Hating America as it Becomes Great Again

Over the past nine years of writing this blog I have pointed out on certain occasions when some of our leftist brothers and sisters in our country have seemingly gone to great lengths to make sure the rest of the nation knows that we are NOT a great nation, in their estimations.  Of course, my pointing this out, using their own words and actions as evidence, has often been met with defensiveness at best and derision and hate at worst.  None of this changes the fact that quite sadly there are far too many Americans that simply despise our country – despite often prospering from the very fruits, protections, and constitutional rights that they are decrying as not existing in practice.

I suspect there has always been a miniscule contingent of such folks in America since our founding, but the numbers of such seem to have increased steadily and more drastically in my life time.  I think the Vietnam war was the catalyst for many counter-culture Americans to find fault and begin loathing our nation.  A case can even be made for some of their arguments regarding this, although I personally disagree with most of those points of contention.

Jump forward to the restoration of American prosperity and strength in the Reagan years and one will find many of the same naysayers grumbling, protesting, and hating America as it stood up against the horrors of Communism, particularly as embodied by the evil empire of the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic.  To these disgruntled Americans, it was our nation that was provoking war and committing human atrocities; not Soviet Russia that killed or imprisoned millions in their gulags in Siberia and in puppet satellite states throughout the world.

The same tired folks and their rhetoric reappeared during Operation Desert Storm and then with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11.  To some of them, it was not vile and evil Islamic militants that killed 3000 of our civilians, attacked our pentagon, and brought down the world trade center, but rather it was an inside job done by, or at least with the knowledge of, President Bush.

Sad.

Fast forward to the Obama years when socialism, class-warfare, racial divisions and strife, and bureaucratic regulation all expanded exponentially, and we saw the heat from the leftists wane and their hatred was temporarily satiated.  Michelle Obama, for the “first time in her adult life” was finally “proud of her country”.  Her husband worked mightily to fulfill his campaign promise to “fundamentally transform America”, since the America he received to govern was deeply and egregiously flawed in his opinion.

And then the unthinkable happened.

Hillary actually lost the presidential election in 2016!  The arrogant and bombastic Donald Trump became president instead of the arrogant, bombastic, and seemingly congenitally corrupt Hillary.

Once again many on the left came out of the woodwork with their pitchforks as the economy has taken off, employment has soared to its highest point in generations, and there are dramatically fewer people needing to rely on welfare.  Well that simply will not do as our deeply flawed president (and he is indeed deeply flawed in some areas in my opinion) tries to desperately do as he promised in his campaign.  He is indeed restoring America.  His efforts are succeeding in many regards to making America great again.

But not according to New York Governor and potential 2020 presidential aspirant Andrew Cuomo.  Speaking at an event for women and girls in the state a few short weeks back, the far left-Democrat said, “We’re not going to make America great again. It was never that great.”

Even some of the leftwing New York crowd to whom he spoke were surprised at the statement as some laughed nervously while a few hooted and hollered in agreement.  Governor Cuomo had the courage and audacity to speak out and say what some among them actually were thinking.  But they knew that wouldn’t play well with us hicks and rubes in flyover country.

As Cuomo and his staff begin considering the ramifications of what he just said, a mere few hours later his staff came out in full spin mode to try and mitigate the damage and salvage a presidential run that will absolutely be haunted by the video clip of this asinine statement of his.

“Governor Cuomo disagrees with the president,” his office said in a statement clarifying his remarks. “The governor believes America is great and that her full greatness will be fully realized when every man, woman, and child has full equality. America has not yet reached its maximum potential.”

Sadly, this mentality of decrying that America is a racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, patriarchal, greedy and corporatist society has taken over the mindset of some of our leftist brothers and sisters.  It has definitely infected our colleges and universities and in recent years is filtering down to our secondary and primary schools.  The future generations are being indoctrinated with willful ignorance against the liberties, opportunities, and exceptionalism of our great nation.

A recent case in point came about when the Washington Post back in May reported that 11-year-old Mariana Taylor, whom is a student at Catonsville Middle School in Baltimore County, Maryland, was inspired by the actions of former failed NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and thus decided she should kneel during her class’s recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

According to the report, Mariana’s teacher said that she should stand to honor the positivity of America and told the child that she had family overseas serving in the military, noting that the student was being disrespectful.

