Our friend, Dave Dubya, went to a lot of effort to write a very interesting poem which he shared with me in one of his many comments. I wanted to share it with our readers and then answer some of the questions his poem asks. I give you Mr. Dubya's poem:
Who are they, who we hear say?
“Fake news is the enemy of the people”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“Global warming is a hoax”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“We don’t want everybody to vote”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“Tax cuts for the rich are what we need”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“Public healthcare is not a right”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“Public education is not a right”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“We have the pandemic under control”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“It’s the common cold, maybe the flu”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“I take no responsibility”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
Who are they, who we hear say?
“Make America great again”
Enemies of Democracy, Enemies of Equality
It is a shame to poke holes in your poem, Mr. Dubya, considering you obviously worked so hard at it, but the truth must be heard with the questions your poem asks.
“Fake news is the enemy of the people”
Yes, if it is not truthful, then it absolutely is the enemy
of the people. It misinforms and tells
lies to propagate a dangerous socialist agenda.
It ignores the wrongs of the left and characterizes rioters as “mostly
peaceful protesters”. It questions
President Trump’s mental condition and ignores the fact that Joe Biden cannot
even hold a press conference without having answers written for him on a
teleprompter. It seeks to destroy one side and not inform, as journalism is supposed to do.
“Global warming is a hoax”
No. ANTHROPOGENIC global warming is not proven science. It is a means to further a Marxist agenda by the left. I give you the green new deal as evidence of this.
“We don’t want everybody to vote”
I do NOT want everybody to vote. I want only registered American voters to
vote. I don’t want illegal aliens or
felons to vote. I know that cuts into the left's voter block though. I’d prefer that voters
also are educated on the candidates and the issues, but if they are registered
American voters, even the ignorant have a right to vote.
“Tax cuts for the rich are what we need”
First, while I have never had a poor man offer me a job,
that is also false propaganda. Bush’s and
Trump’s tax cuts helped middle class families immensely, especially with child
tax cut credits. The problem is that the
bottom 50% of American tax payers account for less than 5% of the national tax
burden. The leftists in congress
describe anyone with an above-minimum-wage job as rich evidently. Further, Trump's tax cuts were a significant reason as to why the American economy grew so strongly before the Covid nightmare.
“Public healthcare is not a right”
What? I thought Obama
and Biden fixed this already with their expensive and largely useless Obama-care. Oh, that’s right. Now Biden is going to fix healthcare… again.
“Public education is not a right”
This is a new one that I haven’t heard before. Public education is an absolute necessary
good for our nation. That said, the NEA
and other teachers’ unions are part of the problem. They have leftist agenda-driven teachers that
are often incompetent in the subject matters they teach that do nothing more than
indoctrinate our children into being minions and “peaceful Marxist protesters.” Get rid of the teachers’ unions so we can
have some accountability of our educators and throw out revisionist lies like
the 1619 project. It would be nice if we had teachers and parents that cared enough about education to actually, well... educate. It is a disgrace that America lags so far behind other countries in math and sciences, among other critical subjects.
“We have the pandemic under control”
Yes, I am sure a complete shut-down of the economy under Joe Biden for six more months will save us all. The pandemic is dangerous; however, it has been exaggerated for political purposes in order to create financial instability and weaken Trump’s re-election chances. Luckily, most people see this for exactly what it is.
“I take no responsibility”
I assume this is a direct quote from Nancy Pelosi. Perhaps after she was caught being “set up” when she violated the law for all of us common folk and went and got her hair done in a shut-down salon.
“Make America great again”
Who says that? Americans that love this country and its rights, freedoms, liberties, and opportunities for everyone, regardless of creed or color. We The People who love and support the notion of E Pluribus Unum; we say that. The left abhors that idea though. If the nation takes many diverse people and makes them into one America, then the Left loses their victim card of pitting various groups against each other. They lose their adversarial sexist agenda. They lose all of their identity politics agenda they have fostered in order to divide our nation. Yes, lets make America great again for ALL Americans.
