The Twentieth Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks and Joe Biden's Legacy

On September 11th, 2001, I had gotten up on that bright and sunny morning and was eating breakfast in front of the television news, as per my typical morning ritual, when the footage suddenly panned to show the smoke coming out of one of the World Trade Center towers.  As I sat there pondering how a plane could get so off course as to accidentally hit that enormous building as per their initial report, a second airliner was caught on video intentionally flying into the other tower of the World Trade Center.

It was immediately obvious that this was not an accident but rather was a premeditated attack on innocent non-combatant Americans by some evil entity.  My initial reaction was horror at the senselessness of the attacks and a profound sadness for the loss of life that surely was taken on that infamous day.  My next reaction was a justified and seething anger at the human debris responsible for such a heinous attack.  We later learned that just under 3000 people perished that day.

President Bush rallied the nation at the time and assured America that justice would be done.  Intelligence soon determined that the attack was planned and carried out by al Qaeda at the behest of its leader, Osama bin Laden.  This was done largely from al Qaeda’s operating base within the country of Afghanistan, which was then controlled by the Sunni Islamic militant group known as the Taliban.  President Bush asked the Taliban to cooperate with the United States and to hand over the members of al Qaeda within the Afghan borders or we would come and get them.  The Taliban refused to cooperate, and thus the longest war in our nation’s history soon commenced.

Twenty years later, it is unquestionable that President Joe Biden has been eagerly awaiting the twentieth anniversary of this horrific day to pontificate on how he was the president in charge that finally ended this protracted war in Afghanistan.  Jen Psaki has now confirmed that Biden will not be doing a public address to the nation on this anniversary after all.  We can only surmise what might be the reason that caused him to change his mind.

It was Joe Biden, after all, that ignored U.S. intelligence and his military advisors, so that he could meet his artificial deadline of having all troops out of the country by August 31st.   His ego-driven insistence of that date was so that when 9/11/2021 rolled around, he could receive the accolades from a sycophantic leftist media about how he was the one to finally end this war after twenty years.

Biden has accomplished that, at least.  He has ended the war in as humiliating manner as possible.  In doing so, he has emboldened our enemies there and ensured that the likelihood of another 9/11 in the future may very well come to fruition.  Further, Biden’s foolish and asininely executed withdrawal left the Taliban with $85 billion in armament and military supplies, including aircraft, drones, and night vision googles.  Thanks to President Biden, the Taliban today are richer, better armed, and in greater control than they were twenty years ago.  Oh, and lest we forget, all of this has transpired while leaving thousands of allies and at least hundreds of Americans behind still trapped in this terrorist country, despite Biden insisting on twenty different occasions that we would leave no American behind.  This evacuation was executed in such an incompetent manner that his actions indirectly led to the deaths of 13 service members in Afghanistan.  It is why many of the families of these slain military members condemn Joe Biden for their deaths.

This ill-executed retreat is why many family members of those killed on 9/11 have specifically asked Joe Biden to not speak at any of the three sites of the attacks on the anniversary of this terrorist act of war.  That is why Joe Biden has, at least for the moment, reconsidered delivering his self-congratulatory speech on this solemn anniversary.

Biden’s unintentional legacy by his dangerously executed withdrawal has been to greatly empower the Taliban, who have now re-invaded the country and overthrown an elected government there. Their human rights record is appalling as they are terrorists and terrorist sympathizers themselves.  Further, the Taliban in Afghanistan dominated the illegal narcotics traffic in South Asia previously.  This will assuredly occur again as a source of funding for their government and terroristic activities.

Yes, it was Biden’s hasty withdrawal from the fledgling democracy that has encouraged the Taliban to take over Afghanistan once again.  Biden’s negotiating with the Taliban for security and logistics in America’s withdrawal only legitimized this atrociously evil regime.  And yet, China, Russia, some European nations, and even Biden have already given the Taliban government their stamp of approval in the hopes that the Taliban will mitigate some of its worst tendencies.  Unfortunately, our engaging the Taliban is akin to engaging in diplomacy with the drug cartels if they were to overthrow the Mexican government. The Taliban ought to be treated like an international pariah instead of an acceptable and legitimate government.

“The Taliban has operational relationships with al-Qaeda, the Pakistan Intelligence Service, and the Haqqani network. Empowering it won’t cause it to relinquish these relationships. Indulging the Taliban will make it more resistant to Western pressure, not less,” states James Jay Carafano, The Heritage Foundation’s vice president for foreign and defense policy studies.

As former U.S. State Department adviser and Afghan native Arash Yaqin revealed on Tuesday,   “Speaking about the symbolism of the War on Terror, the Taliban are planning to have their interim government inauguration ceremony on Saturday, September 11th, on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.”

This, along with the needless deaths of 13 additional Americans and 170 Afghani people, Mr. Biden, is your legacy!  I pray that it is the only repercussion we will face for your cowardice and political expediency, but as history has taught us, when you ignore or empower evil, it only grows.  That too, is your legacy, Joe Biden.  It is the reason you must resign as President of the United States of America.  THAT would be the only fitting speech for you to deliver on this twentieth anniversary of 9/11/2001.

While you’re busy blaming Clinton for 9-11, I would like to add some information you may not care to accept.

The Bush Administration downplayed the threat of al-Qaeda and terrorism, and excluded chief counter-terrorism adviser Richard Clarke from Cabinet meetings.

In 1998 President Clinton promoted Richard Clarke to be the National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism, the chief counter-terrorism adviser on the National Security Council. Under President George W. Bush, Clarke initially continued in the same position but no longer had Cabinet-level access.

On January 25, 2001, counterterrorism coordinator Richard Clarke wrote a memo to national security advisor Condoleezza Rice - the first terrorism strategy paper of the Bush administration..

Clarke's memo requested an immediate meeting of the National Security Council's Principals Committee to discuss broad strategies for combating al-Qaeda by giving counterterrorism aid to the Northern Alliance and Uzbekistan, expanding the counterterrorism budget and responding to the U.S.S. Cole attack. Despite Clarke's request, there was no Principals Committee meeting on al-Qaeda until September 4, 2001.

Condoleezza Rice decided that the position of National Coordinator for Counterterrorism should be downgraded. By demoting the office, Clarke believed that the Administration sent a signal to the national security bureaucracy that reduced the prioritization of anti-terrorism efforts. No longer would Clarke's memos go to the President; instead they had to pass through a chain of command of National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice and her deputy Stephen Hadley, who bounced every one of them back.

At the first Deputies Committee meeting on terrorism, held in April 2001, Clarke suggested that the U.S. put pressure on both the Taliban and al-Qaeda by arming the Northern Alliance and other groups in Afghanistan. Simultaneously, he said that the US should target bin Laden and his leadership.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz responded, "Well, I just don't understand why we are beginning by talking about this one man bin Laden." Clarke replied that he was talking about bin Laden and his network because it posed "an immediate and serious threat to the United States." According to Clarke, Wolfowitz turned to him and said, "You give bin Laden too much credit. He could not do all these things like the 1993 attack on New York, not without a state sponsor”.

Clarke wrote that on September 12, 2001, President Bush "testily" asked him and his aides to try to find evidence that Saddam was connected to the terrorist attacks. In response, Clarke wrote a report stating there was no evidence of Iraqi involvement: all relevant agencies, including the FBI and the CIA, signed off on this conclusion. The paper was quickly returned by a deputy with a note saying, "Please update and resubmit”.

During 2001, CIA analysts produced several reports warning of imminent attacks by Bin Laden and al-Qaeda. Senior officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney and staff from Donald Rumsfeld's office at the Department of Defense, questioned whether these reports might not be deception on the part of al-Qaeda, purposely designed to needlessly expend resources in response. After reevaluating the legitimate risks of these recent reports, CIA analysts produced a report titled "UBL [Usama Bin Laden] Threats Are Real". It was after this report that the president gave that now-infamous response. "All right. You've covered your ass."

No action was taken after the famous President's Daily Brief of August 6, 2001 titled, “Bin-Laden Determined To Strike In US”

From that PDB:

Clandestine, foreign government, and media reports indicate Bin Ladin since 1997 has wanted to conduct terrorist attacks in the US. Bin Ladin implied in US television interviews in 1997 and 1998 that his followers would follow the example of World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Youse! and "bring the fighting to America." After US missile strikes on his base in Afghanistan in 1998, Bin Laden told followers he wanted to retaliate in Washington.”

You may go back to your impartial, non-partisan, fact-filled, research-supported blaming of Clinton for 9-11 and Biden for a terrorist attack in Afghanistan

Jerry said...

That would certainly fall in line with Darrell's thinking. I'm glad you understand how ridiculous it is to hold the president of the United States responsible for the acts of terrorists.
As my piece says, you can't have it both ways. If Darrell's is true, it must be true for all presidents, not just Biden. I'm sure you are aware there are some who think FDR knew Pearl Harbor was going to be attacked and allowed it to happen knowing it would rally Americans into the war.
Bush was warned of attacks by his intelligence people well before 9/11. It seems he did fail to safeguard the American people. His Constitutional duty. Later we learned that Bush lied about Iraq. Lies Bush used to justify the attack on Iraq.
If you can't defend Biden's actions, it's impossible to defend Bush's actions.

To be clear, the facts I show do not indicate any lack of compassion for the innocent victims of the 9-11 attack.

Both civilians and first responders displayed amazing courage that day. Their sacrifices must never be forgotten. They deserve the support, solemn memory and every honor we can offer.

I just don't want the dismissive pre-9-11 attitude of the Bush Administration, nor their demand to blame Iraq for 9-11, to be forgotten either.

Let's also not forget the fact Bin-Laden was known to be in Tora Bora, but was allowed to escape.

You may as well blame Clinton or Biden for that too, just to cover for the infallible Republican leadership.

Now back to your regularly scheduled "Better blame Clinton for 9-11 Show".

Dave Dubya said...

Jerry,
Having it both ways has always been the exclusive privilege of the radical Right.

Remember their One Rule.

"It's OK if you're a Republican."

Negotiating with the Taliban? Fine for Trump.

Biden?

"Biden’s negotiating with the Taliban for security and logistics in America’s withdrawal only legitimized this atrociously evil regime."

The nerve! Only Trump is allowed to negotiate surrender to the Taliban while allowing the release of 5,000 of them before the withdrawal. He even considered inviting them to Camp David.

See what I mean. The One Rule always applies.

Dave Dubya said...

Darrell repeats Trump’s false accusation with, “Biden’s foolish and asininely executed withdrawal left the Taliban with $85 billion in armament and military supplies, including aircraft, drones, and night vision googles.”

In fact Trump would have left all those weapons and equipment to the Afghan govt. He had no plan to confiscate what we already gave them. He wasn't concerned about what would happen, was he?

It was only a matter of time. What difference does it make if the Taliban seized the weapons now or in another month or two?

“To the victor the spoils” isn’t exactly a new concept. Why is anyone surprised, and why would it matter differently in a month or two?

Is there a case to be made that the weapons we gave to the Afghan government could never have fallen to the Taliban after they took over the country? No.

Darrell quotes Trump's figure as if he's an honest man, so what facts support it?

None.

The Facts:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/08/31/no-taliban-did-not-seize-83-billion-us-weapons/

A version of this claim also circulates widely on right-leaning social media — that somehow the Taliban has ended up with $83 billion in U.S. weaponry. (Trump, as usual, rounds the number up.)