Mariana reported that, “I left the classroom in tears… It is in my rights that I am allowed to kneel.”  She continued, “I kind of wanted to show people that what’s going on is not okay,”

Once again a teachable moment is lost as another child falls to leftist rhetoric instead of being taught the truth.  Sad.

Of course, not to let an opportunity go to waste, Hillary Clinton shared the clip on her Twitter account and tweeted, “It takes courage to exercise your right to protest injustice, especially when you’re 11! Keep up the good work Mariana.”  What is good is that America didn’t get back to back presidents that apparently do not like America.

Now the former quarterback, with a career losing-record, had the right to protest and speak out as he saw fit, assuming his former employer allowed his workplace to be such a platform for his hate-America diatribe, but he is hardly courageous in doing so.  He lost nothing because of his stance.  His 1-11 performance in his last season dictated the outcome of his career; not NFL collusion because of his outspoken 1st amendment speech rights.  Good luck with your lawsuit against the NFL accordingly, Mr. Kaepernick.

Through all of this -- the heated rhetoric, the antifa violence, the pro-abortion marches, the crying of snowflakes about their “rights” being violated when they cannot even tell you what their constitutional right are is enough to begin to think that maybe they are right.  Maybe America isn’t that great.

And then one takes a step back and puts the Obamas, Clintons, New York Times, CNN, college students and professors, and the talking-head pundits on the left aside and looks at what America has accomplished in its short time on earth by providing for the greatest freedoms and prosperity for more of its citizens than any other nation throughout world history and we are able to once again put things back into proper context.

No, we don’t need to necessarily make America great again.  It still is great already.

Fixing what is broken and extra- or un-constitutional though would go along ways towards ensuring that we remain the greatest nation in human history.  Now, if we can just teach Governor Cuomo, Colin Kaepernick, and our youth this same lesson perhaps we will be able to hold on to that mantle of greatness for many generations to follow!

More “liberals hate America” swill from the Cult of Hate, hypocrisy, ignorance and lies. They FEEL liberals hate America, so it MUST be true.

Hypocrisy on display: “His (Trump’s) efforts are succeeding in many regards to making America great again”. Implying America was NOT great. He did it again with, “Maybe America isn’t that great.”

A Democrat says, “It was never that great”. BAD, EVIL Democrat!! How dare one of them say something as stupid as Trump!

Their FEELINGS tell them the criminal lying agent of Putin is making America “great again”. Mr. Paine will have it both ways, thank you very much.

Has Trump made America great by ripping children from mothers’ arms, and threatening to imprison political opponents, and wanting to use the FBI as his personal political weapon against the other party? How great is that? How great is allowing polluters to dump MORE MERCURY into OUR air and chemicals in our water?

How great is America when its president calls for the imprisonment of political opponents? How great is America when its president calls global warming a “Chinese hoax”? How great is America when its president calls an investigation to REAL Russian interference a “witch hunt” and hoax?

How great is America when its president takes a knee to PUTIN in Helsinki and betrays our country?

How great is calling our free press the “enemy of the people” because they call out Trump’s lies and report facts and his agenda?

How great is America when its president praises dictators and insults our allies, and blamed Obama and Hillary for "founding ISIS"?

None of this angers Mr. Paine. What angers him is when liberals point to these facts and condemn the Party of Trump. Would Mr. Paine side with Trump and call this treason as well?

Mr. Paine,
Thank you for noticing my nerve. I FEEL I owe you due reciprocation for the honor of your adopting the content of one of my previous posts.

And I FEEL foolish to have FELT somehow included among "some of our leftist brothers and sisters".

What made me FEEL that way?

Now I FEEL guilty to have jumped to such a silly assumption.

Since I'm not among said "leftist brothers and sisters", I FEEL much relieved from your harsh judgment.

No hard FEELINGS. I appreciate your elucidating and entertaining words.

Thank you, good sir.

This should unnerve any peace loving citizen. As has been said here before today's leftist considers anyone to the right of Stalin to be "far right".

Stockholm (AFP) - The far-right Sweden Democrats (SD) on Friday said their leader Jimmie Akesson has received a letter with a death threat as the party is on course to win record support in Sunday's legislative election.

