Twenty Things that Militant Leftists Have Taught Me

Our nation is truly amazing.  We have been a beacon of freedom for the world and a powerhouse of ingenuity and economic success that has lifted billions out of poverty through reliance on those freedoms and the power of capitalism throughout our history.  True, we don’t always live up to our stated ideals as a nation, but the arc of justice has always bent towards the realization of those ideals for all Americans, and even the world.

Sadly, our nation has now become so divided politically that we are now foundering and on the verge of economic and even political collapse.  Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals generally all want for our nation to succeed and to be strong and secure in our freedoms.

Leftists, however, have a different agenda, and sadly there are way too many of them throughout our nation and entrenched in the highest seats of government.  The left simply is about emphasizing hate, division, and destruction.  They seemingly want nothing more than to destroy what they see as a racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, and greedy nation.  Almost incredibly they are factually wrong on nearly every single issue they champion.  Following are the things that I have learned from these leftist agitators, including from the comment sections of this very blog over the years.

1. Burning cities and fomenting violence by BLM and Antifa are acts of social justice, but the storming of the capitol by idiots on 1/6 was an insurrection and attempted coup.

      2. Nearly all cops are racist, except the heroic capitol police that tried to protect the leftists in congress on January 6th.

      3. Trump is treasonous for not immediately condemning the 1/6 riot.  General Milley is a hero, despite undermining an elected president and ignoring the chain of command by telling his Chinese counterpart that he would notify him if the president were going to attack China.

      4. The left decries the nebulous authoritarianism of Trump, but seemingly has no problem with Biden’s vaccine and mask mandates.  After all, “This is not about your freedom or personal choice” says the true authoritarian Biden.  Indeed, military members refusing to be vaccinated as per his orders are subject to dishonorable discharges.  And now the latest is that Biden and the left want to be able to monitor your income if your account exceeds $600.  THIS is authoritarianism, folks.

      5.  The Left claims that they love America and are sometimes even comprised of “old fashioned Americans” and yet they find fatal flaws in our nation, its founding, and its governance.  America is a racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic nation since its inception according to the left, and yet they still love it supposedly.  If I truly believed all of those things as a conservative, I would not love my country either.

      6.  Another thing the left has taught me, is that they are the “party of science”.  Science tells them that gender is fluid.  Men can be “chest-feeding” people for their babies.  Men can also be “menstruating people”.  It is fine for female-identifying men to compete in women’s sports, go to women’s locker rooms and restrooms, and even be incarcerated in women’s prisons.  The party of science also tells us that an in-utero baby is not a human life until it passes through the birth canal of a pregnant person.  Only then is humanity magically bestowed upon the mass of tissue… unless it is accidentally delivered at Kermit Gosnell’s clinic.  Then that baby can be left to die there too.

      7. The left believes that there are no negative consequences to continued government spending as we approach $30 trillion in national debt.  They are unconcerned about the inflation caused by this, the pending collapse of mom & pop businesses, and the resulting rise of unemployment as a consequence of this.  As long as we spend on non-existent problems and pad the accounts of special interest buddies, the money is well spent to the Left.

      8.  The border is not in crisis according to the left, even when 14,000 Haitian and Latin American refugees are camping under the international bridge in Del Rio, Texas waiting to get into the country.  President Trump was working to secure the border so we could know who was coming in.  The left under Biden gives a wink and a nod to all of the illegal aliens entering America, without even being tested for Covid.  Evidently being illegal means you are not subject to ANY law or “mandate” that Americans are.  The only crisis the left sees is the mounted border patrol using non-existent whips on illegals.

      9.  The left insists that the mainstream media is objective or corporatist at worst.  They have no explanation why the fake Russia hoax was covered ad nauseum, but the follow up fake Steele dossier paid for by Hillary was quickly dismissed.  They claim Trump was guilty of crimes for asking Ukraine to look into the actual crime of Biden withholding money from Ukraine unless they fired the investigator into Burisma, where Hunter Biden was a board member.  The left and its press castigate the 1/6 riot as an attempted coup, but turnaround and have no issues with General Milley going behind the president to “warn” our adversary in the even of a non-existent attack should it materialize.  Oh, and let’s not forget the leftist press’s near complete ignoring of the Hunter Biden laptop and all of the links to the misdoings of the Biden crime family upon it.