No, the Taliban did not seize $83 billion of U.S. weapons

The $83 billion figure — technically, $82.9 billion — comes from an estimate in the July 30 quarterly report by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) for all spending appropriated for the Afghanistan Security Forces Fund since the U.S. invasion in 2001. Even that figure is a bit high, as of mid-year about $75 billion of appropriated funds had been disbursed, according to SIGAR.

Darrell has zero evidence to indicate this is not true. Just his FEELINGS, and complete faith in Donald Trump.

Facts will not change his feelings.

Liz Cheney calls Trump's deal with the Taliban a "surrender." "We completely undercut the Afghan nat'l gov., we absolutely emboldened the Taliban ... and that led us to the catastrophe today."

Here's a copy of the agreement....Trump gave it all away.

Well it looks like the radical left progressives are celebrating 9-11.

Stuff your fake Christian hate back where the sun doesn't shine, Vern.

This is more than you offered in memory of the victims of 9-11:

"To be clear, the facts I show do not indicate any lack of compassion for the innocent victims of the 9-11 attack.

Both civilians and first responders displayed amazing courage that day. Their sacrifices must never be forgotten. They deserve the support, solemn memory and every honor we can offer."

Vern exemplifies the "malign force" mentioned below.

To Bush’s credit, he now understands radical Right hate and domestic terrorism are still a major threat to our country:

(CNN)Former President George W. Bush on Saturday called on Americans to confront domestic violent extremists, comparing them to violent extremists abroad and warning that they are "children of the same foul spirit."

In a speech marking the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Bush said the US has seen "growing evidence that the dangers to our country can come not only across borders, but from violence that gathers within."

"There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home," Bush said. "But in their disdain for pluralism, in their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit."

"And it is our continuing duty to confront them," he added.

Bush's speech at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, came eight months after violent insurrectionists breached the US Capitol on January 6 in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying the 2020 election for President Joe Biden.

The former Republican President has been outspoken about condemning the violent mob of Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol that day. "This is how election results are disputed in a banana republic -- not our democratic republic," he said in a statement at the time, adding that he was "appalled by the reckless behavior of some political leaders since the election."

Bush on Saturday lamented the division in the United States, contrasting the current political climate to the spirit of unity that he said he observed in the wake of the September 11 attacks. "A malign force seems at work in our common life that turns every disagreement into an argument, and every argument into a clash of cultures. So much of our politics has become a naked appeal to anger, fear, and resentment," Bush said. "That leaves us worried about our nation and our future together."

Darrell,

Did you ever get a post from a liberal named Jefferson's' Guardian? He and Dave were big buddies. Always doing radical progressive tag team posts. Anyway, Jefferson's claimed 9-11 was an "inside job" and Dave never disagreed with him...today liberals are celebrating 9-11, by claiming that Bush planned the entire event, IE: it was an inside job.

Odd isn't it how liberals defend Biden by telling us we should blame the terrorists not Biden while at the same time blaming Bush but not the terrorist for 9-11.

Just the Facts! said...

Darrell,

Remember when Bill Clinton passed on three chances to take out Bin Laden? All the blood from 9/11 belongs squarely on Bill Clinton’s hands.

As Bush said, "A malign force seems at work".

More lies and hate from the vile fake Christian:

today liberals are celebrating 9-11, by claiming that Bush planned the entire event

He can go to hell.

Vern NEVER heard of bin-Laden before 2001.

Clinton says in a recording. "I nearly got him. And I could have killed him, but I would have to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him. And so I just didn't do it."

Vern doesn't give a crap about killing innocent brown humans. Never did, never will.

Obviously Bush didn't give a damn about bin-Laden. See FACTS above.

Vern’s felllow radical Right goons are the problem. Vern’s and Trump’s mob of bigots and racists and Nazis and Proud Boys and Oath Keepers are destroying our democracy. Vern is spreading the lies and hate. Not liberals.

Vern’s fellow racist white terrorists massacred Blacks in churches and Mexican-Americans at Wal-Mart.

Liberals NEVER did anything like that.

1/6 was an inside job to overturn our democracy. They failed, but Trump PRAISED THEM!!!!

We never stormed the Capitol. Vern’s ideological allies and TERRORIST thugs did, and Trump PRAISED THEM!!!!

To hell with all you seditionist, brainwashed, hate-filled, willfully ignorant Trump-suckers.

Rot in hell. Jesus knows the evil, the hate, and the lies in your heart.

It’s all plain to see, as presented under, “Just the facts”.

Dave Dubya said...

A re-cap.

Here are but a few examples of the radical Right’s One Rule.

The radical Right will pontificate on how they decry racism, sexism, homophobia, and other bigotry. The will insist they “don’t see color” and judge everyone by the “content of their character”.

How do they react when the Left decries and condemns racism, sexism, homophobia, and other bigotry?

They will say this proves “Leftists hate America”.

The radical Right equates the Left’s citing and condemnation of racism, sexism, homophobia, and other bigotry with “hating America”.

Pure demonization. They act as if it is directed at them. They react as if they think they ARE America.

The nerve! Only Trump is allowed to negotiate a surrender to the Taliban, while allowing the release of 5,000 of them before the withdrawal. He even considered inviting them to Camp David.

This utter disregard for facts and reason leads them to these absurdities;

Clinton is to blame for 9-11.

Biden is to blame for the terrorist attack at the Kabul airport.

Bush is not to blame for failing to heed warnings of an impending terrorist attack. Bush is not to blame for excluding his chief counter-terrorism adviser on the National Security Council from Cabinet meetings. Bush is not to blame for demanding that his people falsely blame 9-11 on Iraq.

Now 9-11 was Clinton’s fault.

See what I mean. The One Rule always applies.

Watch for it. It pops up quite regularly.

Hypocrisy and double standards are alien concepts to the radical Right.

It’s no wonder they believe Trump and regurgitate his hate and Big Lie.

Because if you don’t, then you “hate America”.

Trump IS America to these authoritarians. No wonder truth, justice, democracy, equality, fair elections, proportional representation and conscience are never considerations in their rabid Right ideology. Those are their targets.

They want to restrict voter rights, control elections, and impose minority rule.

If you don’t submit, you hate America.

Dave Dubya said...

Their word is enough. Their beliefs are all the proof they need.

From “The Biden-Created Crisis in Afghanistan” thread:

Darrell,

Did you see this?

The increasing anti-Americanism of Leftists has been noted many times, but on Friday, a Teen Vogue contributor named Jenn M. Jackson took it to new heights, claiming that 9/11 “was an attack on the heteropatriarchal capitalistic systems that America relies upon to wrangle other countries into passivity.” Yes, it appears that now cheering for the 9/11 jihadis has begun to be normalized on the Left.

Do you think any progressive radical leftist criticize her on your blog?

9/11 “was an attack on the heteropatriarchal capitalistic systems that America relies upon to wrangle other countries into passivity.”

Do you even know what that means? Not the long word, for sure.

Attacking the "capitalistic systems that America relies upon to wrangle other countries into passivity" was al-Qaeda's stated goal in retaliation for US support of Israel and military intervention in certain Arab states.

"Capitalistic systems."

Only an idiot or brainwashed dupe can't see this is why they hit the World Trade Center.

Darrell,

I'm sure you consider yourself better informed than those who disagree with your claim the election was stolen. Your confidence in your side of the matter should indicate you are correct.

Please understand my confusion. Since Trump NEVER reached 50% approval, and was ALWAYS behind Biden in EVERY pre-election poll, I believed I was reasonably skeptical of your claim.

How gullible am I for being so duped?

Surely you have a reasonable, fact-based explanation for your belief the election was stolen?

But I won't bother you by asking for your explanation. It seems too much to ask, and would likely be too complicated for me. So would you kindly show me some links to where I can learn your side of the story?

Point to the evidence and facts for me to see for myself.

Please educate me. If the truth is on your side it should be no problem.

I'd like your reassurance that Trump was honest about the election, was not responsible for 1//6, and that he righteously praised his mob for storming the Capitol.

I'm sure somewhere, someone must have presented a factual account of how the election was stolen.

Trump tried to get acting Attorney General Rosen to do the right thing. “Just say that the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me.”

It seems the dishonest Justice Department's Bill Barr and later acting AG Rosen have betrayed Trump, along with over 60 treasonous courts that rejected his claims.

It doesn't help that all journalists, poll workers, recounts, and state certifications are crooked as well.

And obviously only the states that went for Biden were corrupt.

That must be the case if you are correct.

You surely must have the accurate accounts of massive fraud, dead people voting, illegal immigrants voting, and rigged Dominion voting machines.

I’m confident that all of the illegal votes MUST have gone to Biden. It also must stand to reason that all the votes for Trump were legitimate. I just don’t know how to show that.

It's no wonder why I need your help in finding the truth.

I want to love America and understand reality as much you do, but as you see, my head is full of lies.

I’m sure Trump was telling us the truth at the Turning Point rally:

“That’s what they’re doing. You know what it’s called? Disinformation. They make up a lot of crap and they say it over and over and over…”

“Like it or not, we are becoming a communist country. That’s what’s happening.”

I should be frightened, if I have half a brain, right?

He warned us of the “radical left democrat communist party", so we know he’s being honest.

Just a few links to point me to the truth, if you please.

Yes, I know your word is usually good enough, but some factual corroboration and documented evidence would give me the resources to join you in defending the truth.

I want to believe the truth. Can you help me? Plus, it would make us all feel better to be on the same page.

Maybe then I'll join you in blaming Clinton for 9-11 and Biden for terrorism in Afghanistan.

And is it true what Q says? Are the Democrats running criminal pedophile sex rings?

As you can plainly see, I need help.

Dave Dubya said...

I'm guessing this is the reason you don't like Capitol cops. They not only obstructed Trump's patriots from overturning the election and hanging Mike Pence and Pelosi, they had to attack good Republicans:

Officer Fanone whined, "The indifference shown to my colleagues is disgraceful!"

"Nothing has prepared me to address those elected members of our government who continue to deny the events of that day and in doing so betray their oath of office."

What a hateful leftist liar!

Back the blue, but not for the coup. They were disloyal to Trump and traitors to Real America.

May God bless all the patriots Dear Leader loves and called "very special".

Proof that 1/6 was ALL Biden's fault.

In God we trust, through Trump almighty, Amen.

Commemorating 9-11.

Only one patriotic president respectfully commemorated the tragic day 20 years ago.

Three radical left democrat communist party presidents and their wives stood somberly side by side at the National September 11 Memorial, sharing a moment of silence to mark the anniversary of the nation's worst terror attack.

President Joe Biden and former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton all gathered at the site where the World Trade Center towers fell two decades ago. They each wore blue ribbons and held their hands over their hearts as a procession marched a flag through the memorial, watched by hundreds of Americans gathered for the remembrance, some carrying photos of loved ones lost in the attacks.

They are scum.

America’s savior and best patriot Donald Trump marked the anniversary respectfully, and complained about "the lamestream media and liar, Joe Biden” at a boxing match.

Why does the “radical left democrat communist party” hate America??

Please help be prove these Republicans are wrong about Trump:

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, January 13, 2021: "President* Trump bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters. He should have IMMEDIATELY denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump to accept his share of responsibility, quell the brewing unrest and ensure President-elect Biden is able to successfully begin his term.”