Seattle Times: A Republican Party office in Wyoming was set on fire just two days after opening, and police believe it was intentional.
Local police are working with federal authorities in their investigation.
Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney said in response that “the future of our nation depends upon our ability to exchange ideas and viewpoints, to argue and debate, free from violence and intimidation.” Liz, the left has no desire or plan to argue much less debate.

Else where:
Vandals in Nebraska threw a brick through the window of a local GOP office in July. They left behind a spray-painted message: “ABOLISH ICE.”

A North Carolina GOP office was firebombed a month before the 2016 election, and a building adjacent to it was spray-painted with graffiti: “Nazi Republicans get out of town or else.”

BBC The front-runner in Brazil's presidential election, Jair Bolsonaro, has been stabbed at a campaign rally.

The far-right politician was attacked in a crowd in the south-east state of Minas Gerais.

The suspected stabber, Adélio Bispo de Oliveira was affiliated to PSOL between May 2007 and December 2017, according to Plataforma.

Wikipedia: PSOL is the Socialism and Liberty Party of Brazilian with 147,096 active members. PSOL is a left-wing party which is self-described as a socialist and democratic party.

Is it lost on anyone that the Wash Post, NBC, CNN, BBC, FOX, NYT, etc. didn't research the accused stabbers political standings? Nope, it's crickets. If I could find it surely they could have also. They didn't want to look, didn't want YOU to know.

But you see their biased narrative doesn't allow for that, anymore than for them to report someone as being "far left". Death threats from left, "far" or other wise, aren't reported. It's not the narrative. The left will claim it was an inside job to make it look like these acts were done by the left. Could it be the left is not peace loving?

First, WHATABOUT all MM's crap???

Now back to the topic.

Let’s see how I could FEEL included in a group with “some of our leftist brothers and sisters”. We would certainly disagrees with, “He is indeed restoring America. His efforts are succeeding in many regards to making America great again.”

No person is named, no real examples or quotes were presented as evidence to support his broad accusations.

The first names turned out to be the Obamas. And they hate America. Since I voted for him, I wonder if I am such

Did Obama really say America was deeply and egregiously flawed? No evidence cited. This would be another false accusation inflating FEELINGS of anger and resentment.

No evidence was cited when accusing Obama and “Some leftists” of being satiated by class-warfare, racial divisions and strife. Now we have a lot more of those false accusations intended to inflate FEELINGS of ANGER and HATE.

But whatabout Cuomo? Yeah, whatabout him?

Whatabout the 11-year-old girl!!!

Good God.

Poor Teachers FEELINGS got hurt by an 11 year old girl.

It is in my rights that I am allowed to kneel.” She continued, “I kind of wanted to show people that what’s going on is not okay,”

And THAT is the teachable lesson. I’m with her. God Bless America and our freedom of speech. And damn Trump and his cult for attacking that freedom.

And then one takes a step back and puts the Obamas, Clintons, New York Times, CNN, college students and professors, and the talking-head pundits on the left aside...

It’s looking like I AM one of those “leftist brothers and sisters”.

Perhaps I need to be corrected again, sir.

Amy Fiscus, the New York Times’ national security editor, criticized former President Barack Obama’s prosecution of anonymous government sources Friday.
More Obama liea.

In his speech at the University of Illinois Friday, Obama said that he, unlike Trump, never threatened to shut down media outlets.

“I complained plenty about Fox News, but you never heard me threaten to shut them down, or call them enemies of the people,” he said.

Fiscus found this argument wanting.

“Your DOJ also prosecuted more leak investigations than all other presidents’ combined. Come on,” Fiscus wrote.

Plus Obama spied on reporters. But leftist will deny like they deny their hate filled actions as I out lined above.

Mr. Dubya, I really didn't write this post with you specifically in mind; however, upon your seeing many of these issues I listed within yourself, then perhaps if the Birkenstock fits... :)

"Just because we say Trump and his Klan and his neo-Nazis, and his white supremacist supporters are racists, the real snowflakes FEELINGS get hurt..." ~DD

Dave, I acknowledge that there are some racists and their ilk that voted for and support Trump. That is a miniscule and negligible amount of the electorate that actually support him though. That is simply a left-wing talking point to make them think they have moral superiority. They are so rarely in the position of even THINKING that they have the moral high ground that they aren't quite sure what that feels like though. A vastly overwhelming majority of those that voted for Trump are simply regular everyday Americans that were tired of the politicians, the race-baiting, the class warfare, and the incompetence of D.C. They were willing to try something different, so the pendulum swung back from the far left of Obama to the right once again. The funny thing is that the left refuse to acknowledge the racist black panthers, SOME BLM folks and others that supported and do support their side of the aisle. I guess their victims trump everyone else though, right Dave?