      10.  The left taught me that it is voter suppression to require photo ID for people to vote.  It is suppression to purge the dead and those that have moved away from state voter rolls.  It is suppression when the GOP gerrymanders districts to their favor, but not when Democrats do it.

      11.   The left has insisted that gun control is necessary to curb violence, even though a city like Chicago with the toughest gun laws on the books is one of the worst for gun murders.  They insist that average Americans should have to jump through many hoops to own what they deem to be begrudgingly “acceptable” firearms, but they have no comments about Biden leaving billions of dollars in weaponry to the terrorist Taliban regime.

.      12.  I have been informed by leftists that wanting to keep as much of the hard-earned money I make as possible is greedy; however, those able-bodied people insisting on “free” government handouts are not greedy.

      13.  The left as portrayed by AOC recently, insist that the rich don’t pay their fair share, as she sports a “tax the rich” gown at a $35K per person gala in New York.  Here’s news for you leftists, the top 1% of income earners pay 40% of the nation’s taxes.

      14.  The left has no problems with Larry Elder, a conservative black man from South Central LA being labeled, by a major newspaper, as the “black face of white supremacy”.  They have no problem with a white woman wearing a gorilla mask throwing things at Elder while campaigning.  But Trump is the real racist.

15.   Leftists were incensed at the environmental impact and “destruction” caused by the Keystone pipeline in the U.S. and the hard-won energy independence that the Trump administration ushered in for us, but we hear not a peep about Biden blessing Russia’s oil pipeline to Europe, as American gas prices soar to over four or five dollars a gallon.

      16.  The nation’s leftists cried about Trump killing Iran’s terrorist general Soleimani as he prepared another attack on U.S. interests but you heard nary a peep from the “objective” press or the rest of the left about Biden’s killing of ten innocent civilians in a drone strike as “justice” for the terrorist attack in Afghanistan that his asinine orders allowed to happen.

      17.  The left championed leaving no man behind enemy lines when Obama traded Afghan terrorists in Gitmo (who are now a part of the new Taliban government) for the deserter and traitor Bo Bergdahl.  However, the hard-core leftists silence on the abandoning of hundreds of Americans to the whims of the evil Taliban is deafening.

      18.  Even the deep state leftists at the National Archives got in on the hate America band wagon when they labeled the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights as containing “harmful content” that might be hard for brainwashed snowflakes to read.

      19.  The left tells us that the very capitalism that has built the most powerful economy and provided more prosperity to more of its citizens than any system in human history is evil and should be curbed or outright abolished and replaced with foolish socialistic practices that have failed everywhere they have ever been tried throughout history.

      20.  The leftists delude themselves into thinking they have the moral high ground while denigrating God, unborn life, constitutional and natural freedoms, and insisting on using racism to fight non-existent systemic racism.   Oh, and the left also has taught me that even when they are wrong, they NEVER have to admit it, let alone apologize for it.

These are just a few of the items that leftists have taught me over the years.  They are wrong on all accounts, but it is interesting to see how these hateful and warped minds work to the rest of us conservatives and liberals that truly do still love America.

Dennis Prager on the Differences Between Leftism and Liberalism

I have been absolutely inundated with projects for work lately, so unfortunately my writing for the blog and even responding to some of the wilder comments posted on past articles simply hasn't happened.  That said, I came across this article written by Dennis Prager that I found to be quite interesting.

There are absolutely differences between a liberal and a leftist.  Unfortunately, in my opinion, the leftists are growing as a group in their influence, often times hardened through invincible ignorance. Conservatives and Liberals should unite in their denunciation of some of their more extremist views. Enjoy the article:

Leftism Is Not Liberalism. Here Are the Differences.
What is the difference between a leftist and a liberal?
Answering this question is vital to understanding the crisis facing America and the West today. Yet few seem able to do it. I offer the following as a guide.
Here’s the first thing to know: The two have almost nothing in common.
On the contrary, liberalism has far more in common with conservatism than it does with leftism. The left has appropriated the word “liberal” so effectively that almost everyone—liberals, leftists, and conservatives—thinks they are synonymous.
But they aren’t. Let’s look at some important examples.
Race: This is perhaps the most obvious of the many moral differences between liberalism and leftism.
The essence of the liberal position on race was that the color of one’s skin is insignificant. To liberals of a generation ago, only racists believed that race is intrinsically significant. However, to the left, the notion that race is insignificant is itself racist.
Thus, the University of California officially regards the statement, “There is only one race, the human race,” as racist.
For that reason, liberals were passionately committed to racial integration. Liberals should be sickened by the existence of black dormitories and separate black graduations on university campuses.

