It was only a mere seven months back, and yet it seems like a lifetime ago, that on January 8th of this year a mentally deranged young man named Jared Loughner killed six people and injured several others in Tucson Arizona. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was seemingly his primary target, but thankfully she survived. A federal judge and a nine year old girl were among the victims that did not survive.
Many of the pundits, politicians, and various talking heads from the left immediately received the DNC talking points memo on what their take should be on the event. Okay, not really, but the solidarity from the left immediately in the aftermath of the murderous rampage was definitely impressive. This heinous act was attributed to the right’s incivility in its political discourse. We need to stop with the hate speech, especially from the right side of the political spectrum, we were all subsequently lectured. We need to disagree in an agreeable manner. We all need to be civil. Are you hateful Republicans (I realize that 'hateful' and 'Republican' is redundant to the left) and various conservatives listening? They were talking to YOU!
Fast forward a little over half a year and evidently those appeals to civility in the political process can all be completely abandoned, at least for our brothers and sisters on the left.
President Obama made a beautiful speech right after that horrific event in Tucson last January. He eloquently stated, “At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized, at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do, it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”
One can only assume the Obama’s Vice President must not have been listening, or at least did not take to heart the soaring rhetoric towards civility as championed by President Obama that day. Indeed during the fractious debate over the recent debt ceiling situation, Vice President Joe Biden agreed with the vitriolic words spewed from Congressman Mike Doyle’s mouth at a two-hour closed door Democratic caucus meeting the other day when he proclaimed that the Tea Party was nothing more than “terrorists”. So much for civility towards those that think differently than we do.
“We have negotiated with terrorists,” an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. “This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money.” Biden, driven by his Democratic allies’ misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: “They have acted like terrorists,” according to several sources in the room. Earlier in the day, Biden told Senate Democrats that Republican leaders have “guns to their heads” in trying to negotiate deals. So evidently in Representative Doyle’s (D) honorable opinion, a terrorist is someone that won’t let him spend any of the tax-payers' money! Amazing.
One can only imagine the outrage from the statist media and all good folks on the left had Vice President Cheney ever said such things about his political adversaries, and understandably and deservedly so. Indeed they likely would be calling for his resignation, again rightly so. Biden’s latest “gaffe” hardly attracts notice for even a day in contrast. Once again the double standards between the two parties is rather stark in comparison.
Aside from this disgraceful lack of civility, evidently the left has also changed the definition of one of the words in the English language yet again too. Now, according to our Vice President, various other elected Democratic officials, and many in the statist media, a terrorist also has the alternate definition of someone that believes in governing by the dictates of the Constitution, the curtailing of spending money we do not have, and the stopping of the creation of money out of thin air. Indeed, I think we should create a Progressive dictionary to which we could add this entry:
terrorist (noun): 1) a person who supports responsible government, especially regarding budget and debt issues. 2) someone who supports a balanced budget. 3) a Tea Party member. 4) a Republican that is not willing to negotiate their principles. 5) someone who is conservative. 6) anyone who does not support the Obama / Reid / Pelosi liberal agenda.
It is ironic that Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford’s return and first vote since being shot back in January occurred in the midst of this swirling storm of hateful and uncivil speech from some of her own Democratic colleagues. I guess civility is only a word denoting a tactic intended to silence opposition and dissent from the right and not actually something of which the left actually agrees with in practice. I guess that is another re-defined term that we can add to the Progressive dictionary too.

Chris Matthews: Chilean Miners Would Be Dead if They Followed Tea Party Philosophy
Chris Matthews, the host of MSNBC's "Hardball", was so egregiously inaccurate with his mis-characterization of the Tea Party and its platform on his show the other day that one has to assume that he really is a Democrat shill. Matthews, in his discussing with AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka, made the asinine comment that if the trapped Chilean miners had followed the tea party’s “every man for himself” philosophy, there would have been no survivors.
He then goes on to articulate a grossly distorted and inaccurate view of the Tea Party platform saying that they are for "No more taxes, no more government, no more everything. No more safety net. No more health care for everybody. Everybody just get out there, make your buck, save it, screw the government, move on."
Now I have to assume that Chris Matthews, being the intelligent guy that he is, knows that is NOT the platform of the Tea Party. The Tea Party does not want to eliminate taxes or government, rather they want to eliminate un-Constitutional and wasteful spending that necessitates higher taxes. They want a smaller, more limited government that governs via the consent of the governed by Constitutional restrictions upon the federal government's scope of power.
Chris Matthews surely must know this, and yet he chose to characterize the Tea Party in a manner in which Robert Gibbs or David Axelrod would be proud. It amazes me that anyone affiliated with MSNBC, and Chris Matthews in particular, can claim to be honest reporters of fact while still keeping a straight face. As has been said before, you are entitled to your own opinions, Mr. Matthews, but not your own self-created "facts". You owe an apology to the millions of Americans that support the Tea Party's platform, accordingly. I won't be holding my breath, though.