Rep. Liz Cheney: “A violent mob attacked the United States Capitol to obstruct the process of our democracy and stop the counting of presidential electoral votes. The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President.”

Rep. Liz Cheney: What happened is absolutely clear. We had intolerable cruelty, a mob that was assembled by Trump & was provoked by him. He lit the flame."

Liz Cheney: “People have been lied to. The extent to which President Trump for months leading up to Jan. 6th spread the notion that the election had been stolen or that the election was rigged was a lie and people need to understand that...Somebody who has provoked an attack on the US Capitol to prevent the counting of electoral votes, which resulted in 5 people dying, who refused to stand up immediately...& stop the violence, that is a person who does not have a role as a leader of our party going forward.”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger: “The truth is that the election was not stolen. … It’s important for our party to take inventory of that and go out and win the next election, instead of continuing the Big Lie.”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger: The GOP has a decision to make. Are we going to be the party that keeps stoking sympathy for domestic terrorists and pushes out truth, or finally take a stand for truth. I’ve made my decision, so has Mo.

Senator Mitt Romney: “We gather today due to a selfish man’s injured pride and the outrage of his supporters, whom he has deliberately misinformed for the past two months and stirred to action this very morning.”

Senator Mitt Romney, 1-6-21: “What happened here today was an insurrection, incited by the president of the United States. No congressional audit is ever going to convince these voters, particularly when the president continues to say the election was stolen. The best way we can show respect for the voters who were upset is by telling them the truth.”

Sen. Ben Sasse: “it’s been obvious that the President was derelict in his duty to defend the Constitution and uphold the rule of law. Everything that we’re dealing with here — the riot, the loss of life, the impeachment, and now the fact that the U.S. Capitol has been turned into a barracks for federal troops for the first time since the Civil War — is the result of a particular lie. President Trump has consistently lied by claiming that he won the election by a landslide.”

Trump impeachment attorney Michael van der Veen: “The question before us is not whether there was a violent insurrection of the Capitol. On that point, everyone agrees.”

Dave Dubya said...

Can anyone help me prove this man is a liar?

I can’t believe these words were spoken by Mitch McConnell!

Sen. Mitch McConnell 1-19-21: “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people. And they tried to use fear and violence to stop a specific proceeding of the first branch of the federal government which they did not like.”

Sen. Mitch McConnell, 2-13-21: “American citizens attacked their own government. They used terrorism to try to stop a specific piece of democratic business they did not like. Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police. They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the Speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the Vice President. They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth — because he was angry he’d lost an election. Former President Trump’s actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful dereliction of duty. There is no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day.

This was an intensifying crescendo of conspiracy theories, orchestrated by an outgoing president who seemed determined to either overturn the voters’ decision or else torch our institutions on the way out... A mob was assaulting the Capitol in his name. These criminals were carrying his banners, hanging his flags, and screaming their loyalty to him.

It was obvious that only President Trump could end this. Former aides publicly begged him to do so. Loyal allies frantically called the Administration.But the President did not act swiftly. He did not do his job. He didn’t take steps so federal law could be faithfully executed, and order restored. Instead, according to public reports, he watched television happily as the chaos unfolded. He kept pressing his scheme to overturn the election!”

1. Clinton is not responsible for 9/11. His half-measured response to terrorist acts (like lobbing a missile at an aspirin factory in response to our embassy bombings in Africa) and then his immediate pull out after the black hawk down incident did have long term repercussions however, as bin Laden noted that terrorists could basically act with impunity and no fear of significant reprisal from the "paper tiger" of America.

2. A case can absolutely be made regarding the negligence of George W. Bush when it came to ignoring intelligence regarding al Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks.

3. Leftists seem to have a hard time with understanding what constitutes a lie and what responsibility means. George W. Bush did not "lie" to get us into a war with Iraq. We had intelligence, as did our allies such as Britain, that Saddam Hussein had WMDs. Further, we KNOW he had them as the U.S. gave some to him during the Iraq/Iran war. (We found sarin in country too.) Saddam refused to allow U.N. inspectors to come in to deal with his WMDs. When we issued ultimatums during the months long build-up, there was ample time to hide/move these WMDs. Some intelligence suggests that some armaments were moved to Syria by Saddam. Regardless, the initial intelligence did not bear out for these reasons. When someone honestly believes something but it turns out to be wrong... that is a mistake. When someone knows that what they are saying is untrue, that is a lie. Bush was guilty of the former and not the latter.

4. Biden bears responsibility and is culpable for the deaths of the Afghans and the 13 Americans because he ignored the best advice given to him and a reasonable person considering the evidence on the ground locally would be able to determine the likely repercussions of his damnable actions there. Blood is on this bastard's hands, if not on his failed conscience. He should no longer hold office.

Darrell,

"...his immediate pull out after the black hawk down incident"

Your historical revisionism is deeply flawed and not supported by facts and evidence.

https://www.salon.com/2006/09/25/clinton_125/

President Clinton gave a speech on Oct. 8, 1993, to argue against the demands from the conservative right that we withdraw immediately from Somalia and to explain why it was vital that we stay. This is part of what Clinton said in his speech: "And make no mistake about it, if we were to leave Somalia tomorrow, other nations would leave, too. Chaos would resume, the relief effort would stop and starvation soon would return. That knowledge has led us to continue our mission ... Recently, Gen. Colin Powell said this about our choices in Somalia: 'Because things get difficult, you don't cut and run. You work the problem and try to find a correct solution' ... So let us finish the work we set out to do. Let us demonstrate to the world, as generations of Americans have done before us, that when Americans take on a challenge, they do the job right."

Republican senators attempted to force an immediate withdrawal and then ultimately compromised on a compelled withdrawal in six months.As but one example, from a Senate floor speech by Sen. Dirk Kempthorne, on Oct. 6, 1993: "The United States has no interest in the civil war in Somalia and as this young soldier told me, if the Somalis are now healthy enough to be fighting us, then it is absolutely time that we go home ... It is time for the Senate of the United States to get on with the debate, to get on with the vote, and to get the American troops home." Sen. Robert Dole, in a Senate speech, on Oct. 5, 1993: "I think it is clear to say from the meeting we had earlier with -- I do not know how many Members were there -- 45, 50 Senators and half the House of Representatives, that the administration is going to be under great pressure to bring the actions in Somalia to a close."

Contrary to neoconservative myth, the U.S. did not run away from Somalia at the first sign of violence. Rather, we stayed six months and even increased our troop levels, but only because President Clinton fought and battled to do so in the face of right-wing demands that he cut and run immediately.

Yes, Republicans demanded Clinton pull out of Bush's futile intervention in a civil war in Somalia. A survey taken for NBC News on Oct. 6 found 64 percent saying they favored ``the United States withdrawing all of its troops from Somalia.''

On 26 September 2006, in an interview on Fox News with Chris Wallace, former President Bill Clinton gave his version of events surrounding the mission in Somalia. Clinton defended his exit strategy for U.S. forces and denied that the departure was premature. He said he had resisted calls from conservative Republicans for an immediate departure: "...[Conservative Republicans] were all trying to get me to withdraw from Somalia in 1993 the next day after we were involved in 'Black Hawk Down,' and I refused to do it and stayed six months and had an orderly transfer to the United Nations."

Good God, you people never learn.

Bush wasn't talking about saran gas he was talking about clouds of atomic weapons. After we invaded Iraq the U.S. Army conducted a two year country wide (Iraq) search and investigation and found no evidence of WMD's. Yet our Secretary of State went to the U.N. and produced fake pictures of such weapons. The FACTS say you are wrong, or like Bush, lying. Bush is certainly responsible for thousands of deaths, he was the president of the United States. Typical of your Republican talking points mind to excuse Bush of his decisions to kill American soldiers and his lies.

Dave Dubya said...

You can make up all the crap you want, but Bush and Cheney LIED about "Nukular aluminum tubes", Chemical and biological weapons programs, and Saddam's non existent ties to al-Qaeda.

“C” is the code name for Richard Dearlove, head of MI6, the British foreign intelligence service.

"C reported on his recent talks in Washington. There was a perceptible shift in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

"FIXED"

The warmongers denied and suppressed all intelligence that didn't fit their war agenda. Then they approved of indefinite detention without charges or counsel, for AMERICANS. They approved of torture and did it.

Let's remember your criminal authoritarian Dear Leader lusted for methods "worse that waterboarding".

Now the radical Right enemies of democracy are on track to deny the results of ALL elections they lose.

The can't comprehend the FACT democrats won the popular vote in 7 of the last 8 presidential elections.

This is why they hate democracy. They lose fair elections, even with gerrymandering and vote suppression.

Your cult's embrace of Trump's Big Lie is the most tragic and avoidable division in our country. It fuels the radical Right's rage and anger over false victimization.

Let's also never forget 9-11 first responders had to spend years fighting Republicans in congress to get medical bills covered.

I expect you deny these facts. I do not expect you to show any evidence to support your embrace of the Big Lie or the rest of your provably false historical revisionism.

All you need to do is "believe" in you cult of hate and lies. You need the lies to wrap yourself in false righteousness, and to demonize others.

Your cult has ended our nation's proud tradition of peaceful transition of power.

Your Trump Cult's insurrection is a dark and evil stain on the Republic's history, and will be repudiated along with Trump himself, slavery, Jim Crow, Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and the rest of the white nationalist racism.

I also suggest you research the true facts about weapons inspectors and why they were PULLED out.

David Kay and Hans Blix know more than you do about it. See what they have to say.

Or start here:

https://www.armscontrol.org/factsheets/iraqchron

UN weapons inspectors worked in Iraq from November 27, 2002 until March 18, 2003. During that time, inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the United Nations Monitoring, Verification, and Inspections Commission (UNMOVIC) conducted more than 900 inspections at more than 500 sites. The inspectors did not find that Iraq possessed chemical or biological weapons or that it had reconstituted its nuclear weapons program.

Although Iraq was cooperative on what inspectors called “process”—allowing inspectors access to suspected weapons sites, for example—it was only marginally cooperative in answering the questions surrounding its weapons programs. Unable to resolve its differences with Security Council members who favored strengthening and continuing weapons inspections, the United States abandoned the inspections process and initiated the invasion of Iraq on March 19.

2. A case can absolutely be made regarding the negligence of George W. Bush when it came to ignoring intelligence regarding al Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks.

I'm happy this reality has gotten through to you. Will it stop you from blaming 9-11 on Clinton?

I understand it is easier to regurgitate the Right's politically correct party line, but the Right is wrong in so many ways.

If you bother to do a little research, you will find my other points are supported by evidence as well.

Like Biden won the election.

ALL the evidence, poll workers, certification boards, courts, Trump's own Justice Dept. and Homeland Security, and ALL recounts support this FACT.

It the left says the sky is blue on a sunny day, the Right will say it is raining. This is not rational discourse. It is willful ignorance and combative contrarianism, all to demonize the opposition in order to dupe the voters into accepting their minority rule.

As I noted, the majority of Americans voted for the democrat in 7 of the last 8 elections.

Republicans have been in the majority in the House of Representatives for four of the past six congresses, despite the fact Democrats have won more total votes in four of the six past midterm elections.

50 Democratic Senators represent 40 million more Americans than the 50 Republican Senators.

The Electoral College has a built in bias for mostly white rural states.