The Angry White Liberal

Here is an excellent article that captures the truth of the mood on the left, including many of my left-wing blogger friends' attitudes. You all know who you are! :) Cheers!

The Angry White Liberal
He's Back

by Matthew Continetti of The Weekly Standard

We've spent the month of August talking about alleged right-wing rage, but it's really time we started discussing the Angry White Liberal. When things aren't going his way, the Angry White Liberal wails and gnashes his teeth, rends his garments, and hurls invective at the opposition. His rhetoric and prose is so heated, it's gotten to the point where you need to put on oven mitts before opening the paper. He is so convinced of the righteousness of his positions that he lashes out uncontrollably at anybody who disagrees with him. For the Angry White Liberal, dissent is anathema. Antagonism is illegitimate. Only conformity to prevailing liberal opinion is enough to still his rage.

It's been awhile since the Angry White Liberal was spotted in the wild. He's been in hiding since 2006, when the electorate started handing victory after victory to the Democratic party. For a while there, whenever a liberal surveyed the political scene, it looked as though the country had finally come to its senses. Americans no longer deigned to elect conservatives to high office. In 2008 voters fell for the dulcet tones of a young, charismatic liberal senator from Illinois. A "new progressive era" was about to begin. James Carville's latest book, published earlier this year, promised to explain "how the Democrats will rule the next generation."

Then something bizarre began to happen. As Barack Obama's presidency unfurled, his approval ratings fell. The public showed skepticism at his major initiatives. The federal government bailed out GM and Chrysler over widespread public opposition. The costly economic stimulus bill appeared not to be working. The climate-change legislation that the House of Representatives passed on a party-line vote was D.O.A. in the Senate. And even though "health care" is not the top voter priority, even though the budget deficit stands at more than a trillion dollars, President Obama decided that this was the moment to remake one-sixth of the American economy.

The more Obama talked about health care reform, the further his numbers dropped. The country seemed caught in a time-warp. We'd been catapulted back to 2005, when another president attempted a major overhaul of the American welfare state. Then, too, the president deferred to Congress to come up with a plan. Then, too, as the president crisscrossed the nation, warning of the dangers of out-of-control entitlement spending, the public increasingly tuned him out. The innate conservatism of the American people--an instinctual resistance to sudden changes in existing social arrangements--came to the fore.

Such resistance became pronounced over the summer of 2009, when Congress went into recess and the people's representatives returned home to deal with actual people. Some of the constituents who showed up at the congressional town hall meetings behaved rudely. Some were kind of nutty. But, for better or worse, every oddball represented three or four or ten regular people who don't want to see another trillion dollars in federal spending, higher taxes, and page after page of mandates, not to mention likely cuts in Medicare and Medicaid. Regular people, in other words, who recognize that the unanticipated outcomes of government activity often outweigh the wished-for ones, and that the unanticipated consequences of the Democrats' current proposals may include (a) the end of the private health insurance market and (b) government rationing of health services.

The Angry White Liberal reaction? Outrage and calumny. Protest, which a few years ago was the highest form of patriotism, is now considered artificial, dishonest, misinformed, cynical, and mean-spirited. "An ugly campaign is underway," Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer wrote in USA Today on August 10, "not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. . . . Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American."

Meanwhile, Harry Reid referred to the town hall protestors as "evil-mongers." Senate finance committee chairman Max Baucus preferred "agitators." Congressman Eric Massa, Democrat of New York, accused Iowa Republican senator Charles Grassley of "treason" for criticizing the health care plan.