Thank you for your poem, Mr. Dubya. It was very telling and enlightening.

Your post in response to Dave's poem was a home run, game over hit.
These are some of the things the Left wants.
mail-in voting
ending the filibuster
packing SCOTUS
creating new states
ending the Electoral College
lowering voting age to 16
making illegal immigrants citizens
I wonder if TB3 and Dave would share with us which points they are opposed to?
You are correct, JTF. And what do all of those things have in common? Leftists will tell you it is to capture the disenfranchised. What it really does is condone illegal foreign influence by allowing non-Americans to vote in our elections. It allows kids, whom have been indoctrinated with socialist hate-America rhetoric from their teachers at schools to vote. It ends a the constitutionally stipulated electoral college so that only big blue states like California and New York can decide the nation's path. They want to pack the courts and do all of these things as a means to secure more power for the left and their wayward intentions of anti-Americanism.
They already have supported, or at best case, not condemned the riots. They are already priming their ignorant lemmings to assume a Trump victory in November is automatically because of him cheating.
They have taught me a lesson though. I used to believe you could discuss things with a leftist. Nope. Maybe with an old-school Democrat or a liberal, but not with a leftist. If you are conservative, you are a racist. If you are white, you are a racist. If you are male, you are sexist. If you support President Trump, you are all of those things and an authoritarian supporting a dictator.
The irony is that Trump has not acted like a dictator. He has left it up to the states on how they should proceed with masks and lockdowns. It is Biden and the left that want to federally mandate anti-racism training, shut down the economy with mandatory masks and lockdowns, and usurp our rights to even go to church and worship. Trump has strengthened our constitutional rights and cut tremedous amounts of red tape which bogged down our economy needlessly. Which party is really the ones supporting authoritarianism and dictatorship? It ain't the GOP.
I ran across this tonight, with the passing of RGB.
If McConnell jams someone through, which he will, there will be riots.

The left has become unhinged, and has as it's goal the destruction of the AMERICAN SYSTEM, IE: economic, political, religious and social. Hiding behind their false claim of a fight for racial justice, nothing is safe from their unjustified rage.
They are not our fathers liberal.
I am real sorry that you have come to believe such hateful and unfair things of your fellow Americans, Darrell. We all live in America and yet you have been convinced through an echo chamber of similarly convinced individuals and propagandists that people who want American society to prosper but have different opinions on accomplishing it are anti-american. Where is that old common sense you wanted to save?
Unbelievable.
JTF, yep the peaceful protesters are preparing to up their violence when they don't get their way again. It's almost like someone took away all of their participation trophies. :)
TB3, I have some friends and family members that are Democrats and liberals and I still respect them and their opinions. I don't respect nor have any use for those that threaten, let alone do violence when they don't get their way legislatively. They want to use coercion and domestic terrorism to get their way and defund the police and so forth. Antifa and BLM don't want America to prosper. They both want to usher in a new "re-set" and establish a non-capitalistic nation based on false history and narratives. They don't want people to get along. They want to "burn it all down." If you cannot see the facts of that, then I am afraid you are the one with blinders on, my friend, and have bought into the leftist propaganda.
Remember when Republicans were so angry about govt. "picking winners"?
The Fed and Mnuchin are buying $1.25 Trillion of corporate bonds resulting in spikes in the stock prices of those companies.
Corporate welfare is what keeps the Holy Infallible Free Market operating.
Not one conservative is complaining. The house of cards will fall soon. Democrats will be blamed.
Better delete and forget this, amirite?
For the record, I agree with you on this. I did not approve when Obama did all of his "quantitative easings" to have the government purchase stocks and artificially support the market. I sure as hell don't agree when Trump does it. The difference is that I don't recall you ever condemning this when I brought it up in the Obama years. I condemned it then, and I condemn it now.