These facts tell us who are the real marginalized victims of unfair and reduced representation in our government.

Blacks. Women. Democrats.

Elections are rigged all right. In favor of Republicans.

No wonder their fear of democracy and equality drives the radical Right into fits of lies, false accusations and demonization.

Dave Dubya said...

You seem to forge WHY there was the withdrawal. And I agree Biden is responsible for the chaotic withdrawal, but NOT for the terrorist attack.

If only you could say the same for Bush's war based on lies, and Reagan's 200 dead Marines in Lebanon.

Your double standards are quite obvious.

It's sad, but only fitting, you support and defend Mr. "I take no responsibility at all".

Mike Lindell gives an update. He says he was just “hoping” that the election would be overturned in Aug, but he may have just been off a few months. Says everything is still going according to plan, all he has to do now is “tack on” state AGs to his lawsuit and he will be ready.

The radical Right has no clue how duped and insane they appear to sane and informed people. Even a third of Republican Trump voters can grasp the reality of his loss.

There is nothing stable about the deluded radicals.

From now on, the radical Right will deny every election loss. This threat to our democracy will only worsen.

But Trump's Big Lie is the hill they will choose to die on. When Trump is totally dishonored by criminal conviction and repudiated by history, his cult will wilt into bitter, angry old true believers until they perish from this Earth.

Powell Blames Himself, Others For Specious Iraq WMD Claims to U.N.

Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell in a new book said he blames himself for not trusting his instinct and making what proved to be false assertions to the United Nations about Iraq's possession of weapons of mass destruction, Bloomberg reported earlier this month (see GSN, Feb. 17, 2011).

Powell's high-profile February 2003 prewar presentation to the U.N. Security Council included now-discredited claims that Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein had movable biological weapons facilities and was involved in a "sinister nexus" with al-Qaeda.

No evidence of active WMD production facilities or usable stockpiles have been found in Iraq following the U.S.-led March 2003 invasion.

"A failure will always be attached to me and my U.N. presentation," Powell writes in "It Worked For Me," a book that provides leadership advice. "I am mad mostly at myself for not having smelled the problem. My instincts failed me."

In his recently published book, Powell asserts "there would have been no war" in Iraq had then-President George W. Bush and his councilors understood that Hussein did not possess any functioning unconventional weapons. However, he lauded the fact that under Bush "we got rid of the horrific Hussein" government and toppled the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

The retired general also faulted U.S. intelligence officers for lacking the "courage" to alert him that he was receiving bad data on Iraqi weapons of mass destruction ahead of his U.N. appearance.

"Why did no one stand up and speak out during the intense hours we worked on the speech?” the ex-secretary said. “Some of these same analysts later wrote books claiming they were shocked that I have relied on such deeply flawed evidence."

Powell said he relied on the CIA to help develop his U.N. presentation but that he was not aware at the time that "much of the evidence was wrong" (Capaccio/Tiron, Bloomberg, May 4).

As we recall Darrell's flip-flop on Trump's culpability for his coup, he's also a defender of another flip-flopper who wanted to take California's governor's office.

The Trump candidate in California's recall election
Larry Elder, told one of the state's newspapers that President Biden won the 2020 election "fair and square."

His clarity wouldn't last.

A longtime talk-radio host, Elder solidified Republican support by copy-catting former president Donald Trump.

After saying Biden had won "fair and square," the GOP candidate went on the radio and asked for a "mulligan." Then he started tweeting about election "shenanigans" in 2020. By the time he appeared on Fox News on Labor Day weekend, the flip-flop was complete.

Elder said Biden did not win "fairly and squarely" and rattled off a vague, Trumpian list of falsehoods about Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Hunter Biden, Big Tech "censorship," the works.

This party of seditionists will deny the results of EVERY election they lose.

Maybe you’ve noticed a few things about our nation's current political landscape.

Nobody complains more about being marginalized than conservatives.

Nobody complains more about their voices being unheard than conservatives.

Nobody demands to “take our country back” more than conservatives.

Nobody claims to be “real Americans”, and vilifies opponents for “hating America” more than conservatives.

Nobody howls about “rigged elections” more than conservatives.

Nobody believes Trump’s Big Lie about a stolen election more than conservatives.

But what are the facts, besides the obvious one that Biden won the election?

The facts tell us who really are the truly marginalized Americans in our so-called representative democratic republic.

They are not conservatives. And they are not the minority.

Never mind the majority of Americans voted for the Democrat over the Republican in 7 of the last 8 presidential elections.

Never mind Republicans have been in the majority in the House of Representatives for four of the past six congresses, despite the fact Democrats have won more total votes in four of the six past midterm elections.

But you can't.

I've asked in vain for Darrell to show evidence that I am in error, and he couldn't do it.

I've asked in vain if Darrell could show evidence that Trump won, and Biden "stole" the election.

He couldn't do that either. And neither can you.

All you can do is regurgitate Trump's and drunken Rudy's lies, and the deranged pillow guys delusions of Trump retaking the White House.

"Dominion! Dead voters! Fraud!", squawk the parrots of the radical Right. Dominion will be raking pillow guy over the coals in court for his lies. Better send him some money. He'll need it.

Rudy and other Trump stooges are losing their privilege to practice law and being sanctioned for their damn lies. Did you know that?

Sad. But what can we expect from dupes who trust ONLY pro-Trump propaganda? Hmm?

CNN reports their new poll:
While 63% of all respondents said that Biden "legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency," the story was very, very different among Republicans.

Among that group, 78% said that Biden did not win enough votes to legitimately win the election.

Republicans who support Trump continue to drive belief in the big lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

Although there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, 36% of Americans say that President Joe Biden did not legitimately get enough votes to win the presidency. That 36% includes 23% who falsely say there is solid evidence that Biden did not win, and 13% who say that is their suspicion only.

Among Republicans, 78% say that Biden did not win and 54% believe there is solid evidence of that, despite the fact that no such evidence exists. That view is also deeply connected to support for Trump.

Your Orange Savior is a liar. But you don't know that, because you are a true believer in his cult.

"54% believe there is solid evidence."

And not ONE of these duped authoritarians can show evidence to support Dear Leader's Big Lie.

YOU included.

Since you're the smartest guy in the room, how about you share what you and your pro-Trump media's experts on Covid have to say. After all, Alex Jones could NEVER be wrong, amirite?

But I need your explanation, because you're so much better informed than I am.

There seems to be a growing list of radical Right anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers dropping dead from Covid.

Several are preachers, Q-anon cultists, and radio propagandists. All pro-Trump, of course.

This makes me suspicious...

Here's just a few:

Bob Enyart, a notoriously homophobic right-wing radio host who refused to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, has died of COVID-19. Enyart, who is also pastor of Denver Bible Church, opposed mask mandates and called those who impose them “mask nazis” and “mask-mandating control-freak bureaucrats.”

Robert David Steele was a frequent Alex Jones guest who claimed NASA operates a child slave colony on Mars. (Probably the same democrat pedophile ring in the pizza parlor?)

Steele posted Aug. 17. "I went in at 77 oxygenation. I'm up to 94. I will not take the vaccination, though I did test positive for whatever they're calling 'COVID' today, but the bottom line is that my lungs are not functioning.The good news is that I will survive with a few days off," Steele added. "I should be back up and at least functional soon. This is been a near death experience, very much like a new death experience the whole country is going through right now. We will never be the same because now we know that we've all been lied to about everything. But, now we also know that we can trust each other. I'm alive today because I had a network that put me into a good hospital in Florida."

Robert David Steele died at age 69.

Veronica Wolski, a popular QAnon advocate best known for harassing people for wearing masks and hanging banners from a bridge in Chicago, died after spending weeks in hospital with COVID-19. Veronica Wolski is known for her so-called, “People’s Bridge,” where she drops anti-vaccine disinformation leaflets off a bridge in Chicago.

I can share more.

But you get the gist, right, Rex?

It can't be Covid. How could good Trump supporters ever be wrong? Is Biden poisoning these people with some liberal death panel cyanide koolade?

Educate me, if you please.

Dave Dubya said...

Ryan responded to Trump’s infamous “both sides” rhetoric about the violence at the gathering with a tweet calling white supremacy “repulsive.”

Trump was apoplectic with Ryan over his comment, according to excerpts from The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s upcoming tell-all “Peril” that Insider published Wednesday.

Trump phoned Ryan and screamed about him not being “in the foxhole with me,” according to the book. Ryan reportedly told Trump he had “a moral leadership obligation to get this right and not declare there is a moral equivalency here.”

“These people love me. These are my people,” Trump raged at Ryan in response. “I can’t backstab the people who support me.”

Thank you for showing some decency in moderation. Yes, I get snarky, especially when authoritarians attack me as "anti-American" WITHOUT evidence.

As I noted I love this country and its promise of fair elections and representation. Opportunities abound, but real problems exist. For noting the problems, I get attacked. Why? Perhaps some of the problems are due to the vicious attackers themselves. Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and the rest of Trump's cult are defined by their hate and Trump's dangerous Big Lie that terminated our history of peaceful transition of power.

Or would you say there is nothing "anti-American" about that?

I suppose it's as American as slavery, racism, the Confederacy, the Klan and bigotry. Some of us want to end our racist heritage, resulting inequalities, and suppressed voting rights, as others seem bent on defending those as our nation itself.

Note how Trump praised Robert E. Lee as he smeared his opposition with something lifted directly out of Hitler's playbook: "Our culture is being destroyed and our history and heritage, both good and bad, are being extinguished by the Radical Left".

Compare to the original:

September 8, 1938:

Reichsfuehrer Adolf Hitler, in an address to the Nazi Congress on German culture, last night attacked the Jews as having conducted “a veritable reign of terror” over German cultural life until it was “liberated” by the Nazis, who “saved humanity from madness and decadence.”

“The Jew-democrats,” he declared, “can seek to distort our exploits, but the monuments which are being reared in the third Reich today speak for themselves and will remain the inalienable possession of western culture.”

Furthermore, Hitler asserted, “our Germano-Aryan culture” is utterly indifferent to the criticisms of “international Jewry.” He said: “The great mass of Jews is absolutely unproductive, and consequently feels itself attracted more to the primitive Negro tribes.”

For some reason nobody on the radical Right cares to recognize the similarities. If you'd like, feel free to address this and prove my error.

Biden was never among my first five choices, but he's not imitating Hitler by promoting masks and vaccinations.

Only the Trumpists who buy into his fascism are so deranged to think that. This explains why they dismiss and ignore the fact Trump PRAISED HIS INSURRECTIONIST TERRORISTS for attempting to overturn the election!

Again, I am happy to be shown the errors of my remarks. Of course, no evidence can be offered, so...

Poor Rex can only just default to his usual no-fact, all-emotion mode.

I know he can't help himself. His authoritarian thuggish threats show us the tough guy obviously can dish it out better than he can take it.

I would advise him not to engage in rational evidence-based discussion, (because he cannot) or even meet in a battle of wits with me. Raging tantrums and crazed accusations don't work in that setting either.

Following Dear Leader's tactics can't cut it with me.

Thanks for being a good sport about it all, Darrell. Unlike so many on the Right, you tolerate dissent.

1)
It has become apparent that many conservatives cannot comprehend the fact that Trump is a liar. Only he and his loyal cronies are to be trusted and believed. Everybody else is lying about the election.

