, just as I have articulated repeatedly over the years.  The Democrats are not trying to "help" illegal aliens in the United States strictly out of a sense of compassion or any other altruistic reason.  In fact, if it were to become quite apparent that 70% of these illegal aliens entering this country were likely to vote for Republicans the next time amnesty rolled around, I guarantee you that the Democratic leadership would have made that border fence water tight, let alone people proof.  Further, they would be prosecuting and deporting such folks found to be here illegally with extreme prejudice, if you will pardon the turn of phrase.

Instead, since the opposite is true and it seems that approximately 70% of illegals are more likely to favor the big government entitlement mentality of the Democratic Party, the Democrats are actively working to try and harness and capture this potentially huge voting block.

The Democrats then have developed a strategy to explain their actions, or lack thereof as the case may be.  They give all of the oft-heard talking point platitudes like, "These people just want to have a better life," or such nonsense as "illegal aliens are essential to our economy and they do the jobs that other Americans no longer will."  My favorite though is the statement of how we "need to get these people out of the shadows".

Indeed there is a kernel of truth to each of these reasons, but they are offset by the reality of the matter often times which shows that far more harm is done through allowing this illegal immigration to continue unabated with a wink and a nod from our President and Democratically-controlled Congress.  Indeed, this mindset was inexplicably also adhered to by moderate Republicans and President George W. Bush as well, likely out of fear of alienating this huge potential future voting block.

Indeed, this Democratic strategy of non-enforcement of our existing immigration laws is nothing more that the deliberate attempt to try and dilute the GOP vote though.

Continuing from the Washington Post article, "Advisers to the president say his long-standing position on immigration is not motivated by presidential politics. But in a few years, they predict, the Latino population will surge in "red" states, where residents have traditionally voted for Republicans in presidential contests. States such as Texas, which has been a GOP stronghold for a generation, could become permanently "purple" tossups if Republicans do not repair their image."

As you can see, right from the donkey's mouth, the Democrats motives are for consolidation of power and not for any noble or altruistic reasons when it comes to allowing illegal aliens to flow into this country completely unabated.  After all, the Democrats don't look at these people as illegal aliens, but rather as undocumented Democrats.