The King of the Angry White Liberals, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, wrote on August 14 that Grassley is "flat-out despicable." Resistance to the Democrats' plans, Krugman continued, amounts to an "outpouring of hate," the result of "the paranoia of a significant minority of Americans and the cynical willingness of leading Republicans to cater to that paranoia." (For the record, more Americans disapprove than approve of Obamacare.)

Time magazine columnist Joe Klein wrote that, "to be sure, there are honorable conservatives, trying to do the right thing"--thanks, Joe!--but the typical opponent of health reform is a "nihilist" and a "hypocrite" exploiting "cynicism about government" in a "disinformation jihad" aimed at the "tight, white, extremist bubble" that is the GOP. On the Rachel Maddow Show on August 19, star

Times columnist Frank Rich warned that the current debates surrounding health care resemble the "walk up to the Kennedy assassination."

Washington Post scribe Harold Meyerson, straight off the barricades, angrily denounced Baucus, who "persist[s] in the charade of bipartisan negotiations" despite the "increasing rigidity, insularity, and extremism of today's Republican party." When Whole Foods CEO John Mackey wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed advocating sensible, market-based improvements to health insurance law, the response from the left was to organize a boycott of his grocery chain. Pretty rigid, insular, and extreme.

Charges of racism are never far from the Angry White Liberal's lips. In a July 22, 2009, Huffington Post entry--the website is a sort of pressure cooker for liberal rage--the "award winning columnist, author and Chicago radio talk show host" Ray Hanania wrote that:

Although the Republicans and their so-called "Blue Dog" conservative Democrats claimed they oppose President Obama's health care plan because it would increase the nation's debt, the real reason is driven by racism and the fact that the majority who would benefit from health care reform are minorities, the poor and families burdened by uninsured health challenges.

How so? Explains Hanania, "I know this is true because these same conservatives were silent when President George W. Bush ratcheted up the nation's deficit to record highs without even a whimper." Ah.

On the Diane Rehm Show in August, Newsweek's Eleanor Clift speculated that opposition to Obamacare was an expression of the "racism" that was "latent" in the 2008 campaign. Bewildered by a few cases in which a voter had safely, legally, and constitutionally brought a firearm to an anti-Obama care rally, Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne noted that "guns were used on election days in the Deep South during and after Reconstruction to intimidate black voters and take control of state governments." Guns also were used in the invasion of Normandy. What's Dionne's point, except to imply that the gun-carriers (and, by extension, adversaries of Obamacare) are just like Bull Connor?

The Angry White Liberal finds it simply incomprehensible that somebody might honestly and in good faith disagree with the Democrats' efforts. On August 14, blogger Steve Benen wrote on the Huffington Post that the "far-right apoplexy is counter-intuitive." After all, "Why would people who stand to benefit from health care reform literally take to the streets and threaten violence in opposition to legislation that would help them and their families?"

Forget Benen's exaggerated claim of threatened violence. Note, instead, that Benen cannot conceive that someone might actually think the costs to the Democrats' program outweigh the unrealized and perhaps unachievable benefits. Hence he divides Obama's critics into five camps: the "partisans," the "tin-foil hats," the "greedy," the "dupes," and the "wonks." The "wonks," we are told, compose the "smallest of the groups." In Benen's view, then, millions of opponents of health care reform have no reasonable grounds for their opinion. That may satisfy the liberal's attitude of intellectual superiority. But it's also awfully condescending.

The Angry White Liberal directs his fury not only at conservatives. Another target is the Obama administration itself. After all, the White House has been unable to convince a majority of Americans that liberals are right and their health care reform is necessary. Comedian Jon Stewart opened a recent Daily Show by saying, "Mr. President, I can't tell if you're a Jedi--10 steps ahead of everything--or if this whole health care thing is kickin' your ass." In the Washington Post, Robert Kuttner blamed Obama's economic team, which is "far too cozy with Wall Street." For columnist Richard Cohen, Obama's "klutziness" has hampered reform. MSNBC host Ed Schultz said the White House was "dazed and confused." His colleague Rachel Maddow thinks the Democrats are "too scared of their own shadow."

All this vituperation, this unrelenting urge to discredit opposing views, builds and builds. It's uncontainable. Inconsolable. First the Angry White Liberal blames conservatives, then Democrats, then Obama . . . before you know it, he'll be blaming the entire country for the failure to pass "comprehensive health care reform." Everyone, that is, but himself.