Nobody else can be trusted or believed. Trump’s director of the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Christopher Krebs can’t be trusted or believed. Trump’s Attorney General William Barr, and acting AG Rosen can’t be trusted or believed. Romney and McConnell can’t be trusted or believed. Poll workers, the secretaries of state, the electors, election certification boards, numerous recounts, 68 courts, the press, etc. cannot be trusted or believed.

As Trump’s true believers see it, all of them are either duped or they are liars, and Trump and his cronies are the only ones telling the truth.

That’s what Trumpism is. And the Trump loyalists are outraged by the nerve of those who clearly and rationally see this as deceitful and authoritarian.

Carol Leoning and Philip Rucker interviewed Trump at Mar-a-Lago. When asked why he encouraged Americans to believe lies about the pandemic, Trump starts rambling about the brilliance to be found in his genes, but then he returns to the question. "Are you talking about disinformation or are you talking about lies?" he asks, adding, "There is a more beautiful word called disinformation."

There, he gives away the secret. Disinformation, as every spy chief knows, as the Kremlin has made us all learn, is not just any lie. It is false information, deliberately disseminated, usually for tactical political purposes. It's all still unfolding.

Disinformation is a “more beautiful word”. So you see, Trump never “lies”. Got it?

When asked for evidence that supports Trump’s Big Lie, we hear, “Biden hid in his basement!”. That doesn’t cut it. Nor do any of the rest of their cockamamie lies about “Dominion, vote switching, dead voters, illegal voters, massive fraud, illegal mail-in ballots, and illegal elections”. ALL have been rejected by courts for lack of supporting evidence.

I’ve given up on requesting evidence that supports his Big Lie. Why? Because not only don’t they have it, they don’t need it. Radicalized true believers never need evidence. Radicalized true believers never need facts, reason, logic, or math.

In fact, Trump’s Big Lie is an affront to math. Trump NEVER reached 50% approval, and was ALWAYS behind Biden in EVERY pre-election poll. The election results reflected these facts.

President Biden:
Electoral Votes-306
Popular Voter: 81,264,673 (51.3%)

Sore Loser Crybaby Trump:
Electoral Votes- 232
Popular Voter: 74,210,838 (46.9%)

I’ll offer some points that illustrate the Trump Cult’s stand against facts, against truth, against democracy, against history, and against our peaceful transition of power.

2)
Darrell,

You said something we agree on:

"I am sick of the hate. Yes, I see it from the right as well as from the left. As I have said, I unequivocally condemn racist groups, neo-nazis, the KKK, and other such vermin, and I know that JTF does too."

Yet you and JTF do not unequivocally condemn Trump for agitating the events of January 6th that included some from the above mentioned groups.

You do not unequivocally condemn Trump for saying this to his terrorist mob:

“I know your pain. I know you’re hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us, It was a landslide election and everyone knows it especially the other side...It’s a very tough period of time, there’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened, where they could take it away from all of us. From me, from you, from our country. This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home, we love you, you’re very special. You’ve seen what happens, you’ve seen the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel, but go home and go home in peace.”

Since you do not unequivocally condemn Trump for saying this to his terrorist mob, am I to assume you also do not unequivocally condemn Trump for doubling down on his support for his insurrectionist mob, saying yesterday, “Our hearts and minds are with the people being persecuted so unfairly relating to the January 6th protest concerning the Rigged Presidential Election"?

He's supporting his insurrectionist mob, and inciting his ongoing coup again.

HE PRAISES TERRORISTS!!!

This seems to indicate you must also unequivocally reject the following definitions of insurrection, coup, and terrorism.

Insurrection: an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government.

Merriam-Webster- Coup d'état: a sudden decisive exercise of force in politics, especially the violent overthrow or alteration of an existing government by a small group.

Merriam Webster- Terrorism: the unlawful use or threat of violence especially against the state or the public as a politically motivated means of attack or coercion

(FBI) Domestic terrorism: Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature.

United States military’s Guide to Terrorism in the 21st Century defines terrorism as “the calculated use of unlawful violence or threat of unlawful violence to inculcate fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious or ideological.”

Under the Terrorism Act 2000 terrorism is currently defined as “the use or threat [of action] designed to influence the government or to intimidate the public or a section of the public, and the use or threat is made for the purposes of advancing a political, religious or ideological cause.”

3)
You either reject the definitions, or you accept the definitions, while still supporting Trump's Big Lie and his insurrectionist terrorist's coup. This is the logical and rational conclusion a reasonable person would draw.

Does this mean you unequivocally condemn Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger for his refusal of Trump’s demand to “find” 11,780 votes to declare he won that state’s election?

Does this mean you unequivocally condemn Trump’s Attorney General William Barr for clearly stating this?

“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.” Barr told Jonathan Karl, “My attitude was: It was put-up or shut-up time,” “If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bullshit.”

Trump brought up Barr’s AP interview.

“Did you say that?”

“Yes,” Barr responded.

“How the f#@k could you do this to me? Why did you say it?”

“Because it’s true.”

The president, livid, responded by referring to himself in the third person: “You must hate Trump. You must hate Trump.”

Does this mean you unequivocally condemn Acting AG Rosen?

After being pressured to interfere with the election results, acting AG Rosen told Trump: “Understand that the DOJ can’t and won’t snap its fingers and change the outcome of the election, doesn’t work that way.”

Trump replied, “Don’t expect you to do that, just say that the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican Congressmen.”

Whose words do you unequivocally condemn? Someone is clearly right, and the other is clearly wrong, and is extremely divisive and dangerous to the republic.

I unequivocally condemn Trump for his narcissistic and dangerous lies. I unequivocally condemn Trump for his enthusiastic support for his insurrectionist terrorist's and coup.

From your radicalized viewpoint, I can understand why you need to lash out and blame leftists for “hating America” and accuse the press as being the “enemy of the people”. This has become your only defense of Trump and the horrible lies and treachery of Trumpism.

We either accept or unequivocally condemn Trump for howling at the radical Right Turning Point rally, “That’s what they’re doing. You know what it’s called? Disinformation. They make up a lot of crap and they say it over and over and over...Like it or not, we are becoming a communist country. That’s what’s happening..."The radical left democrat communist party".

For his racist birtherism, criminal acts, egregious lies, and vile hate-mongering, I unequivocally condemn Trump.

History will too.

Why can’t you?

He should no longer hold his current position and should be in a federal prison, and yet the head of the Biden-crime family has proclaimed he has complete confidence in Milly. The vet began, “Veterans, I being one, we followed this closely through multiple administrations, and we know that Trump’s Administration’s efforts here were fairly weak. That they were trying to limit the number who could get out. So there were coordination problems..."

Clearly angered, Stinchfield wigged out and interrupted the veteran yelling, “I’m already weak, I’m already low on time, Joe. Cut him off now! You’re not going to blame this on President Trump on my show.”

The problem was the vet was telling the truth. Can’t have that in Trumpworld.

Trump’s white nationalist henchman Stephen Miller was against  keeping the doors open for Afghan allies and other Middle East refugees to enter the US.

CNN reports: "What do you guys want?" Miller, then a top adviser to President Donald Trump, asked incredulously, according to one person in the room. "A bunch of Iraqs and 'Stans across the country?"

The SIV (Special Immigrant Visas) program for Afghan nationals has been plagued with management problems and low annual caps for years leading up to the withdrawal by US forces. But while Congress and the Obama and Biden administrations share some of the blame, the Trump administration -- specifically Miller, according to former administration officials -- did much to hamper the process long before the US ramped up its efforts to withdraw from the country.

That 2018 White House meeting was one in a series of incidents with Miller and his allies within the administration that stunned officials at the time. But Miller, one of Trump's most strident anti-immigration advisers, had the President's ear on refugee policy and wielded considerable power on the issue.

"I can't understate the sign and impact of the signal Stephen Miller was sending," a former official told CNN. "You can't undersell the impact that those folks had on gumming up the system as a whole."

Miller did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday. Speaking to CNN on Friday, after this story published, he disputed the words attributed to him in the 2018 meeting. He added that he has advocated for resettling refugees within safe countries in their region rather than in the United States.

Oh, Darrell. You cannot put "racist" and "Cop" in a sentence without an "if", can you?

"Racist cop". Never have the words been paired by you.

Do I ever say "cop" without "racist"? Yes. Whenever they're not. Sometimes they're simply thugs. Too many are authoritarian punks or bullies in uniform. And some are racists.

Other times they are decent well-trained men and women enforcing the law with professional courtesy towards the public. I LIKE those cops. I've known a few personally.

We need more of them and fewer of the former.

How about "Capitol cop". Did you miss me mentioning them?

Where have you been? But YOU don't want to talk about what happened to them, or why it happened to them, or who is responsible for what happened to them, do you?

Well. Do you?

Hell, no. You don't. You scamper from the topic like a scared rabbit. Why is that?

Here is what you fear to face: Did you hear the testimony from the Capitol cops, Darrell? Did you hear the Black cop say he was called a N multiple times by Trump’s special people he loves? What do you think? Are they unfair to Trump and those “special” people he “loves”?

Are you afraid of the subject? Does some unnamed, not-quite conceived twinge of conscience disturb you? Why don't you want to discuss 1/6 and who is responsible for it?

Does it have something to do with a Big Lie from some fragile ego that got a boo boo he couldn't handle?

Better run. Better believe, and better hide behind Big Daddy's reassuring lie. It will make you FEEL better AND fill you with hate for the other guy who “stole the election” to beat him. Embrace your victimhood, your resentment, and your hate for the "anti-American commie left". It fills you with righteous rage.

Poor dewicate feewings.

Run from the numbers. Run from the facts. Ignore reality. All you gotta do is believe. Just beleive...

"Tax the rich" really scares you, doesn't it? Evil socialism is out to defile your women, desecrate your church, and take your guns, amirite? Better be real afraid. Better hate them like the Devil himself.

Do you think it’s fair for schoolteachers to pay higher tax rates than Trump and Bezos?

Well? DO YOU? Don’t prattle on about “closing loopholes”. Your party will NEVER impose fair taxes on their donors and benefactors. They work for them. Not for the people.

Bezos, chief executive of Amazon and the owner of The Washington Post, paid $973 million in taxes on $4.22 billion in income, as his wealth soared by $99 billion, resulting in a 0.98% “true tax rate.”

Is ONE PERCENT too punishing a burden?

Here are some companies that avoided income taxes in 2020:

Food conglomerate Archer Daniels Midland enjoyed $438 million of U.S. pretax income last year and received a federal tax rebate of $164 million.

The delivery giant FedEx zeroed out its federal income tax on $1.2 billion of U.S. pretax income in 2020 and received a rebate of $230 million.

The shoe manufacturer Nike didn’t pay a dime of federal income tax on almost $2.9 billion of U.S. pretax income last year, instead enjoying a $109 million tax rebate.

The cable TV provider Dish Network paid no federal income taxes on $2.5 billion of U.S. income in 2020.

The software company Salesforce avoided all federal income taxes on $2.6 billion of U.S. income.

FBI ramps up investigations of threats against election officials

(CNN)The FBI has stepped up investigations of threats against election officials -- in some cases, reaching out for the first time in recent weeks to election supervisors and others who have endured months of harassment, local officials tell CNN.