"Did Obama really say America was deeply and egregiously flawed? No evidence cited. This would be another false accusation inflating FEELINGS of anger and resentment." ~ DD

Dave, all you have to do is actually read what I wrote and use a little common sense. If one is not proud of their country until one actually gets into the White House, that suggests that the nation is deeply flawed in their opinion. Further, one does not attempt to "fundamentally transform" a nation unless a person thinks that country is egregiously flawed? American exceptionalism is an anachronism to Obama. Simple reasoning can be a valuable tool when you stop playing the victim and use logic instead of hurt feelings, sir.

"No evidence was cited when accusing Obama and 'Some leftists' of being satiated by class-warfare, racial divisions and strife." ~ DD

Again, step out of your safe space and think about this using logic. Why would Obama/leftists constantly and consistently increase the welfare roles while demonizing the "evil rich" for not paying "their fair share", all the while they champion SOME of the racist and violent BLM protests like in Missouri thereby inflaming racial tensions when the thug "gentle giant" got shot for trying to take an officer's gun? Instead of keeping out of a local matter, instead Obama and his "justice department" stoked the flames of racial strife. He did everything to punish productive citizens while rewarding the lazy with increased government programs and subsidies, including the failed Obamacare fiasco.

"And THAT is the teachable lesson. I’m with her. God Bless America and our freedom of speech. And damn Trump and his cult for attacking that freedom." ~ DD

Indeed! God bless America and our freedom of speech, even when I disagree with that hateful and ignorant speech from the left. The little leftist indoctrinated girl did have the right to be a Kaepernick clone if she wanted. That wasn't the point. The point is that she too is being taught to hate America as an unjust and evil republic. Your support of that suggests that indeed I probably should have had you specifically in mind when writing this too. That is not meant to hurt your feelings but simply a matter of fact of which you have perhaps inadvertently corroborated, sir.

Dave Dubya said...

Mr. Paine,

Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

I acknowledge that there are some racists and their ilk that voted for and support Trump

But your standards of racism and bigotry are very generous towards them. The GOP agenda is vote suppression for minorities. That is simply a fact.

Yet you seem to think the greater problem is a larger number of America-hating leftists. I told you what they hate. They hate far Right policies that rig the economy and elections in favor of the minority of elites and rural whites. They hate inequality under justice, suppressed economic opportunity, cruelty by military action, and racism by law enforcement, NOT America. But you won’t admit to this fact. I think you WANT to accuse them of hating America, to satisfy your idea of patriotism and hate for them

If there are enemies of democracy and fair representation, and trampling of the consent of the governed, it is absolutely from the Right. Those are the American ideals under attack.

You take the Trumpian definition of America. He, his Party, and his ilk are NOT America. In fact THEY are the minority.

The funny thing is that the left refuse to acknowledge the racist black panthers

Another false accusation with no supporting evidence. As I recall, you’ve indicated a BLM member is “racist” for wanting reparations?

Your accusation for Obama, once again, ignores the context of the very words you use against him.

Further, one does not attempt to "fundamentally transform" a nation unless a person thinks that country is egregiously flawed?

This ignores the flaws he saw.

This is what he really said:

“After decades of broken politics in Washington, and eight years of failed policies from George W. Bush, and 21 months of a campaign that's taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California, we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.

In five days, you can turn the page on policies that put greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks on Main Street. In five days, you can choose policies that invest in our middle class, and create new jobs, and grow this economy, so that everyone has a chance to succeed, not just the CEO, but the secretary and janitor, not just the factory owner, but the men and women on the factory floor."

Do you recall the America Obama inherited from Bush? Do you understand that is the context?

It was the policies of Bush America, NOT America itself. But we know how nuance is difficult for conservatives.

You also ignore the context of Michelle’s words. How is this substantially different from the sentiments of “Make America great again”? Clearly a double standard.

"For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback."

If one is not proud of their country until one actually gets into the White House, that suggests that the nation is deeply flawed in their opinion.

Your facts are wrong again. This was said months before the convention, during the primaries. But your conclusion is the same, no doubt. You WANT to hate the Obamas for hating America.

That seems your only rationale here. You will bend facts to your beliefs.

Dave Dubya said...

He did everything to punish productive citizens while rewarding the lazy with increased government programs and subsidies, including the failed Obamacare fiasco.

Wow. You played your victim card, bitter resentment, and unfounded accusation in that last sentence alone. We know you see criticizing greedy rich conservatives as “demonizing the evil rich" just as you see criticizing conservative policy failures as “hating America”.

Don’t project your beliefs of “safe space” onto me. There can be no logic without supporting evidence and reason.

Once again your rejection of facts and evidence is clear.

Obama inherited the Bush Recession. You hate him because the recovery wasn’t better. You hate him because public safety nets were more needed during a Great Recession.

I know your disdain for fact-checking, but here is what happened under that “America-hating socialist”:

The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs. The unemployment rate dropped to below the historical norm.
Average weekly earnings for all workers were up 4.0 percent after inflation. The gain was 3.7 percent for just production and nonsupervisory employees.
After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.
The number of people lacking health insurance dropped by 15 million. Premiums rose, but more slowly than before.

https://www.factcheck.org/2017/09/obamas-final-numbers/

While you cling to your evidence-free beliefs, food stamps were DECREASED during every year of his second term.

Did you know that? Why would that happen if he wanted MORE on welfare? You want to hate Obama, so you bend facts to your beliefs.

You offer no evidence of support for violent protest. You falsely assume the worst of motives. BLM was formed after the racist killing of Trayvon Martin. Racist Right wingers reacted by praising Zimmerman and printing images of people in hoodies as targets. There was no reason for the killing of Brown, or any unarmed person, even after his attempt to grab the gun. He didn’t get the gun, he got shot down in the street. I blame both Brown and the cop. Neither had the judgment or temperament to diffuse or address the situation. For all we know the cop may have called Brown a N____R, before the incident unraveled. We only have HIS word. Cops lie all the time, especially to get out of trouble.

Now you accuse an 11 year-old girl of hating America because she didn’t conform to YOUR demands of forced patriotism.

It is in my rights that I am allowed to kneel.” She continued, “I kind of wanted to show people that what’s going on is not okay,”

Again, didn’t MAGA suggest the same damn thing as “what’s going on is not okay”? Double standards again. I guess that’s only OK if you are a conservative or Trumpie. I doubt you will see the double standard and hypocrisy. Those facts don’t fit your beliefs.

the failed Obamacare fiasco It was not a failed fiasco for millions of Americans. While that may heal the sick, sorry it hurts your FEELINGS. ;-)

Dave, it's very apparent Mr. Paine has succumbed to the racist meanness, bullying, and total irrationality of Donald Trump and his deplorable base.

Just as in Germany's 1930s, a portion of America's disenchanted have turned toward scapegoating, and promises of a return to economic prosperity, from a mean-spirited and mentally unbalanced demagogue.

Mr. Paine, who has always prided himself in his traditional conservatism, has also fallen under the spell of alt-right white supremacist anti-democratic rhetoric and propaganda. He may claim he doesn't support it, yet at the same time he doesn't denounce it either. The net result is the same.

There's no reason to watch old video or read historical documents about the rise to power of fascism and the Third Reich. All one needs to do is watch what's happening in this country today.

Although the setting is modern, and the technology more sophisticated -- the raw negative emotion and illogical blaming of groups they've been convinced are the reasons for their distress and failing standard of living, remains the same.

It's deja vu, all over again. Our only hope is the guardrails hold.

JG,
While Mr. Paine basks in the greatness of Trump America, my questions of that greatness go unanswered.

How great is America when the ruling party defends and shields a man sworn under oath to be a criminal co-conspirator in campaign law violations? How great is America when the Party of Trump's House Intelligence Committee rejects evidence, and clears the Trump campaign's contacts with Russian agents?

How great is America when the Party of Trump insults our Constitution and refused the Black president's Constitutional Supreme Court appointment? How great is America when Trump can appoint to the Supreme Court a party operative who has declared a president cannot be charged, indicted, subpoenaed, or investigated? He will not even say Trump cannot pardon himself. This is open appeasement of a criminal president.