Ever Notice?

Have ya ever noticed that:

If a conservative doesn't like guns, they don't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, then no one should have one.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don't eat meat.
If a liberal is, they want to ban all meat products for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly enjoy their life.
If a liberal is homosexual, they loudly demand legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic is conservative, they see themselves as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal wants any mention of God or religion silenced.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping
for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that his neighbors pay for his.

If a conservative agrees with a charity, he supports it with his time or money.
A liberal will insist that tax payer money be allocated to support their charities.

That a conservative, while annoyed or occasionally angered about certain aspects thereof, still loves, supports, and KNOWS that he lives in the greatest country on God's earth,
While a liberal will run down the nation's accomplishments, economy, and freedoms as being the moral equivalent or worse than many third world dictatorships.

Ever notice these things?

Left-wing Hypocrisy

It seems to me that I recall Nancy Pelosi claiming how the Democrats, once in charge again, were going to clean up the corruption in Washington D.C. It seems to me that then-candidate Obama claimed that should he win, his administration was going to be honest and transparent to the people. I knew better back when these two first made these statements. After all, look at their past history. Things were NOT going to change now simply because they said so.

Unfortunately, most Americans are too busy just trying to take care of their business and family in their day to day lives so that they didn't know the details and sordid history of these people. All they heard were these wonderful refreshing sound bites placed out there for mass consumption by a leftist/statist-friendly media.

After the idiot Republicans completely abrogated their responsibilities and spent and governed like the worst of the Democrats, who can blame the American people for throwing the bums out. Unfortunately the replacements are even worse than those that were replaced, not that one would know it from the White House-compliant media. According to the press, the second coming of Camelot has finally arrived.

President Obama said he was going to be a "post-partisan" president. That statement on the face of it is laughable in the extreme for anyone that actually looked back at his career. NEVER did Obama compromise on any legislation or support a right-of-center proposal. His idea of compromise is for the right to come over to his side of the issue. In the current health care debate, he said he was open to Republican ideas and would meet with them to discuss their proposals. When the Republican leadership attempted to do so back in May, they were ignored by Obama. So much for post-partisanship.

Now we have an administration that admonished its predecessor for inept governing and out-of-control spending that has gone and routinely violated the US Constitution in it governing in completely unprecedented fashion in the first eight months of office and has proposed spending that is more than all 43 of the preceding presidential administrations COMBINED.

We have seen this administration use the Constitution for toilet paper in its appointing of unprecedented amounts of unelected and unaccountable czars that report only to Obama.
We have seen the federal take over of PRIVATE companies (i.e. GM & Chrysler for starters), fire the CEO's, stipulate what compensation would be for the executives, and then tell them what kind of cars they were going to make. All of this from a president that "had no desire to run a car company". As if to exacerbate the problem, our executive branch of government then told GM and Chrysler which privately owned and purchased franchises they would be closing.

How did we ever get to this point in America? But it does no good to put a name to this type of governing. Those on the left claim it is irresponsible, hyperbole, or racism to name what this is. Marxism! The left claims that these are meaningless labels that only serve to inflame the right and stifle real debate.

The fact is they don't want debate; they want capitulation from the right. Further they have the votes, if they remain in lock-step, to pass their new world order socialist agenda. That's what We The People voted for last November, and such is their right, but don't expect me to be happy about it or be quiet about it. I, for one, am more then a little fed up with the left-wing hypocrisy, but I guess that term nowadays is rather redundant.

What Leftists Hate Most

I came accross this article many years ago and found it when I was cleaning up my hardrive the other day. While a few of the items are dated, the list is pretty comprehensive. I would be inclinded to add Sarah Palin to the list since she was a highly successful governor that was Christian, conservative, and put her pro-life actions where her rhetoric was. Enjoy...
What Leftists Hate Most

POLITICS IS, by its very nature, a reactionary enterprise. It's outrage — outrage about the existing order of things or outrage about whatever threatens the existing order of things — that provokes politically interested people to pay attention. At the heart of every political struggle is a sacred cow, whether it's the Second Amendment, the welfare state, marriage, or Roe v. Wade. On opposing sides are those who want to lead the cow to slaughter and those standing guard with shotguns at the barn door.