The activity stems from the creation earlier this summer of a Department of Justice task force to address the rising threats of violence against those officials. And it raises hopes among some election administrators that individuals might finally be held to account for the barrage of threats spurred by falsehoods that the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald Trump.

"I don't think people should be able to call with impunity to say whatever they want and to make threats," said Richard Barron, who oversees elections in Fulton County, Georgia, and has spoken recently with two FBI agents. "I hope they make some arrests."

Barron said he and his staff faced a torrent of threats and abuse after Democratic electoral victories last year in the traditionally red state. He said he recently shared two death threats with local FBI officials, including one made earlier this summer that warned he "would be served lead."

Other officials contacted recently by the FBI include Claire Woodall-Vogg, the executive director of the Milwaukee Election Commission. In a recent interview on CNN, Woodall-Vogg estimated that she had received more than 150 threats.

As I was enjoying the warm brew and reading your remarks, something occurred to me.

I've shown the massive amount of evidence proving the election was fairly won by Biden. Especially when compared to the ZERO evidence shown by Trumpists that the election was stolen.

Laughably idiotic notions like, "Biden hid in his basement, dead people voted, Illegals voted, Dominion machines only worked when Republicans won, etc. ad nauseam "prove" Biden couldn't have won".

It is amazing how much evidence and reality Trumpists need to ignore, dismiss, and deflect from to bury their heads in the sand.

The same is true for their glorious Dear Leader's role in inciting a mob to overturn the election, and how he watched it unfold on TV, refusing to order them to stop.

And then, of course, Dear Leader PRAISED the TERRORISTS.

And like all cultists they still revere, obey, and support him.

I totally get why the radicalized mind must reject these facts. The word of their authoritarian leader supersedes reality.

But that doesn't stop them from having all the answers and dismissing facts as "drivel".

“Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening.” - Dear Leader

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” -Big Brother "1984"

So they reject reality and obediently parrot the Big Lie about a stolen election. They see Trump’s coup and praise for terrorsits as nothing that stains the glory of Dear Leader.

When reality and their Dear Leader's words diverge, they will ALWAYS reject reality and embrace the lies of their Leader.

It is the authoritarian way.

The coffee is gone now. But this evening I will savor the delicious single malts of Islay, in moderation, of course.

I will read and enjoy some good music, leaving the authoritarian cult of willful ignorance, madness, lies and rejection of democracy to predate upon the gullible and lost. Such is their false "righteousness" in which they wallow.

The Senate, gerrymandered House, and Electoral College are biased for the minority.

The majority of Americans, not conservatives, are marginalized.

They demand minority rule and the overthrow of our democratic voting process. Very fascist of them.

Darrell,

I am STILL not suppressing any ones vote nor do I have any plans to do so. But I did want to share this with you. Racism much or totally justified?

President Biden’s farm loan forgiveness program is outrageously unconstitutional. It is a law that would selectively pay off the loans of farmers based on race. A non-white farmer would see his entire loan paid off. His neighbor, who is white, would not qualify for the program. It was predictably challenged in court with predictable results.

"The Senate, gerrymandered House, and Electoral College are biased for the minority." (Especially if the minority is liberal.) Let me get this straight, it's bad when a State votes to be controlled by conservatives because they will gerrymander, but it's Good if the liberals control a State because they won't gerrymander?

Guess that answers the question of just how stupid can you be.

LOL

Dave Dubya said...

"Let me get this straight..."

Straight as a pretzel, from Mr. Racial Resentment.

Dems want non-partisan drawn districts. It's in the voter rights bill. Stupid people don't know this.

The fascists want voter suppression, partisan gerrymandering AND control over elections to nullify elections they lose.

“If I lose to Joe Biden, you’ll never hear from me again.” –Trump, Aug. 12, 2020.

Another Trump lie.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/20/black-indigenous-farmers-were-promised-reparations-debt-relief-all-but-four-farmers-are-still-waiting

‘Not what it was sold to be’: why promised debt relief will affect hardly any Black farmers

Of the 20,200 farmers eligible for the program, nearly half, about 9,950, are Native American. According to the latest census of agriculture, in 2017, 79,198 producers identified as American Indian or Alaska Native, compared with 48,697 who identified as Black, accounting for 2.3% and 1.4%, respectively, of the country’s 3.4 million producers.

Many Black farmers stopped trying to get money from the USDA at least a generation ago due to the rampant discrimination they faced, which has led to the loss of 90% of Black farmland over the last century. Today, far less than 10% of the country’s Black farmers – by either Wright’s or the USDA’s estimate – or just 3,337 Black farmers are eligible for this debt forgiveness, according to the Washington DC Farm Service Agency (FSA), the USDA’s lending arm.

“If you don’t have loans,” Wright said, “you can’t have debt relief.”

In March, $5bn was allocated for the Emergency Relief for Farmers of Color Act: $4bn for debt forgiveness on USDA loans and $1bn for outreach, programming and financial support for research and education at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and land grant universities.

Thirteen lawsuits filed in 10 states and three nationwide injunctions claiming discrimination against white farmers are holding up the unprecedented debt forgiveness for Black, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native, Asian, Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian farmers.

White resentment raising its ugly head again. Unlike the people of color, NONE of the white farmers were discriminated against. Now they want to screw the minorities again.

Darrell is the one regurgitating the "stolen election" Big Lie. Maybe you're better informed than he is and know Biden won the election with the most legal votes. You don't like it, but that's what happened. After all, Trump never saw 50% approval and he was behind Biden in EVERY pre-election poll. So he lost.

For some reason neither of you want to talk about it, though.

How come you guys don't want to talk about that? Your beloved leader was impeached for incitement of insurrection. He was even voted guilty by a bi-partisan majority...but the Senate is rigged for the minority, as I noted.

In 2006, he said, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”

WASHINGTON, Aug 20 (Reuters) - The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.

Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.

"Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases," said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation. "Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages."

Dave Dubya said...

Vern doesn't care that the Reuters fake news piece is 100% wrong, debunked and was sourced from anonymous pro-Trump people. "...according to four current and former law enforcement officials." "A former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation" tells us this is a scam. Only active duty officials would have lawful knowledge of any investigation.

Right. Assertions by pro-Trump stooges are not facts, as we know.

Notice that piece of crap was the ONLY article to push this lie. Let us know when Reuters follows up on that. LOL.

Yes, Biden says stupid things. Yes he’s wrong sometimes.

Context the hateful Right ignores and prefers to suggest otherwise.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American (presidential candidate) who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man.”

But he apologized, and Obama said, "He called me. I told him it wasn't necessary. We have got more important things to worry about. He was very gracious and I have no problem with Joe Biden.”

Compare to what a racist would say:

On MSNBC's Morning Joe on April 7, 2011 Trump said in a telephone interview that he would not back off the issue, and that over the last few weeks he has only become more skeptical that Obama was born in the U.S.

“He cannot give a birth certificate,” he told radio host Laura Ingraham in 2011. He added: “He doesn’t have a birth certificate or, if he does, there’s something on that certificate that is very bad for him. Now somebody told me, and I have no idea whether this is bad for him or not but perhaps it would be, that where it says ‘religion’ it might have ‘Muslim,’ and if you’re a Muslim, you don’t change your religion by the way, but somebody said, ‘Maybe that’s the reason he doesn’t want to show it.’ I don’t think so. I just don’t think he has a birth certificate and everybody has a birth certificate.”

“A lot of the so-called birthers, these are great people...I don’t think he has a birth certificate. I see so much fraud in the world. An ad like that could’ve been staged. I don’t mean staged at the time. I mean could have been computer-generated five years ago, eight years ago, two years ago, it could’ve been computer-generated.”

“People have birth certificates,” he told Bill O’Reilly in 2011. “He doesn't have a birth certificate. He may have one but there's something on that, maybe religion, maybe it says he is a Muslim. I don't know. Maybe he doesn't want that. Or he may not have one. But I will tell you this. If he wasn't born in this country, it's one of the great scams of all time.”

“Look, he was born Barry Soetero, somewhere along the line he changed his name,” Trump told Sean Hannity in 2011, despite the fact that Soetero is the surname of Obama’s mother’s second husband, Lolo Soetoro, whom she married four years after Obama was born.

Unlike Biden, Trump NEVER apologized. His racism stands.
But the radical Right DOES NOT CARE!

Trump PRAISED THE TERRORISTS but the radical Right DOES NOT CARE!

Trump’s clear and open racism doesn’t matter to the radical white Right.

If you support a racist who PRAISED THE TERRORISTS, what does that make you?

"Patriots?" Right, and Robert E. Lee and Nathan Bedford Forrest were patriots too.

Racism isn’t racism to racists.

Joe Biden’s crisis of competence and credibility has so damaged his popularity with voters that despite outperforming Donald Trump in favorability polls for months, Trump is now more popular than Biden, according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll shared with The Hill.
“Forty-eight percent of respondents say they have a positive view of Trump compared to 46 percent who say they have a favorable opinion of his successor,” reports The Hill.
51 percent of those surveyed believe Trump “was a better president than Biden.” You can imagine how hard it was for The Hill, with its history of left-wing bias, to report this.
“The mounting issues on all fronts have led to the surprise conclusion that Trump is now seen as good a president as Biden, suggesting the honeymoon is being replaced now with buyer’s remorse,” said Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey. “Since Trump lost the popular vote by 5 points, Trump getting 51 percent as a better president is actually an improvement from Election Day.”

The FBI’s Domestic Terrorism Caseload Has ‘Exploded,’ Director Chris Wray Tells Congress

The domestic terrorism caseload has more than doubled, partly due to the Jan. 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol.

The FBI has more than doubled its domestic terrorism caseload in little more than a year and a half and doubled the amount of bureau personnel working on domestic terrorism investigations, FBI Director Chris Wray testified Tuesday.

“The domestic terrorism caseload has exploded,” Wray said during an appearance before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

The stark jump is in part due to the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which has resulted in more than 600 arrests (with hundreds more arrests in the works).

Wray, responding to Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), said the domestic terrorism caseload had been on the rise in the years before the Jan. 6 attack.

“[It] has been going up quite significantly over the past few years,” Wray said. “It’s been a really significant jump there.”