None of this angers Mr. Paine. What angers him is when liberals point to these facts and condemn the Party of Trump. Would Mr. Paine side with Trump and call this treason as well? Just like he accused the 11 year-old girl of hating America by daring to say, “I kind of wanted to show people that what’s going on is not okay.”

SHE seems to understand the above questions. God bless her, and her parents, and her freedom of speech. Only the authoritarian radical Right would say that is "hating America".

Better not question the greatness of Trump America.

Their message is clear. America is great now, but was NOT great under the Black President.

Whatever could that mean?

Dave Dubya said...

What things has President Trump said or done that show him to be hateful and or racist?

Gee, that’s a tough one.

Like “What things said by President Trump show him to be a liar”?

Or, “What things has President Trump said or done that show him to be Putin’s puppet?” What the hell’s a Helsinki??

I mean, really. How many times have we answered this, only to be deflected, dismissed, and demeaned?

There’s a reason why every Klansman, Neo-Nazi, white supremacist, bigot, ignorant rube, and radical alt-Right Republican loves Trump. And it aint the big tax cuts and deregulation for the polluters and Wall Street elites.

It's the racism. It's the hate. Trump hates the people they hate. Trump has a history of discrimination and anger against Blacks. He feeds resentment and anger at Liberals, journalists, educators, scientists, unions, non-law-enforcement public employees.

Refusing rentals to Blacks. Demanding the death penalty for exonerated young Black kids. Years of racist birther attacks on the Black President. Accusing the Black President of founding ISIS. Open bigotry for Muslims and Mexicans. “very fine people” marching with tiki torches, Pardoning fellow racist birther and criminal sheriff Joe Arpaio. “Shithole countries”, etc. etc.

That just the racism.

The hate thunders from Trump rallies with the same cult rage as an anti-American rally in North Korea. Enemies are named, personal accusations and lies spew and churn more hate. Chants of “Lock her up!” break out. Threatening a political opponent with jail during a televised debate. Attacking our legal and free press as the “enemy of the people” is nothing but a hate filled lie. Journalists are being assaulted and receiving death threats.
Etc. etc. etc.

Trump’s hate is obvious every day in his tweets.

Half the country has figured out the president is racist. Soon everyone will know he is a criminal. Trump Tower is the American home of the Russian mob. Follow the money.

Well, since I made the effort to answer Majormajor, I’m sure it will be much easier for him to answer this:

What things has President Trump said or done that show him to be kind to children, women, Puerto Ricans, journalists, educators, scientists, minorities, Muslims, and liberals, or John McCain?

Jefferson's Guardian said...

Re: Trump's recent campaign rally in Billings, MT...

Have you seen the video of the "plaid-shorted guy" selected to stand in the crowd immediately behind Trump? His facial expressions were priceless!

So much so, and right on camera as Trump spewed his nonsense down in front, a female Trump campaign official walked up to him, spoke to him a few seconds, and as "plaid-shirted guy" exited and walked out of view of the camera, the female campaign official took over his place within the Trump supporter backdrop.

Then...two additional female campaigners walked into view of the camera -- fake smiles beaming -- as Trump droned on in his 6th-grade level hateful way.

Interviewed later, "plaid-shirted guy" said he refused to compromise and subvert his political values after being instructed and expected to cheer on Trump's insanity. Once leaving the stage, he was escorted to a room and interviewed by law enforcement officials and the Secret Service about what happened, and told to not say anything about it.

The "fake crowds" are even abandoning Trump's escapades -- like rats from a sinking ship.

I wonder whether Trump will accuse "plaid-shirted guy" of treason? ;-)

All I can say DD is you have VERY low threshold for hate when it comes from a non liberal and VERY blind eye for hate when it comes from liberal.

Example: Nation of Islam.

"The "fake crowds" are even abandoning Trump's escapades". Where's the proof?

MM has a problem with my condemning NOI as racists?

Whodathunk?

Maybe he wants to deflect from this:

Rep. Ron DeSantis, the Republican contender for Florida’s gubernatorial election, has spoken four times at a conference organized by conservative activist David Horowitz, The Washington Post reported. Horowitz propagates the notion that whites in America are consistently victims of a race war that he calls “black skin privilege.” He also frequently discusses his anti-Muslim views, once calling Palestinians Nazis.