Because what outrages politicians, activists, and political movements often sheds more light on their motivations than any of their publicly stated positions, I've compiled the following list of some of the modern American left's most reviled people, objects, institutions, and ideas. The list is broad but not exhaustive, based on a life spent around leftists (I have lived in three states: Massachusetts, New York, and California) and the observations of some astute friends.
These are the things that most infuriate "progressives," followed by a brief explanation of why. The mere mention of these words will cause the typical left-winger to see (even more) red:

Cars — especially SUVs; the bigger and safer the vehicle, the worse. For leftists, cars are a polluting, annoying expression of individual freedom — a painful reminder that the longstanding efforts of social engineers to herd Americans into mass transit remain unfulfilled.

Guns — and the irritating insistence of "gun nuts" (anyone who owns a gun legally) to look after their own safety rather than trust in the benevolence and capabilities of the all-protecting state.

Suburbs, AKA "sprawl" — and the selfish desire of so many Americans to own their own homes with their own garages and their own backyards.

Straight white men — especially the dead ones that once dominated classroom curricula, and any institutions where they once flourished, such as military academies, prep schools, and fraternal organizations.

Jokes about sexual orientation, race, or gender — unless they're about straight, white men.

Jokes about most anything else — except for the items on this list.

Traditional families — Heather's mommies both deserve full health benefits now, but married couples ought to be penalized with higher taxes until they either die or divorce.

Abstinence — and for that matter, all traditional sexual mores and anyone so backward as to demand them of their children, politicians, or clergy.

Tobacco — the one form of instant gratification the left won't permit.

Religious "zealots" — that is, adherents of any faith that that makes claims on truth, especially Catholicism, Orthodox Judaism, Mormonism, and Evangelical branches of Christianity (but not Islam).

The rich — anyone who has earned a lot of money no doubt did something wretched to obtain it and deserves to have it forcefully taken away. (Rich leftists excluded.)

The middle-class — and their contemptible bourgeois values.
The poor — so long as they aspire to become middle-class or rich instead of remaining happily dependent.

Vouchers — a threat to unions, social engineers, and the government monopoly on public education.

Home-schooling — a threat to unions, social engineers, and the government monopoly on public education — and a favorite among the religious zealots.

Standardized testing — or, for that matter, educational standards of any kind.

Real sports — the kind with winners and losers, where things like, height, strength, intelligence, or skill can determine outcomes.

Missile defense — and most other efforts of the U.S. to protect itself from foreign attack.
American "hegemony" — defined as any expression of American interest that contradicts the conventional wisdom of the croissant-munching "international community."

Red meat — because animal life is sacred.

McDonalds — for selling fatty foods containing red meat and marketing them to minors, and for doing what socialism never could: feeding billions and billions on the cheap.

"Big box" stores — like Home Depot or Wal-Mart, for killing the small businesses that taxes and regulations couldn't.

Pharmaceutical companies — for spending billions developing new, life-saving drugs, then charging money for them.

Successful businesses — they must be ripping off their "stakeholders."

Failed business — they must be ripping off their "stakeholders."

Nuclear energy — even if it is all the rage in France.

All other kinds of energy — except for those that are either untenable or prohibitively expensive.

Drilling for oil in ANWAR — and drilling for oil anywhere else.

Clarence Thomas — for acting, thinking, and speaking in a manner inappropriate for successful African-Americans.

Laura Schlessinger — for acting, thinking, and speaking in a manner inappropriate for successful women.

Rush Limbaugh — for thinking and speaking.

The Midwest — backward, uncouth hicks.

The South — backward, Bible-thumping rednecks.

The West — backward, gun-toting nuts.

John Ashcroft — a southerner and a devout Christian at that. For vilification purposes, he's the Newt Gingrich of the new millennium.

Police officers — Latent racists and unrepentant thugs, every one of the them, except for those who happened to be on duty on Sept. 11.

Laws that are tough on crime — and courts that are tough on criminals.

Individual responsibility — the government causes AIDS, poverty causes crime, and discrimination is the root of all inequality.

Anything that isn't safe — and anything that might not be safe. For more clarification, contact legal counsel.