FBI Director Wray explains the threats from IT (International Terrorism) and DT (Domestic Terrorism)
~~~
https://www.hsgac.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Testimony-Wray-2021-09-21-REVISED.pdf
STATEMENT OF CHRISTOPHER A. WRAY DIRECTOR FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION BEFORE THE COMMITTEE ON HOMELAND SECURITY AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS U.S. SENATE
Overall, the FBI assesses that the January 6th siege of the Capitol Complex demonstrates a willingness by some to use violence against the government in furtherance of their political and social goals. This ideologically motivated violence — domestic terrorism — underscores the symbolic nature of the National Capital Region and the willingness of some Domestic Violent Extremists to travel to events in this area and violently engage law enforcement and their perceived adversaries.
The American people should rest assured that we will continue to work to hold accountable those individuals who participated in the violent breach of the Capitol on January 6th and any others who attempt to use violence to intimidate, coerce, or influence the American people or affect the conduct of our government.
Top Terrorism Threats
There are some commonalities between the IT and DT threats, most importantly the danger posed by lone actors or small cells who typically radicalize online and look to attack soft targets with easily accessible weapons. Individuals who commit violent criminal acts in furtherance of social or political goals stemming from domestic influences — some of which include racial or ethnic bias, or anti-government or anti-authority sentiments — are described as Domestic Violent Extremists (“DVEs”), whereas individuals who are inspired primarily by global jihad but are not receiving individualized direction from Foreign Terrorist Organizations (“FTOs”) are known as Homegrown Violent Extremists (“HVEs”). Both of these threats, which together form the most significant terrorism danger to our country, are located primarily in the United States and typically radicalize and mobilize to violence on their own.
The top threats we face from DVEs are from those we categorize as Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists (“RMVEs”) and Anti-Government or Anti-Authority Violent Extremists. While RMVEs who advocate for the superiority of the white race were the primary source of lethal attacks perpetrated by DVEs in 2018 and 2019, Anti-Government or Anti-Authority Violent Extremists – specifically, Militia Violent Extremists and Anarchist Violent Extremists – were responsible for three of the four lethal DVE attacks in 2020.
Dave Dubya said...
Rex,
Still fantasizing your thuggish urges?
So now I’m posting “biased facts”? LOL.
This is your new excuse for rejecting provable facts and information.
My "biased facts" don't conform to your "alternative facts", like Trump's "largest inauguration crowd ever" and "stolen election", amirite?
At least you sort of admit they are facts, unlike your ridiculous bigoted Trumpist hate rhetoric.
I suppose Trump’s racist birtherism is a “biased fact”. And the Trump organization’s refusal to rent to Blacks is nothing but a “biased fact”?
But the "stolen election" is not a “biased fact” like his “largest inauguration crowd ever” is also not a “biased fact”? Nope. Those are what you call "alternative facts".
This mindless nonsense would be funny if it wasn't backed by such vile hate that is shredding the democratic foundations of the republic.
Nothing biased about “Honest Don” the con, is there? And you can prove it. You just won’t because...why? Maybe because you’d rather spew your biased lies and hate?
I get it. Reality is “biased” against your lies and false beliefs.
I have to say “biased facts” is a hilariously wild projection from a pro-Trump propaganda-addled mind, saturated with negative emotions towards those who show provable real facts.
Yes. My facts shown are real. You believe your opinions are facts. Your FEELINGS are facts.
How can we tell? I support mine with evidence. You do not.
It’s nice that you want more women to bear the child of a rapist. It’s really thoughtful of you to force a single poor young woman to bear a deformed or brainless fetus. It’s sweet of you to call a non-sentient, unformed fetus and potential human being a “person”, as if it were a corporation. :-)
That’s wonderful. But what a woman does with her body is not your choice. Nor is it mine. It’s her body puking in the morning. It’s her body flooded with hormones. It’s her body that transmits oxygen and proteins to a zygote or fetus. It’s her body that will produce milk. It’s her body that will be sleep deprived to work for minimum pay to raise a child. It’s her body that will be working the next 18 years to provide for the child, as your party cuts her's and her child's food stamps and medicaid.
Since when is all that YOUR business? Why should it be any other damn conservative man’s power to dictate what a woman does with her body? What about the woman’s right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness? YOU don’t get to restrict or deny her rights. They want reproductive freedom. You want to deny them that most personal of freedoms. You elevate the rights of a zygote over a woman's. Bottom line.
I don’t like abortion either, but not everyone wants to live under your theocratic dictates.
Typically “freedom” for the radical Right means dictatorship over women and the majority.
Dave Dubya said...
Fact count update from Rex: Still ZERO.
The radical Right has a very low tolerance for journalism and education that does not conform to their political ideology. If it doesn't conform it is called "fake news" and now "biased facts".
How perfectly Trumpian.
As I illustrated earlier:
“Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what's happening.” - Big Daddy
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” - Big Brother, Orwell, 1984
For not conforming to their cult, journalists and educators are falsely accused of being the “enemy of the people” and “Marxist indoctrination”. Yeah. Hitler said the same damn thing. THAT IS A REAL FACT.
“Freedom” for the Right means demonizing the study of the history and effects of slavery and racism. Radical Right white men will say that sort of academic freedom is “Marxist”. They want it banned. Bans on academic study, research and education are lifted directly out of the fascist and communist playbooks. ANOTHER REAL FACT.
See what I mean about radical Right projection and hypocrisy? Of course not. There's no cure for willful blindness.
I appreciate your version of understanding or sympathy, or whatever feelings that could move you to say you feel “kinda sad” for me. Why? I’m really quite happy in my life. I just happen to side with the people over the powerful. Representative democracy over authoritarianism. Love over hate. Truth over lies.
”You rage at everyone behind your wall of hate and misinformation and accuse them of the very things you are guilty of. You must be a lonely man, Dubya.”
I don’t hate anyone. Never said so. I do hate racism, I hate white supremacy, I hate ignorance and bigotry. I hate voter suppression. I hate lies. Those I will always condemn and expose. Nothing personal.
Anyone who rejects the hate and lies of the radical Right and Trump will earn my respect and admiration. So I don’t hate the person at all. Not even you. I believe in love and redemption.
I also welcome any facts that will correct any alleged misinformation I conveyed. It’s all there to be debunked by your accurate information. What’s stopping you?
The Right hates producing evidence, and prefers to attack the messenger instead, as we’ve seen here.
And I’m far from lonely. I am with the majority who knows Trump is a dangerous liar.
Trump lost. But you’re too much in his cult to ever know that. You listen to only pro-Trump media. Like a cult you reject any source of information that says something negative about your Dear Leader, or contradicts his thousands of lies.
It’s his Big Lie that is tearing our country apart and fueling the Republican war on voter rights.
As I said. The radical Right wants minority rule, and will stop at nothing to get it. Even an ongoing coup to overturn our election.
If you think the majority of Americans and I are misinformed, wouldn’t you also think it important to show us the facts?
That will never happen, will it? Reality does NOT conform to the lies of Donald Trump and his radical Right Party.
If only “real Americans” buy into Trump’s lies, you are at odds with the vast majority of Americans, as well as with the truth. How real is that?
Show me your truth. What evidence do you have to show Trump won? Show us your grasp of facts.
I’m open to seeing anything you can offer. Change my mind with facts. We on the left are funny that way. Lies about who to hate and blame, and who are “real Americans” are more the Right’s domain.
We’ll settle for facts. In case you don't know the definition.
fact: a thing that is known or proved to be true.
So whatcha got? Some Q-anon? Alex Jones?
Mature men can debate with evidence and engage in good faith discussion. I’ve shown a considerable amount of facts supported by evidence.
So try it. It’s up to you.
Give me your "unbiased facts” supported by evidence, and show where I am in error, or go back to your tantrum and name calling.
“Biased facts.” LMFAO
That anti-intellectualism is also a hallmark of fascism and communist dictatorships.
I know you won't believe me, but I think Biden should be questioned, just like every politician.
Rex said...
Yeah, as long as we don't ask him any tough questions (in other words racist or authoritarian questions) you are just fine with it, right?
No worries; Biden's staff won't "let him" answer any questions that have not been pre-approved from the friendly leftist media that you are too blind to admit even exists.
JTF, can you imagine Trump telling reporters he was "going to be in trouble" for answering questions that his staff didn't approve?
Yep... leftist "democracy" at work here.
Dave Dubya said...
Gee, Rex.
"JTF, can you imagine Trump telling reporters he was "going to be in trouble" for answering questions that his staff didn't approve?"
We don't have to imagine what a racist like Trump would tell Black reporters.
In one week in November 2018, Trump singled out three African-American women journalists. The women - Abby Phillip, April Ryan and Yamiche Alcindor - earned his contempt apparently just for asking him questions.
Trump called one of Ms Phillip's questions "stupid," described Ms Ryan as "a loser" and brushed off Ms Alcindor, saying her question was "racist."
That's your Dear Leader, "defending freedom" from the "enemies of the people".
Journalists and a free press are always the targets of tyrants.
I have produced facts and information, supported by evidence and provably true.
Not "biased facts". There are no such things, of course. Facts are neither liberal nor conservative, and never biased.
Facts are just true. If they're not true, they're not facts.
This seems too complicated for the authoritarian mind apparently.
Here's the definition:
Fact: a thing that is known or proved to be true.
I have asked for facts and information. And you produced nothing.
I'm not bothered or disappointed.
This is the way of the radical Right. You and Darrell and JTF. All the same. Deflect, deny, dismiss and demean.
Good faith discussion is always rejected for some reason.*
Like talking to toddlers who just learned to say "no"...They have alternative facts too.
*(Of course I know the reasons, and have explained them many times. Many examples are above as well.)
Real Americans don't have to explain. Real Americans don't need no facts or accurate information. Real Americans don't need no reason or logic. Real Americans don't need to prove nothin.
They just believe what their leaders say, and assert what they believe. Then they deny the rest. That's it.
Real Americans just need to believe in "Honest" Don "Stable Genius" Trump. He does all the thinking for real Americans. He praises and loves real American insurrectionist terrorists. He pardons war criminals and crooked cronies. Them's the real patriots.
And if you disagree, you hate America.
Simple as that.
They say they "don't see color", but they certainly live in a black and white world.
Rex,
So far the only thing Joe has built back better is the Taliban. President Joe Biden’s job approval has been steadily sinking over the last few weeks — he is at just 43% approval in the latest Gallup poll out Wednesday. He's now under water in D.A.D' home state of MI, LOL.
D.A.D. is still off his rocker.."We don't have to imagine what a racist like Trump would tell Black reporters." Really, D.A.D., help us out, what would he tell them? Come on son, here's your big time to shine.
CRICKETS.
He's still putting words in the mouths of others and trying to hold them accountable for them. What a loser.
So I asked if JTF could imagine if Trump had been protected by his staff to not answer any reporters questions that had not been pre-approved, what the left would say.
Dave comes back on BS examples of Trump being "mean" to leftist reporters supposedly because they were black.
Who is the one deflecting with their whataboutism, Dubya?
Oh, and I should have put quotes around "biased facts" previously. Often times what you present are merely assertions and leftist sourced talking points. C'mon Man! Not even many Democrats can say that CNN is an objective news source with a straight face these days.
Dave Dubya said...
Rex: Version one:
"can you imagine Trump telling reporters he was "going to be in trouble" for answering questions that his staff didn't approve?"
(No evidence was presented to suggest "for answering questions that his staff didn't approve" was a factor. Still, I agree it was lame. I wish he WOULD answer more questions. I am NOT duped or gullible enough to believe any man will "make America great".)
Rex: Version two:
"So I asked if JTF could imagine if Trump had been protected by his staff to not answer any reporters questions that had not been pre-approved, what the left would say."
One is about "telling reporters". That was the context of my response.
Two is about staff actions and is NOT what you asked him.
You've just proven yourself a liar, or an idiot who can't even quote himself correctly, Rex.
Toddlers. I'm trying to reason with the the intellectual and emotional levels of toddlers.
"WAAAHH I want it BOTH ways!!"
"Dave comes back on BS examples of Trump being "mean" to leftist reporters supposedly because they were black."
"BS examples"? LOL. Like "biased facts" I suppose.
A toddler or cult member would whine that real facts are "BS examples".
"Mean" isn't the same as racist. I present facts that clearly show Trump's racism, from not renting to Blacks, to demanding the death penalty for the exonerated Central Park victims of false arrest. That, along with his birtherism and his verbal abuse of Black women reporters show us who he really is.
His bigotry was clear from the the get go. What other kind of person would run on banning Muslims? What other kind of person would bitch about and want to ban human beings from "shithole" countries?
White toddlers and bigots will never accept or understand these facts.
Rex, name ONE "objective news" source. Is it "Q-anon"? LOL.
For your cult "objective" means only pro-Trump. So stuff it.
No human is completely objective. All of us have subjective viewpoints. This is why we want to learn the facts. Facts are objective. They can be shown and are proven. If not, then they are not facts.
(I can't believe I need to talk to you like you're children.)
CNN does report objective facts. So does pro-Trump media. But the records of accuracy are wildly different.
CNN is corporate news with a corporate bias. They won't piss of the military industrial complex or their big pharma advertisers. War is good for profit. Corporate media ramped up Bush's and Cheney's lies to invade Iraq. Corporate media gave more air to Hillary's emails than any other issue. Trump was also good for corporate media profits. Corporate media STILL give more air time to Trump than any previous president.
I'm sure toddlers will never figure that out.
At least I'm not a cult drone who supports a man who says terrorists are special and he loves them.
That would be YOU. Why do you hate America?
Rex,
I see you ignored the definition of "fact" again. Figures.
"Again, the asshats that burned, and destroyed, and assaulted, and killed people in the BLM and antifa riots are terrorists... who YOU SUPPORT!"
How nazi of you to accuse me of that with no supporting evidence. I suppose that's what all you racist Derek Chauvin fans think. See what I did there? That's how you operate. And you think we don't understand you. ;-)
I suppose if I supported a racist who praises terrorists, I might say something as fascistic too.
Sorry. YOU support the terrorist lover. Not me, kiddo.
Toddlers.
Still haven't seen evidence to support your claim about "approved questions". You may have to toddle through the weeds for that.
Still waiting for your "objective" news source too.
Alex Jones? Rudy, the about to be disbarred liar? Q-anon?
Or just "Honest Don" the terrorist lover?
How about the "not racist journalist" Dennis Prager? He's especially bright:
Black Lives Matter is "the most racist organization in the country outside of the Ku Klux Klan."
"If you vote for a Democrat, you are ending democracy."
“To the left, America is essentially a racist, sexist, violent, homophobic, xenophobic, and Islamophobic country.”
(He's describing the radical Right, not America. But the RR BELIEVES they ARE America, right, Mr. "Real American"?)
And this stroke of genius: "Did you know that there is a solution to warm climate? It's called air conditioning. It's very effective."
I've asked here before to discuss and debate issues. That is always rejected in favor of deflections, false accusations and personal attacks.
Your cult is programmed for only two things: To trust and believe your leaders without question, and to hate and blame those who disagree with your leaders.
Yeah, that's what fascism has always been too. Coincidence?
And I'm far from cranky. Your support for a terrorist lover, and your white rage and blind hatred confirm my case.
This validates my points and delights me.
Still wanna punch me, tough guy?
This is one reason DAD is so cranky. The latest Pew Research Center .... President Joe Biden’s job approval rating has fallen sharply in the past two months. Fewer than half of U.S. adults (44%) now approve of the way Biden is handling his job as president, while 53% disapprove. This marks a reversal in Biden’s job ratings since July, when a 55% majority approved of his job performance and 43% disapproved.
Since ad hominem acronyms like DAD are acceptable here, "Dumb Ass Dave" hereby bestows the acronym RAT to Rex, Darrell, and Vern. Since I'm so dumb you'll understand why RAT will henceforth designate Racist Asshole Trumpist.
Are you RATs good with that?
Or would you prefer TWATS? Totalitarian White American Terrorist Supporters?
Shall I offer more suggestions in return for your uncivil ad hominem fascist hate?
Still waiting on how Trump won the election and what your radical Right "objective" news sources are...
Hate, false accusations and personal attacks are so much easier than fair discourse, amirite, proud boys?
Could that be due to the FACT that you have NO answers to prove the election was stolen? Surely among your top journalists like Q-anon, Alex "Sandy Hook False Flag" Jones, Dennis "Air Conditioning for Global Warming" Prager, and Tucker "Replacement Theory" Carlson, you have plenty of biased and alternative facts to share?
Your Big Daddy loves those guys, so let's see what ya got.
Or are you a bunch of yellow-bellied chickens who can't state your case with supporting evidence like rational men? This what unquestioning belief in Dear Leader, with a deep fear of truth and indoctrinated hate for others, does to cowards.
As the song goes, "Gimme Some Truth".
"I'm sick and tired of hearin' things
From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded, hypocritics
All I want is the truth
All I want is the truth
Just gimme some truth
No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of Tricky Dicky
We know the authoritarian personality HATES to actually read what people outside of their cult write.
So just for them, here’s a short version of what the “Propaganda Professor” says:
~~~~