Rush on The Conservative Ascendancy
All politics is cyclical, so conservatism will not always rule the day, but Limbaugh is correct that it is in high ascendancy currently. This is quite remarkable since it seemed that it would be in exile for at least a generation with the anointing of Obama to the presidency. Ironically, the socialistic over-reach of President Obama and his fellow political travelers in the politburo.... er, I mean, in congress has awakened a majority of the American people who are lining up and voting that THIS is NOT what they wanted with the Democratic Party rise two years ago.
The grass roots rise of the Tea Party has come along and is in the process of holding the GOP accountable and thrashing the progressives in both parties so that fiscally responsible and constitutionally guided candidates will overwhelmingly rule the day this November 2nd. The light of hope is indeed becoming brighter once again in America!

A Tale of Two Ideologies: Progressives and Tea Partiers
Herein is a great video showing what most Americans already know regarding the truth about progressives and Tea Partiers.

There is No Racism in the Tea Party
I am getting exceptionally tired of hearing left-wing pundits and even the rank and file liberals in their regurgitation of inaccurate statements and outright lies about racism in the Tea Party movement.
The left seems to hate the Tea Party because its purpose is to take back control of the government and place it with We The People so that a more responsive, fiscally responsible, and Constitutionally governed federal government can be the ultimate result.
I understand the tactic of lies and demagoguery from the left, as it tends to be their only form of combating conservative ideas since they seem to be devoid of anything that does not resemble Marxist ideals and the usurpation of our rights as Americans in their intellectual arsenal. The fact that it is relatively effective when their willing allies in the state-run media repeat these lies, only guarantees their continued use of such tactics.
That being said, the Tea Party is about restoring America to the way our founding fathers intended it to be and cries of racism are hugely inaccurate and often times fabricated by the left. See the video below for more on this.

The Contract From America

Back in 1994 soon-to-be-speaker Newt Gingrich and the Republicans in the House of Representatives captured the majority back from the Democrats with the 104th congress under the promise that they would pass a legislative agenda named The Contract With America.
Unfortunately not all of those very sensible items in that contract were passed into law, and the Republicans eventually lost their way with governing in a Constitutional manner and were thrown out of office and the placed back into the minority governing party accordingly.
With the excesses, corruption, and out-right illegal (un-Constitutional) usurpations of the current presidential administration and the Democratically-controlled congress, the Tea Party has coming into being and has been warning those in congress that THEY work FOR WE THE PEOPLE.
With that in mind, they have now come up with an excellent list of Constitutionally-directed and common sense rules to restore freedom, liberty, and justice to our greatest of all nations. This list of legislative items that has come from grass roots people across America is entitled The Contract From America, and politicians of any party would do well to take notice, vow to support, and then follow through in producing and voting for the appropriate legislation to get these enumerated items below enacted into law.
Following is that contract and you can go to their website to sign your support for it here.
The Contract from America
We, the undersigned, call upon those seeking to represent us in public office to sign the Contract from America and by doing so commit to support each of its agenda items, work to bring each agenda item to a vote during the first year, and pledge to advocate on behalf of individual liberty, limited government, and economic freedom.
Individual Liberty
Our moral, political, and economic liberties are inherent, not granted by our government. It is essential to the practice of these liberties that we be free from restriction over our peaceful political expression and free from excessive control over our economic choices.
Limited Government
The purpose of our government is to exercise only those limited powers that have been relinquished to it by the people, chief among these being the protection of our liberties by administering justice and ensuring our safety from threats arising inside or outside our country’s sovereign borders. When our government ventures beyond these functions and attempts to increase its power over the marketplace and the economic decisions of individuals, our liberties are diminished and the probability of corruption, internal strife, economic depression, and poverty increases.
Economic Freedom
The most powerful, proven instrument of material and social progress is the free market. The market economy, driven by the accumulated expressions of individual economic choices, is the only economic system that preserves and enhances individual liberty. Any other economic system, regardless of its intended pragmatic benefits, undermines our fundamental rights as free people.

4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform

5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington
Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the US Constitution’s meaning. (63.37%)