“The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state,” DeSantis said on Fox News.

Many Republicans are, and most VOTE for, racists. Fact. Bottom line. Period.

Is it "hate" to report that only 750 people showed up to see Obama in far left California?

Far left George Soros related Think Progress reported over the weekend about former President Obama’s event in Anaheim, California –

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA — Former President Obama made his first campaign stop of the midterm elections in Orange County, California Saturday to stump for seven Democratic House candidates running in districts currently held by Republicans but that Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

Is it racist to say that there are more people in line for the restrooms at a Trump rally than showed up for a campaign stop for "The One"?

Majormajor said...

Is Maxine Waters hateful?

Oh, and here's the rest of the quote about the 750 at the Obama speech,

"About 750 people attended the event at Anaheim Convention Center, where Obama delivered a short speech centered on unity and the “politics of hope.” And, after a story about getting kicked out of Disneyland when he was caught smoking in the Magic Kingdom after a concert as a teenager, Obama issued an impassioned critique of Trump and the state of American democracy and encouraged the crowd to back the candidates he came to support."

Can we say the thrill is gone?

Former President Barack Obama campaigned Saturday in Anaheim, California, in front of 750 people with Democrat Gil Cisneros, who is facing accusations of sexual misconduct from a fellow Democrat.

Obama took the stage next to Cisneros at a rally that featured all seven Democrats running for Congress in key districts targeted by the party in the state. Each district is currently represented by a Republican but voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Obama seemed unperturbed by the allegations against Cisneros, declaring: “We could not be prouder of Gil.”[…]

Others on the left, such as the activists of UltraViolet, which opposes sexual misconduct, have called on Democrats to withdraw their support for Cisneros — but Obama, apparently, has refused.

Putting politics before sexual harassment?

"Is it racist to say that there are more people in line for the restrooms at a Trump rally than showed up for a campaign stop for "The One"?" -- MM

I think you are using the incorrect word again, MM. The word isn't racist. The word you're looking for is "wrong". It is, indeed, wrong to say that there are more people in line for the restrooms at a Trump rally than showed up for a campaign stop for "The One". It's also interesting that "The One" is going on a "campaign stop" but our current President is going to a "Rally". The use of language here is interesting to me.

Things willful ignorance will never understand:

Soros is a capitalist. How can he be “far left”? Only in the radical mind of the far Right.

Putting politics before sexual harassment? The hypocrite wonders.

The alleged harassment is disputed by eyewitnesses.

Fazli alleges that on February 24, 2018, she and Cisneros “chit chatted about Rep. Waters” party while waiting for the elevator,” and Cisneros “was intoxicated.” She alleges Cisneros asked her, “Should we go back to your room?” Multiple eyewitnesses have verified that Cisneros was sober and not where Fazli claims he was on February 24, including local Emmy award-winning journalist, FOX News 5 San Diego Reporter Jaime Chambers. They report Cisneros being lucid and sober.”

Is it "hate" to report that only 750 people showed up to see Obama in far left California?

Considering the source, very likely.

MM is deflecting from the fact the small rally was in Ballroom E, not the arena. Tickets were limited. But you know, facts.....

The Orange County Register reported that the rally would be at the Anaheim Convention Center, Ballroom E, with doors opening at 10 a.m.

“Tickets will be required for entry and are available through some local Democratic groups and congressional campaigns,” the paper said, later reporting that the event is “invitation-only.”

A representative of Mike Levin’s campaign in the Orange-San Diego County straddling 49th district told Times of San Diego that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee was the source of information on tickets. The DCCC did not immediately respond to a request for details.
The Los Angeles Times added that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the rally organizer, says it anticipates 750 people will attend.

"Where's the proof?" ~~ Majormajor (aka "Chuck")

Proof of fake crowds or abandoning Trump's "antics"?

The fake crowds -- or more appropriately, the lack of crowds --
started with Trump's inauguration on January 20th, 2017.

More recently, I was pointing out the "plaid-shirted guy" and his forced departure and detainment by law enforcement and Trump's Secret Service.

All fake, staged events, holding zero credibility -- the next step in Trump's continuing "reality TV" digression.

"Chuck", did you have a chance to view the "plaid-shirted guy" from Billings? Pull it up, since I'm confident your Fox News refused to show it.