https://propagandaprofessor.net/2021/01/23/the-stupendously-stupid-story-of-the-stolen-election/

The Stupendously Stupid Story of the “Stolen Election”

Well, how long will the seditious Republicans continue with their bumbling coup attempt? One thing we know for certain: this is the wave of the future for the GOP. In any election they lose from now until Doomsday, they will declare there was “fraud” and do everything they possibly can to overturn it.

This time, however, the effort was doomed to failure for several reasons. For one thing, Biden scored a resounding victory, spread across several swing states — and it would be a gargantuan task to overturn them all. Second, Democrats still control the House and now effectively control the Senate; a slim firewall against total fascist takeover. And third, the attempted coup was just so inept and off-the-wall that it was laughed out of court even by right-wing judges, including some appointed by 45 himself. The claims of “fraud” and “stolen election” are mind-bogglingly dumb even by usual Republican standards.

How dumb were they? Well, dozens of members of Congress joined forces to try to subvert the democratic process on the simple grounds that “many people believe” the election was tainted.

Well, sure. Many people also believe the earth is flat, the moon landing was faked, vaccines cause autism, Obama was born in Kenya, and DJT is a good Christian.

Another curious talking point is that conspiracy theories about the election should be hashed over in Congress because otherwise the voices of 74 million voters will be silenced. Well, no.

Their voices have been heard loud and clear at the ballot box. But the 81 million for Biden spoke considerably more loudly. And now Republicans are trying to silence their voices.

One of the arguments was that Biden couldn’t have possibly won because he just “hid in his basement” during the campaign, while the other guy got out and made a bunch of appearances drawing huge crowds.

One of the really cool things about being a right-winger is that you can just “know” things, without having to bother with a shred of evidence.

An article by Daniel Oliver presents his thesis based on the “statistics” showing that some precincts had more votes than registered voters. Except that didn’t really happen. Such claims result either from ignorance about how ballots are counted or just sheer dishonesty.

One of his key points is that Biden was trailing in the vote tallies in certain crucial states on election night, and then suddenly, the next day he was leading. After the mail-in ballots (which the White House Occupant repeatedly urged his fans not to avail themselves of) started to be factored in. Who ever woulda thunk it?

But even if we didn’t know any of this, and just took all of the figures in that post at face value, why would we assume that there is something wrong with Biden’s total? We just as easily could turn it around and say, “Biden got 81 million votes, so how could the Other Guy have received 74 million”? Especially since the Other Guy consistently polled at about 43 percent approval.

Why do the spreaders of this narrative automatically assume that it was their boy whose count is valid?

Because such a presumption is the very backbone of “conservatism”. Not just the presumption that they are right, but the presumption that they have a god-given right to be right, and to have their way 200 percent. No matter how much stupidity is involved.

That, in a nutshell, is the root of the Capitol riot. And of the “stolen election” story. And of the past few decades in America.
~~~~
Shall we discuss?
Did anyone read it?
Of course not. Silly Dumb Ass Dave!
The Radical Right Trump cult have to run for their garlic and crucifix before it can read something that will burn their eyes out with truth and reason.
Rex said...
Dave, I don't need to punch you. I don't hit women or girly-men.
Second, your "polite requests" are laughable. I haven't seen politeness from you ever. If you had approached your disagreements like a gentleman without all of the nastiness, I wouldn't have responded in kind. Frankly, I think Darrell should just ban you and be done with your trollness.
Next, that is quite the assumption that Trump was asking for Obama's birth certificate because he was black. Maybe he was asking for it because of all of the irregularities and the obfuscation that Obama offered in not providing it for such a long time, and of course because he is a leftist that wanted to "fundamentally transform America." Look at what a great job Obama did, especially with setting back race relations by decades.
But then you are so deep in your hate that you think I and other conservative are racist simply because we are conservatives. Never mind that my ex-wife and still good friend is black. I suppose, like Larry Elder, my ex is just another "black face of white supremacy". You criticize what you don't know and hate everything you don't understand, including the promises in the ideals of this country. Such attitudes and ignorance is disgusting to me.
Oh, and by the way, Darrell asked me to quit with the names and D.A.D reference, which I have for the last few times since he asked. Why don't you go and bully people that will take it instead of men that aren't afraid of your falsified "facts" and hate? Is it because you have nothing else to do? What a sad life.
Dave Dubya said...
Rex,
Good for you. No more DAD crap. Now if only his little sidekick would comply.
As I said, you will dismiss or deny Trump's birtherism and try to say Obama's Blackness has nothing to do with it. Yup. Even though Obama DID provide proof of native birth, Trump still pushed his racist lies. Never mind his documented history of racism. Got a bridge to sell with that one?
And you even push yet another birther lie: "Maybe he was asking for it because of all of the irregularities and the obfuscation that Obama offered in not providing it for such a long time,"
Good God. Your Dear Leader and cult REJECTED his birth certificate!!!
Are you blind or illiterate?
In case of visual impairment:
On MSNBC's Morning Joe on April 7, 2011 Trump said in a telephone interview that he would not back off the issue, and that over the last few weeks he has only become more skeptical that Obama was born in the U.S.
“He cannot give a birth certificate,” he told radio host Laura Ingraham in 2011. He added: “He doesn’t have a birth certificate or, if he does, there’s something on that certificate that is very bad for him. Now somebody told me, and I have no idea whether this is bad for him or not but perhaps it would be, that where it says ‘religion’ it might have ‘Muslim,’ and if you’re a Muslim, you don’t change your religion by the way, but somebody said, ‘Maybe that’s the reason he doesn’t want to show it.’ I don’t think so. I just don’t think he has a birth certificate and everybody has a birth certificate.”
“A lot of the so-called birthers, these are great people...I don’t think he has a birth certificate. I see so much fraud in the world. An ad like that could’ve been staged. I don’t mean staged at the time. I mean could have been computer-generated five years ago, eight years ago, two years ago, it could’ve been computer-generated.”
“People have birth certificates,” he told Bill O’Reilly in 2011. “He doesn't have a birth certificate. He may have one but there's something on that, maybe religion, maybe it says he is a Muslim. I don't know. Maybe he doesn't want that. Or he may not have one. But I will tell you this. If he wasn't born in this country, it's one of the great scams of all time.”
“Look, he was born Barry Soetero, somewhere along the line he changed his name,” Trump told Sean Hannity in 2011.
The icing on the cake is blaming Obama for racism.
"Setting back race relations by decades" is the fault of the Black guy, isn't it? Trump's racist birtherism, that you regurgitate and defend, has nothing to do with it. Never blame white racists. Nope. Not to blame at all.
You and David Duke and Klan will all agree on that, of course.
This madness is how they will justify killing or imprisoning those who disagree with the man who said this:
