Setting the Record Straight on Governor Palin

I know that from the beginning the left fell in love with the anointed one, Barrack Hussein Obama, and that any criticism of him was reflexively denounced as racism by those knuckleheads, but now that the honeymoon is over and the bloom on the rose is wilting quickly, people are beginning to see that the omnipotent Obama is NOT what he claimed to be during his campaign, and certainly not what this country needs.

Now I instinctively liked a lot of what I saw and heard from Governor Palin when she came on to the national scene. Choosing her as his VP was probably one of the few smart things McCain actually did in his dismal presidential run for the Whitehouse. Without Palin's true conservative principles to energize the GOP base, McCain would likely have lost to Lord Obama by a much larger margin yet.

That being said, I do not know if Palin will run for president in 2012. I do not know if I will vote for her if she does run, but I do know that she is more than qualified, particularly when compared to the inexperienced Marxist man-child currently in office. Further, Palin's conservative instincts and common sense are exactly what is needed should we as Americans care to make an attempt to save what is left of our country before it completely goes under for good.

The state-controlled main stream media has done a masterful job of denigrating and spreading outright falsehoods about Governor Palin. Their Saul Alinsky tactics of trying to ridicule and make her irrelevant have had an effect with regards to those people that don't take the time to actually look at the facts. Regardless, I don't think Governor Palin is going away from the national scene anytime soon and that is a very good thing for America.

With all of that being said, I found this interesting snippet written by one of Palin's constituents that helps put things in perspective. It won't matter to those that have already made up their minds regarding Governor Palin, but to those with an open mind, the facts definitely support the case that she is exactly the type of executive we need in the Whitehouse.

By Dewey Whetsell, Alaskan fisherman

The last 45 of my 66 years I’ve spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here’s the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it…It’s not about persona, style, rhetoric, it’s about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I’m about to mention here.

1- Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar. But while you’re thinking, I’ll continue.

2- Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So, she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES”. Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them “don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3- The other thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork”. She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we’ll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning—I imagine—that she’s packing heat herself). I’m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4- Now, even with her much-ridiculed “gosh and golly” mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn’t impress you, then you’re trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5- For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn’t start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. This summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6- President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona . Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that’s just a cover-up. I’m still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won’t be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn’t let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.

Mr. Whetsell, I couldn't agree more!

Nice post and very timely. Why, just this morning as my dearest and I sat down to breakfast at one of his favorite joints, my ears were accosted by some blithering idiot blathering on about Obama.

He said, "When I hear him give a speech, not just a little talk, but a long speech, I remember why I voted for him."

So he's in love with Obama's speech writer.

I liked Palin more before she got nominated. I just don't think she can stand the heat the left and the media put on her or would put on her if she ran for POTUS. I thought that before she quit as governor. She's okay, and good at communicating with Johnny six pack average American but not what I'm looking for in 2012. Wouldn't mind her as the Senator from Alaska though.

Really? You think someone who can't name any of the Founding Fathers of the country, considers "what newspapers do you read" to be a "gotcha" question, and lies constantly about her record to be someone who could handle the presidency? Does the right have any standards at all?

You guys on the right constantly blather on about how you don't like Bush either, it's not just Dems that think he did a bad job. You qualify it by saying that, at least, he was good on national security. And then your new know-nothing leader Palin didn't even know what the Bush doctrine was?!

I mean, come on! And then she quits her term as governor before it's even half over - and blames liberals for her failure. She had an approval rating in the 70s in Alaska. Liberals don't exist in Alaska. She was unable to govern because she is incapable.

I hope the GOP does run her in 2012. It will be a guaranteed re-election for Barack Obama. He may even win 45 states with her as your nominee.

And if you think the other Republicans running for the nomination are going to be as timid as the Obama campaign was in dealing with her lack of intelligence and qualifications, then you are going to be in for a rude awakening. Mitt Romney, I guarantee, has spent millions in research designed to destroy her in the primaries.

I will be watching it all happen with a huge smile on my face.

Splash, I suggest you put down your David Axelrod talking points and look at the truth.

Palin was the Democrat's darling when she was first governor because she helped root out corruption of the former Republican governor's office, Frank Murkowski.

She also stood up to big oil and fought Exxon-Mobil to protect the environment and share their revenues with Alaskan's as per that state's constitution.

She got the ball finally rolling on the creation of a natural gas pipeline too. Something that multiple previous administrations couldn't do because of entrenched special interests etc.

Hell, I'd LOVE to see a Democrat even say an unkind word to another Democrat if they were corrupt, let alone assist the FBI and help them put corrupt members of one's own party into jail!

Further, Palin is obviously not dumb despite her being horribly unprepared for the Katie Couric interview. The left just wants to portray another conservative as stupid, because that is the only thing in your Saul Alinsky play book that gains any traction when your statist media allies repeat the lies ad nauseum.

Funny how that same media barely makes mention when Obama states how he was planning on visiting 57 of the states when he was campaigning.

I'll take someone that actually has a record of accomplishment and doing the right thing REGARDLESS of whether it hurts those in her own party or not, over some inexperienced Marxist community organizer that is not fit to run a fortune 500 company, let alone the greatest nation in the world.

You'd really compare a slip of the tongue - saying 57 instead of fifty - to someone not being able to name a single founding father? Or name a newspaper or magazine that she reads? Or what the Bush doctrine is? And those were from three separate interviews! Was she just unprepared for them, too? The founding fathers question was from Glenn freakin' Beck who idolizes her. You will literally say anything to defend that idiot.

You guys set the bar so low for Palin that she can't help but meet it. Like I said, she did nothing and she knows nothing. I hope she runs. It will be an electoral slaughter not seen since 1984. This time, however, I will be on the victorious side.

Run, Sarah, run!!

Darrell Michaels said...

Give me a break. Do you really think she cannot name and give specifics even of at least one founding father?

Why do I get the feeling that this is something taken out of context by you, Splash? I would bet money that you were not actually watching Glenn Beck interviewing Palin and saw this. I mean, come on! How often do you watch Beck's show?

Once again you are relying on second hand information from Maddow, Olbermann, or the Daily Kos for this crap, aren't you?

Further, if things continue as they seem to be going for Lord Obama, he will be quite beatable by ANYONE that runs against him in 2012. He is already losing a fair amount of his moonbat base and most all of the independents that voted for him.

It might be wise for him to step aside and for Hillary or someone else to run in 2012 if the Democrats want to even have a slight chance of holding on to the Whitehouse.

It's not second hand information when you can see the video for yourself. You should check it out. You can watch TV clips online without having to watch the entire show. Based on your ridiculously made up recitation of the "Palin record" it seems you are the one lacking context. A lot has been learned about the bogus narrative created about Palin from the McCain campaign. They have all but admitted it now. You might want to get with some more current information about her 1.5 years as governor of a state with more moose than people.
