Giving In To Progressives

Over the course of all of the years that I have spent arguing with progressives, I have finally determined that I should no longer attempt to fight an inexorable force.  That said, I am now in agreement with some of their most ardent wishes as follows:

A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men.

B. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women.

C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies.

D. In three generations, there will be no progressives left in America.

I love it when a plan comes together!

In keeping with your new enlightened position, I will respond in kind.

Let those who want to own machine guns and tanks own them. Allow those who want to defend their states’ rights against their country, arm themselves and make war. Let those who want to allow God to save them, be saved by God. Let those who want to stop stem cell research and most medical advances, stop them. Let those who want to curtail the unconstitutional actions of the EPA and the FDA, curtail them. Let those who want to allow republicans run the nation, live in a nation run by republicans.

Soon, there will be no more conservatives left.

Touche' indeed, Mr. Myste! :)

Of course you used broad generalizations and succumbed to certain fallacies in your characterizations.

I was scrupulously careful not to do so with mine! LOL!

Comparing like to like, I rather enjoyed those years living in a Republican nation (2001-06); not so much in a Democratic nation (2009-10).

The reason you don't like the period we're going through right now is because it's the hangover after the drunken stupidity of the Bush era.

Oh my, what an original idea, blame Bush.

God help us if it comes to pass, but I wonder if Obama gets re-elected if he will still be blaming Bush when in his seventh and eighth year in office?

Mr. Paine,

I know Clinton was not still blaming Reagan and Bush after he fixed their jacked up economic messes. I assume Obama also will no longer blame Bush JR. However, if we keep a republican House, then Obama is wrong to blame Bush. The republican House will be the problem.

If that's the case the hangover from Obama is going to feel like a 5 day meth binge. Compete with lost teeth and an STD.