"...amirite?" ~ Dubya
No, you are never Right, nor are you very often correct either. :)
Nice to see you agree on corporate welfare. Where was the outrage with the Trump Administration before I brought it up, if you please?..... I know. Not a peep. ;-)
Who are they? Who are the enemies of democracy?
First came, "We don’t want everybody to vote. When everybody votes we lose.” "Everybody" means eligible voters, not foreigners and children.
Then came the restrictive voter IDs.
Then came limiting voter registration drives.
Then came purging of voter rolls that disenfranchised thousands of eligible voters.
Then came reducing poll access by reducing numbers and last minute changes of poll locations.
Then came the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that HB 589, often referred to as North Carolina’s “monster voter suppression law”, was enacted with “racially discriminatory intent" that targeted African American voters with “surgical precision.”
Then came elimination of early voting.
Then came the sabotage of the USPS to hinder mail-in ballots...etc.
Then their Leader declared war on democracy:
Reporter: "Win, lose or draw in this election, will you commit here today for a peaceful transfer of power after the election?"
Fuhrer Trump: "We're going to have to see what happens. Get rid of the ballots and we'll have a very peaceful — there won't be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation. The ballots are out of control.”
The militia nuts, Proud Boys, the Klan, and the Republican Party are with him all the way. Right wing terrorism will ramp up if Trump can't steal the election.
As someone once wrote, "Who are They? Enemies of Democracy. Enemies of Equality."
Dave, I have always been consistent about my disdain for corporate welfare. Where in the hell were you on this topic when Obama was doing it? ...Crickets...
Yeah, them voter ID laws that make sure only eligible American voters are allowed to cast a ballot really mess up the Democrats' plans, huh?
Same with purging voter rolls of dead people, or people that moved, particularly to new states. Messes with the DNC game plan to cheat AGAIN!
The USPS has been a mess forever. Trump tries to fix it and the Left goes berserk. That said, the postmaster general has halted any changes until after the election, so stop with your falsehoods there. Further, if you put so much faith in the USPS, lets do a test of that faith. Put $500 in cash in an envelope and mail it to yourself. Are you completely certain that that envelope will come back to you? If not, should we be used the USPS to deliver the ballots to determine the direction or destruction of our republic?
If Trump is FAIRLY beaten, he will step down. It is Hillary and the Democrat hierarchy that is telling Biden not to concede under any circumstances. So tell me, Dave, who is really undermining our democracy?
"So tell me, Dave, who is really undermining our democracy?"
First it was the Slave states and their electoral college. Conservative white men hate democracy.
The same is true today. Obviously it is the Right that undermines democracy. They declared they don't want every qualified voter to vote. “We don’t want everybody to vote. When everybody votes we lose.”
And don't try to tell me he was talking about children and pets. He meant "everybody" as eligible voters.
They suppress voter registration, poll access, early voting, and are even putting fake ballot boxes out.
Look at those red state voting lines, for minorities in particular.
Come one. Cons have ALWAYS wanted their minority rule.
You can admit that or lie to yourself.
Trump has appointed a total of 220 white judges.
Not one Judge of color.
I wonder why...
Purging voter registration polls of people that have moved out of state or died is NOT voter suppression.
Sending unverified vote by mail ballots to everyone without knowing if they are legally able to vote or even alive dilutes our votes as Americans and is not democratic.
As for the electoral college, when this was discussed at the constitutional convention, there were three states that were against the electoral college: North Carolina, South Carolina, and I believe Georgia. All of them were slave states. No free states voted against the electoral college. One would think this was not about slavery considering this fact alone.
As for judges, I suspect Trump chose people based on their judicial record and qualifications rather than by the color of their skin. That said, I think he just had confirmed an excellent woman to the SCOTUS bench.
Thank you for responding.
” Purging voter registration polls of people that have moved out of state or died is NOT voter suppression.”
This is a straw man fallacy against a claim I never made. The accurate claim is, “Eligible voters are purged along with those who are not”. Dead or out of state voters do not constitute a problem.