No, but it could explain Trump's tendency to make people sick with his boisterous lies and dividing language.

Perhaps a more convenient option would be air-sickness bags at every seat.

Mr. Paine would rather admire Trump and accuse liberals of hating America, and Majormajor would rather deflect from this:

David Leonhardt in the New York Times brings up the elephant in the room:

...Putin really does have leverage over Trump. Maybe it’s something shocking, like a sex tape or evidence of campaign collusion by Trump himself. Or maybe it’s the scandal that’s been staring us in the face all along: Illicit financial dealings — money laundering — between Trump’s business and Russia.

The latest reason to be suspicious is Trump’s attacks on a formerly obscure Justice Department official named Bruce Ohr. Trump has repeatedly criticized Ohr and called for him to be fired. Ohr’s sin is that he appears to have been marginally involved in inquiries into Trump’s Russian links. But Ohr fits a larger pattern. In his highly respected three-decade career in law enforcement, he has specialized in going after Russian organized crime.

It just so happens that most of the once-obscure bureaucrats whom Trump has tried to discredit also are experts in some combination of Russia, organized crime and money laundering.

It’s true of Andrew McCabe (the former deputy F.B.I. director whose firing Trump successfully lobbied for), Andrew Weissmann (the only official working for Robert Mueller whom Trump singles out publicly) and others. They are all Trump bogeymen — and all among “the Kremlin’s biggest adversaries in the U.S. government,” as Natasha Bertrand wrote in The Atlantic. Trump, she explained, seems to be trying to rid the government of experts in Russian organized crime.

Consider: The financially rickety Trump Organization, shunned by most mainstream banks, long relied on less scrupulous Russian investors. “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Donald Trump Jr. said a decade ago. “We have all the funding we need out of Russia,” Eric Trump reportedly said in 2013. And what was the rare major bank to work with Trump? Deutsche Bank, which has a history of illegal Russian money laundering.

Dave, you're totally correct, although the symptomatic signs of this cancer-like sickness are the warning signs of something very, very serious.

It's like a plague -- very contagious unless adequately inoculated.

The exchange between the US and Russian presidents was picked up by microphone without either leader apparently knowing.

Mr Medvedev, who steps down in May, said he would pass on Mr Obama's message to his successor Vladimir Putin, according to an audio recording of comments the two leaders made during a meeting in Seoul, South Korea.

Mr Obama says: "On all these issues, but particularly missile defence, this, this can be solved but it's important for him to give me space."

Mr Medvedev replies: "Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you …"

Mr Obama retorts: "This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility."

TREASON!

Just as those science-educated on the right will -- with the realization that the corporate mass-media will omit the facts and collaborate the official government's conspiracy theory that it was pulled off by 19 less than incompetent Arab pilots.

If the government's account is indeed correct -- quick!...double or triple or quadruple the defense budget now!!! $600 billion isn't nearly enough to stop less than a score of amateur Arab pilots from foiling and overwhelming our air defense system!

They're semi-retired. I heard rumors both make appearances with the Doctor Trump Traveling Medicine Show, acting in his flea circus and freak show, while peddling the doctor's feel-good elixir and other known snake-oils.

I understand it's quite popular with the "lesser-kind" and others looking for escapes from the realities of what ails their decrepit bodies, rotten souls and otherwise failed lives.

Doctor Trump knows how to play to these type. His shows continue to attract many -- particularly in the mountain states, upper plains, rustbelt -- anywhere he knows he can dupe those who can't see, refuse to hear, or otherwise look to blame others instead of opening their minds.

That's just the facts! ;-)

I hope not, either, but 'tis the season!

Global warming certainly has made these systems bigger and more powerful -- and they'll only get worse as the years pass. I wouldn't even consider property in Florida, for example, although skeptics and low-information Trimpies continue to flock there.

We deal with this every few years, but with as wet a summer as we've had it could be a problem.

It serves no purpose whatsoever to try and converse with them anymore. I have tried in the past and shared my thoughts on many of these very issues ad nauseum. They know where I stand, but will most assuredly twist my positions into being intolerant, ignorant, racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, greedy, and capitalistic.

The last one, I will proudly claim, the rest of the epithets are more instructive of the characters of those casting the aspersions than they are of me. My prayers are with them for the conversion of such dark and stony hearts.