”Sending unverified vote by mail ballots to everyone without knowing if they are legally able to vote or even alive dilutes our votes as Americans and is not democratic.”
Another straw man fallacy. Mail in ballots are NOT sent to “everyone”. Applications, NOT ballots, were sent to registered voters. States with mail in only ballots sent them only to active registered voters. Like the extremely rare voter impersonation fraud, mail in ballot fraud is an inflated evidence-free propaganda talking point by those who wish to suppress voting.
The Electoral College was a COMROMISE to get slave states to join the Union. It is now institutionalized inequality for most voters. Justifications were antiquated or outright false. A short explanation from History.com is below.
First, they thought 18th-century voters lacked the resources to be fully informed about the candidates, especially in rural outposts...Not only was the creation of the Electoral College in part a political workaround for the persistence of slavery in the United States, but almost none of the Founding Fathers’ assumptions about the electoral system proved true.
My point stands.
”I suspect Trump chose people based on their judicial record and qualifications rather than by the color of their skin.”
Many of Trump’s appointments were classified as “unqualified” by the ABA. They were selected ONLY because of their political ideology. If you want to educate yourself on who really selects the appointees for Trump, I suggest you see the FACTUAL presentation by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.
He showed the agenda of unlimited dark money in politics is regulatory rollbacks, particularly regarding the environment, rewarding polluters and voting rights limits, including what a N.C. judge ruled "surgically" targeted minority voters. Opposition to Roe v Wade, Obamacare, and LGBTQ equality are the other “qualifications”. He noted, “80 cases so far under Roberts decided along 5-4 partisan lines with an identifiable GOP donor victor.”
"I don't think you've tried cases ... but if you wanted to make a bias case, an 80-0 pattern would be prosecution gold for any lawyer. Something is not right about the court and dark money has a lot to do with it," he said to Judge Barrett.
(Excerpt From Sen. Whitehouse's Presentation)
What is the scheme here? Let me start with this one.
In all cases there's big anonymous money behind various lanes of activity. One lane of activity is through the conduit of the Federalist Society. It's managed by a guy, was managed by a guy named Leonard Leo and it's taken over the selection of judicial nominees.
How do we know that to be the case? Because Trump has said so. Over and over again his White House counsel said so. So we have an anonymously-funded group controlling judicial selection run by this guy Leonard Leo.
Then in another lane we have again anonymous funders running through something called the Judicial Crisis Network which is run by Carrie Severino and it's doing PR and campaign ads for Republican judicial nominees. It got 17 million, single 17 million dollar donation in the Garland/Gorsuch contest. It got another single 17 million dollar donation to support Kavanaugh. Somebody - perhaps the same person - spent 35 million dollars to influence the makeup of the United States Supreme Court.
Tell me that's good.
And then over here you have a whole array of legal groups also funded by dark money which have a different role. They bring cases to the court. They don't wind their way to the court, your honor, they get shoved to the court by these legal groups, many of which ask to lose below so they can get quickly to the court to get their business done there.
And then they turn up in a chorus, an orchestrated chorus of any key. Now, I've had a chance to have a look at this and I was in a case actually as an amicus myself. The Consumer Financial Protection Board case. And in that case there were one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven amicus briefs filed and every single one of them was a group funded by something called Donors Trust.
Donors Trust is a gigantic identity scrubbing device for the right wing so that it says Donors Trust is the donor without revealing whoever the real donor is. It doesn't have a business, it doesn't have a business plan, it doesn't do anything, it's just an identity scrubber.
And this group here the Bradley Foundation funded eight out of the 11 briefs. That seems weird to me when you have amicus briefs coming in little flotillas that are funded by the same groups but nominally separate in the court.
The pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in DC responds to the burning of the church’s Black Lives Matter sign last night by Proud Boys.
“For me it was reminiscent of cross burnings.”
Like I said. Enemies of democracy and equality.
What was that you said about "mob rule"?
What did I say about enemies of democracy?
Trump’s terrorist traitors are storming the capitol.
